Its a shame, Plat's was genuinely in love with a guy who never loved her. I dont think he intended to scam her, but he does fraud things (fake documents etc) Its just a case of a relationship gone sour and she decided to speak out after break-up and wants 175 dollars spent on him with a few things returned. If the seeker hadnt cheated on her; will we be here? NO. You cannot claim to be innocent either, because you knew from the onset he lied about location, being in US etc to the forumites and you kept mute.

The relationship ended on December 12, 2009 to be precise. But emotionally it had ended before then, if that counts for anything. The reason it ended was because she said she's convinced I'm a scammer. She mentioned just the fake bank documents as her main reason and the UPS bills as what spearheaded her suspicion that I am a scammer.

This case isn't accurate anymore. Before the crash, Option 'Yes' and 'No' had 21 votes each but it's a different story now.

The ability to deduce is something inherent in all of us. If we meet someone who get angry easily, we would think "that guy too dey vex quick". If we know a girl at work that never talks or socialises we will think "that girl is shy or quiet".

Based on other posts in other topics of Theseeker/ThePelican, i can say that he is not 100% kosher. He comes across as fraudulent.

Platinumnk and her previous posts comes across as naive but well meaning (she has a good heart).

My deduction (which may be incorrect) is that Theseeker is a scammer who met a decent girl which he wanted to take advantage of for his personal gain (University admission in the US). I dont think he wanted to scam her out of loads of money, but to achieve his goal of getting a student visa to the US.

This is my opinion, if i were part of a jury, based on the evidence, this would be my verdict.

I almost missed out on this eye-opening thread but good I was able to read quite a few pages. What lessons are there to learn?

1. This is just a case of LOVE gone SOUR - on the path of Platinumk. She was in LOVE with the WRONG kind of person - a dishonest, forked-tongue liar - and was unable to recognize all the red flags.

2. ThePelican can not be said to LOVE this girl - as he had criminal intent and lied about things he should not lie about. Question is: How many other things not indicated here he lied about and of course, to sustain one lie, you will need at least two; and for those three lies, you will need 6, making 9 and it becomes a vicious cycle of lying. Obviously, he was in it because he wanted to leave Nigeria by all means even if he has to take advantage of someone else and do criminal things to achieve this objective.

3. Specifically to Platinumk, it is ridiculous that because of your grave error of judgment spanning several weeks (of lies and cover-up), you insinuate that it is the fault of "Nigerians", most of whom you have never met or known. Simply, your feelings beclouded your judgment and that is the issue here. On this same NL, there are Nigerian guys much better than the loser you fell for, who don't need your money, your father's documents, care if you are in medical school, working or studying whatever course, don't need to be or live in America, who will only like you like ThePelican and may be right under your nose; but people like this will tend to be rather too straight-forward and a bit too honest to get your attention. Of course, they don't have the luxury of time to spend most of their life on NL and when they do, they may go to more serious sections and will come here only occasionally; but that time, your attention is only fixated on losers who are just a one-way traffic to disappointment and heart break. This is applicable to a LOT of the people on NL especially WOMEN. So, in essence stop generalizing all Nigerians with a lost cause as this one.

4. To NL ladies, you should also learn a valuable lesson. I see a lot of familiar user names involved in this imbroglio and with reference to women, their empty pride is appalling. A LOT of the single ladies here WANT a guy for love/relationship/marriage but they are so pretentious! Now, the wind has blown and the poo hole of the chicken has been exposed in the market square! One of them is FL Gators among several others! My advice: learn now or keep deceiving yourselves with useless shakara that will have only one big loser: YOU! Truth be told, MOST WOMEN in America will NOT get married until they are OLD; out of with many will get a divorce in 3-6 years and a LOT will NEVER be married! So, use your sense when you meet a man and you see dangerous lies, you need to leave immediately. Most of the genuine deserving guys won't need to lie to you even if he is in Nigeria. He won't need your money. He would rather spend his own for himself and you (assuming you are not a gold-digger yourself who is always demanding things). But he will tell you the truth even when it hurts but common experience has shown that women love FALSEHOOD and nothing works better than a lying charming man who can raise the dead with his lies.

Bro, please take note that she and you and me are only human. Give her sometime. Her emotions had actually affected her judgements. I dont blame her. It could happen to anyone. She needs some time to think about things over.

I dont consider her as a Nigerian anymore since she is being brought up in America throughout her years and since baby so nope, no signs of Nigerian there. The blood yes but in the sense of character and environment wise, she is very Americanize
