At the very first one, you resonated so powerfully with me, that I wanted to jump in,
but I restrained myself from getting involved, because, in the first place, I didnt want to gatecrash
and secondly, there is that back-burner interaction post of ours,
which once I get my groove back on it, I would now and then be referencing contents in each/all of the six quotes

Okay, thanks for clearing that up.
I look forward to your submissions.

Now, it brings me back to my proposition from earlier, there are people who have had personal encounters with Jesus...
I'm not talking of bible-inspired encounters.
I'm talking about real, raw, face to face deals.

I want to be one of those too.

Here is the thing, the story is quite unique really, before Jesus was born the story was written therefore Jesus’ very first acts were a drama, that is to say, his real life was also just a role. Similarly everyone, Christian, Muslim and whatever else thinks they live life but it is just part of the drama, a role given to you by society and you have become identified by the role given to you, and we then mistake the drama…for life, but in order to truly live life, you have to break that identification.

For those who walk in the path of Divine light, it is not that you meet a man intoning “verily verily I say unto thee…” before you know you have encountered Christ. To encounter the Christ consciousness is in itself an act, a transcendence of human experience. Many claim to have experience of Jesus complete with audio-visuals and miraculous effects but in the end it is always psychosomatic.

The Christ consciousness is a realm that resides in the second part of the human experience, not the doing where we act out our given roles, but the being, that is to say, a state of being where we are full of; forgiveness because to forgive is Divine, Love, because God is Love and suffused with compassion because Christ is the deity of compassion.

Now, let's assume that Jesus truly said all that's credited to him...
You assume He didn't speak those words? Okay let's. lol.

MizMyColi:

He says, no one comes to the father, except through him. It means that there are actually people who relate more with the father than they do Jesus.
In the Old Covenant or the New? Are you a New Covenant believer or the Old? For, in this New Covenant, YHWH who came to us in the flesh says it has to be through Jesus.
Good News Translation Hebrews 1:1-2

In the past God spoke to our ancestors many times and in many ways through the prophets, but in these last days he has spoken to us through his Son.

He is the one through whom God created the universe, the one whom God has chosen to possess all things at the end.

Good News Translation Ephesians 1:22

God put all things under Christ's feet and gave him to the church as supreme Lord over all things

In every house, there's a door, and The Master says He is the Door to the Kingdom of YHWH, so, anyone who will not enter through the door is a thief.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
John:10:1

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

John:10:9

And, Yes, Jesus acknowledged those ones of whom you speak about, who want to go in through another means (Which of course can not get to YHWH). rather through the door.

This is what He says they are;

All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.
John:10:8

MizMyColi:

Just like the prophets of old like Isaiah, who related directly with the father, it means that they went through Jesus without even realizing that they had gone through him!!
They didn't. None of them WENT to YHWH, He always came to them. No one knew how to get to Him until Christ came.

MizMyColi:

If they encountered him, they would have written about him, yeah?
YHWH gave them instructions for His people, but He never told them HOW to get to Him, hence, they couldn't write about what they were never told.

MizMyColi:

Oh, last I read...
Jesus also mentioned that the Father and Him are one...
If you have seen me, you have seen the father.
Therefore, if I have seen the father, I have seen
Jesus!!

Alleluia!!! cheesy
Good News Translation John 1:18
No one has ever seen God. The only Son, who is the same as God and is at the Father's side, he has made him known.

Again, Eph 1:22 say God put all things under Christ's feet and gave him to the church as supreme Lord over all things., So, to get anything from the Father, you must do that in THE NAME OF JESUS, why do you think He said that?

MizMyColi:

Now, it brings me back to my proposition from earlier, there are people who have had personal encounters with Jesus...
I'm not talking of bible-inspired encounters.
I'm talking about real, raw, face to face deals.

I want to be one of those too.
And do you know any of such person who had met Jesus face to face (Flesh and blood), after Ascension? Pls i need to know who they are.

Okay..
I just really feel that there's no need for that, y'know...
I think that what the writer tries to prove is different from what I seek/sought.

It's not about evidence(s).
It's about experience(s).

So let me ask you, Dave...

Knowing what you know about Jesus' life and times, have you had a one one one encounter with him?

If yes, what makes you sure that you dealt with him first hand?

Mind sharing your experience(s)?
Evidences are collections of experiences. They cant be ignored in a flash. i recommended that book, not cos i want to prove a point over you. But to let you see through what someone with your kind of experience went through, etc. i strongly recommend it again pls. May be taken as 2018 project. I wont be able to share my own experience now. I gladly want to know however, what, why the bible you believed on went to the negative side. God affirmed Jesus is His ONLY begotten Son,etc. Any good reaso why youre yet to react2 that?

I Upon arrival at church I sat dutifully at the back seeing as my Dad ran the place. On occasions like these when I attended church, the good lord always made it known to me that he had a keen sense of humour, no sooner had I sat down than I would begin to hear the thoughts of others as clear as a bell, the deacons, pastors, choir, whatever, their inane and lascivious mental chatter would drive me up a wall and this was the real reason I never set foot in those places.

Are you psychic?

When I was a christian, there were this other branch of christian who were always casting and binding familiar spirits. I never understood what is it exactly they mean by that, nor the point of binding any spirit in carrying out deliverance. Well, topic for another day.

For now, lets enjoy the end of the year. I see lovely people in this thread. It should be tied to the season. We may have to thank jesus for that
Familiar spirits are demonic spirits that use the faces of people familiar to you to operate and deceive you.

Your image can be used by these spirits if you are spiritually weak. I speak from experience.

Re: Ducking Out Of Church by daveP(m): 1:05pm On Dec 29, 2017
IF JESUS WERE NOT GOD, THEN HE DESERVED AN OSCAR.

Paraphrasing, After baptism by John, he ascended up out of the water and a voice from heaven spake "This is my beloved Son in whom i'm well pleased."

That was God's stamp of recognition on Christ. It happened at the Mount of Transfiguration again(matt 17). It was for this reason he was crucified; his claim to be God which was considered blasphemy by the jews. He wasn't accused, he incriminated himself. Imagine

Why i'm i here? cos he is "THE WAY" AND NOT "A WAY"

John 10:30-33; 5:17,18
Most especially this...
John 5:23 KJV
"that all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him."

cc Mizmycoli, analize701

Bottomline: it's impossible to take up on only 1. They are inseperable in acknowledgment and worship.

Yes there are rules the god of Nairaland covertly laid down.
It's like walking on a landmine field, step on one or flout any at your peril.

Sometimes ordinarily mentioning the god's name directly on the wrong post might get you slammed, so posters at times go round this, by spacing out the god's name.
It's a trial and error, cat and mouse game plus taking a punt you don't get your post hidden along with being slammed with posting privileges temporarily being withdrawn

16One day as we were going to the place of prayer,
we were met by a slave girl with a spirit of clairvoyance,
who earned a large income for her masters by fortune-telling.
17This girl followed Paul and the rest of us, shouting,
“These men are servants of the Most High God, who are proclaiming to you the way of salvation.”
18She continued this for many days.
Eventually Paul grew so aggravated that he turned and said to the spirit,
“In the name of Jesus Christ I command you to come out of her!”
And the spirit left her at that very moment.
