.................................E T H I O P I A............. versus ...........S O U T H - A F R I C A even ordinary Ethiopian military will stand against South African military and will not be defeated, they will end the fight like iran-iraq war. ethiopia has no ocean waters so the south african navy becomes useless in the battle because ethiopia is out of range of any south african navy warship if they manage to enter persian gulf, and they cannot shoot over the territory of etritrea, djibouti and somalia, all still too far away from ethiopian lands. Ethiopian air force pilots are the best in africa and most experienced in modern jet vs jet air combat in this current generation, in year 2000 they used SU-27 jets against MIG 29 jets in real war against eritrea. it is the most modern war ever in africa today with the best worlds weapons heavily used in that war from year 1998 to 2000 all the nice photo south african weapons and videos posted on this forum have not been used to K.ill any human being and most of the over-rated south african soldiers have not K.illed any enemy soldiers since they joined the army. Ethiopian armed forces will d.amage South african military until their boasting will stop for ever. the war will likely end in a draw, no winner. the south african airforce 26 Grippens jets will face a powerful ethiopian air force of 8 SU-25 and 18 SU-27 jets with the more experienced ethiopian pilots. ethiopian military is regularly tested in many wars and proved to be a bloody battlefield K.iiler force anytime anyday, the world respects them. ethiopian army is the most experienced in africa at country vs country wars and no nation has ever defeated them from africa to arabia. ethiopian army has 500 anti-aircraft missile launchers hand-held by infantry against enemy aircraft ethiopia also have over 3,000 anti-tank missiles launched from their T-72 or T-62 tanks and some by infantry hand held against enemy armoured vehicles and tanks both countries have about the same number of tanks. south africa has about 3 times more APC's. ethiopia has more helicopter gunships 18 against south african 11. ethiopian army 1,200 heavy artillery guns south african army 120 heavy artillery guns ethiopian army 135,000 soldiers very experienced in recent modern combat against several other countries south african army 30,000 soldiers with zero combat experience in recent times against any other country all above data is from same source : free internet wikipedia of both nations army and air force ethiopia is a more powerful military than south africa especially going by the history of both nations in real war. south african military is just an over-rated force, egypt and algeria will defeat south africa. ethiopia and nigeria are equal in military power to south africa. simple truth that can be confirmed on free internet information. |

Nigeria's Ten Year Naval Expansion Plan The Nigerian Navy is seeking the Federal Government's approval to upgrade and expand the Navy considerably, including adding 49 warships and 42 helicopters. The goal of the naval expansion would be to improve maritime security of national interests in Nigerian waters and the Gulf of Guinea. The plan is not insignificant, and is broken down into short, medium, and long range plans. He [Vice Admiral Ibrahim] stated that the immediate plan which will span for two years, the Federal Government should add to the inventory of the Navy two light frigates, two 85 metre OPVs, six 17 metre Manta Class IPCs, six Shaldag MK 11 Patrol Craft, two 38 metre FPBs, two combat Augusta A138 helicopters, one Landing Platform Dock, and two Logistics Ships. In the medium term which will span between two to five years, the CNS said the Nigerian Navy would need, ten OPVs, 20 helicopters, one hydrographic ship, two training ships, two logistics ships, and two mine counter measure vessels (MCMVs). While the long term plan which he put at between five and ten years, he requested the Federal Government to procure, three Conventional Submarines, two corvettes, two LPDs, 20 long rang maritime patrol helicopters, two training ships and two MCMVs. It looks like the Nigerian government is being encouraged to have the multi-national oil companies that operate in Nigeria pay for the naval expansion. The article goes on to note that part of the expansion includes human capital. A few bullets: Compare the way Nigeria is building up a maritime security fleet with the way Brazil is building submarines first in that nations Naval expansion. Nigeria is positioning themselves to be a regional partner with their Navy in the Gulf of Guinea, where Brazil is building its Navy to be a regional power in the South Atlantic. Both nations are expanding naval forces for the purposes of securing their offshore energy resources, but the approaches are very different. 1 Like |

Now, I get what you've been rambling about. "We also allocated over 6 billion usd for national security purposes, comprised of 2billion usd for the police, and for the Armed Forces(2.6 billion usd), 1.2 billion usd for the Office of the NSA( SSS and NIA)". Nigeria's defence budget 2013. Nigeria's security budget was a little higher than this at 6.4 billion usd, for the year 2012 with the armed forces and intelligence( office of the NSA) taking 4.3 billion USD 1 Like |

the south africans know the truth in all what we the nigerians comment and post here, its just that they are not men of courage that can admit it when they are wrong or defeated in an intelligent logical argument. south africans have an inferiority complex from their soweto years in the white-man's cage which they have not fully recovered from, and they may never recover from the mental devaluation. |

Capnd143: Guys Nigeria and india sign an air defense co-operation agreement yesterday, and the india defense minister said that Nigeria should name any area which it wanted assistance/colobration in and india will gladly coperatd . . . 4rm info gathered it seems the are interested in development of SAM's and this one below precisely . , no military journal has been able to give the exact number of blowpipe SAM's we have, some say 40 some say 48, most of them are using 1980-2001 figures, thats y we are being degraded! Even this SAM below is yet to be counted! . Yet the journals claim wrong values. It a good sam but not in sevises yet and will replace the roland. Sa plans on getting the land based umkonto for phase 2 of the GBADS. Phase one is now complet. The blow pipe is out dated these days. |

andrewza: you were too lazy to open the weblink and read the details of missiles carried by the USS INDEPENDENCE. up to 45 missiles on that warship, not open to be seen outside, internal weapons bay of a real modern stealth warship. its too advanced for you to understand, its far more sophisticated than the south african valour ship you know, the hull design is the first of its kind in the whole world, too much for you. another correction sir, USS INDEPENDENCE is NOT a prototype, it is a full commissioned and active in service US NAVY warship based in san diego naval base of america along with its sister ship USS FREEDOM. the photo of her commissioning ceremony is posted again below, please correct your error. thanks i also noticed that you have an old fashioned rigid and stone fixed and military idea of looking for weapons on platforms from the outside, sorry sir, you are out-dated already, most new war platforms now have weapons in internal bay or removable and re-fixable depending on need. you have a big problem of not understanding very modern and complex military equipment. the world of science has created new types of weapons beyond your out-dated old imagination my dear brother. USS INDEPENDENCE is a multi-role warship that can be configured quickly every hour for different roles with special mission modules carried in the internal bay. the weapons will be changed in a short time for different types of sea combat engagements. it functions as littoral combat ship, corvette, frigate, anti-mine or anti-submarine. that is a multi-role warship that you dont understand because south africa does not have that type and your european NATO countries all have not reached that advanced level of america yet. i have helped your laziness a bit with this quote from wikipedia and the source weblink below you can confirm. The concept behind the littoral combat ship, as described by former Secretary of the Navy Gordon R. England, is to "create a small, fast, maneuverable and relatively inexpensive member of the DD(X) family of ships." The ship is easy to reconfigure for different roles, including anti-submarine warfare, mine countermeasures, anti-surface warfare, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, homeland defense, maritime intercept, special operations, and logistics. Due to its modular design, the LCS will be able to replace slower, more specialized ships such as minesweepers and larger assault ships. source weblink http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Littoral_combat_ship you are still my friend, i am not trying to insult you sir, no. i will not do that. dont be lazy to read weblinks details to avoid you posting wrong comments. dont be lazy read before you post and stop annoying me...and accept defeat when you are wrong !! america is is the most advanced weapons producer in the world and we do many wonderful things with our weapons, we create them and we re-configure them anyhow we wish at any time any day depending on what we want to do with that weapon for that moment of the day, dont get stuck with a south african mindset of what can be done to a weapon, america is too far sophisticated for you to understand.

agaugust: Don't assume I don't know what it has. The valour has 32 VL cells of witch 16 are armend with sams and 16 are empty. There is a plan to laod them with diffrent missils either a long rang SAM or ground attack crusdie missiel. The missiels on the LCS are either ground attack navel version of NLOS sytem or point deffense Rolling over air frame point deffesnse missiel. Those diffrent versions are only planded and would mean it could only specolise. And the Anti surface rolle is built to kill swarms of small shipps(like the nigerian navy) not war ships. I have spoken to Amrican salors who have served on many ships. The LCS is very good at it roll and it roll is not to kill other war ships. If you want argue ships try it with the uniformend. I have phiscly been on more ships from more countries than you can remember. The best frigat I have seen where german the dutch are all so good with there supped up radar sytem. Please many amrican wepaons are a joke compared to what the rest of the world has to offer. |
