The bold part of your statement get k leg! Like the OP mentioned, if you have a greencard, the path to citizenship is much smoother hence any woman or man can bring their lover over. By burning bridges and calling the relationship over, many people unknowingly killed their own future with their own hand. I do like the second part where you stated there are women and WOMEN, the right WOMAN can be a blessing.

A r/ship is a partnership, so the moment your partner is thinking of LEAVING FOR GREENER PASTURE without you, and with no aim whatsoever, then that partnership is dead and gone. There is a time when people have to face reality and accept the writing on the wall...... Hanging on for "god knows what" is simply a waste of time/energy/life.

A friend told me they gave him permanent resident a.k.a green card but when I saw his international passport it wasn't there so he told me that US embassy don't put such package inside international passport like the way B1B2 are done, that they only send his international passport to USA for clearance to homeland security and FBI for further investigation to know if he has been convicted before in any crime or terrorism and later they returned it to Baltimore before sending it back to us embassy in Nigeria for collection and he can't be able to see the social security number on it except if they scan it on the system, that is what the man who helped him said. So he said he can only travel from Nigeria to US with the permanent residents package aka green card package which will be given to him by us consulate on the day he will be traveling once his through with the airline because the man who helped him said The consulate doesn't have any right to open it and he my friend can't open it as well, that immigration can only open it at the port of entry in USA because the package is not just the card but it contain all his documents which the man who helped him file for him and they can't give it to him until the day of his departure because that's what they will use to access his information on the system before he will be captured and finger printed at the port of entry over there. And this my friend is being help by a man aged 55/60 he met at the international airport and the man came back from USA and he said his a citizen over there and they both met at British airways office inside airport while he my friend came with his friend to verify something from them. So he asked me to bring my passport so that the man will help me as well and he also introduced me to the man which I met him in person. But I want to confirm if truly the story he told me about the permanent residents aka green card is the process on how it's been issued including the international passport clearance stuff before giving him my own? Please I need your guidelines and vital information on this. Anyone can also be of help thank you God bless you all.

Ladies and Gentlemen in Naija, I'll be 100 with you...

If you are dating someone and they are trying to migrate to USA with a non-immigrant visa, and they say they are coming back for you....chances are you are better off just freeing them and remaining friends while you face your life where you are.
I bet you neither you nor them knows the challenges that will have to be faced along this road.

Not every US Visa is a migration Visa. There is schooling visa, visiting visa, etc.
And visas are very restrictive about what you can and cannot do, and if you can even be allowed to apply for any other visa.

When a person has at least a green card, that is US permanent residency, and they are on a home run to US citizenship.
A green card means a person has no serious limitation within the US besides voting (you can do that when you become a citizen).
It is also at this GreenCard level that your trans-atlantic lover can BEGIN the process of sending for you.

But the road to a green card is long and uneasy if you didn't win a US diversity lottery..
Seeing as Nigeria is one of the countries banned from the Us Visa lottery (a program whereby people gamble to win a US greencard), no Nigerian as at some years back can get a quick GreenCard through that route. They have to go the looooong route.

There are various do-able long paths to the US greencard e.g:
- Naija -> School in US -> OPT -> H1B -> Eb2/Eb3/Eb4 employment based GreenCard
- Naija -> School in US (PHD) -> Lots of exploits -> extra-ordinary person Eb1 GreenCard
- Naija -> Have $500k - $1M to "invest" in the US -> Eb5 Investor Greencard. The higher you spend the more the priority (tief tief agbada types love this one)
- Naija -> marry a US citizen or Greencard holder -> Marriage based Greencard.

each '->' sign can mean any where from 2-10 years!

But all these things have been made longer and even sometimes down right unattainable by Trump.
Now, companies that had once hired people through the H1B won't even look at you unless you have an OPT, which means you have more time to "try to get" an H1B.....which you might still kuku not get. undecided
Also, you need to basically be Elon Musk or Bill Gates before you can come in through the "Extra-ordinary person" route.
If you thought you had money before, Trump wants to raise the $$$ range for investing, so the #BigAgbada will probably have to tief more. grin

The insults are so bad right now that in the US, Trump is trying to fight their 13th amendment so as to prevent people who visit the US to give birth from having that child become an automatic US citizen.

Now if the UK was your target, it's even worse because Theresa May and her people are mimicking Trump's US anti-immigration agenda to the point of them going further by trying to deport black UK citizens with Caribbean origins(https://www.npr.org/2018/05/02/607652305/caribbean-immigrants-to-u-k-threatened-with-deportation).

The only thing still left open that these rulers have been unable to touch/complicate yet is Greencard by marriage...and this is where we continue our thread from...

Your boo will mostly have to marry someone there....but it's not that simple.
This process also takes SEVERAL years before they get a greencard, trigger a messy divorce, rebuild themselves, before then being able to START sending for you.
However it is important to keep in mind that:
- Marrying someone purely for a greencard is a scam and is thus a very serious punishable offense worthy of deportation and a ban from the US.
- The safest thing, is to simply marry for real, live in the same house, etc.
- Sensible marriageable people can smell a potential marriage scam from a mile away now and don't enter marriage with guys/girls who don't have papers.
- Since the prime marriage prospects avoid you, You'd probably have to pay someone with a complicated life to do the marriage deal with...and these persons are usually crazy in some way...as they would have to be to collect money to marry someone they don't know.
- There is also the risk of the person you are married to taking advantage, asking for more money midway and/or sometimes even cancelling your greencard application...meaning it was all for naught and you'd then have to go back home anyway in failure after all the suffer.

It's a hard long risky road, one that you in Naija may be totally ignorant of.
In fact sometimes one could deduce that if the same amount of time, hussle and abuse-reception to get a greencard was spent building themselves in Naija, they probably would be farther in life themselves with more human dignity.

All that said...
The easiest thing for your boo to do is to marry a US resident FOR REAL (you don't wanna fake-marry someone you don't see yourself living forever with) and forget you so he/she can move on with their life. After marriage to a good person for a couple years, there will always come that strong urge to just BE DONE with the trans-atlantic wahala and move on with life, forgetting you in the process. Putting out the bad karma of Divorcing, then waiting to recover, and then the beginning of another battle just to send for you...is a serious long ting. You are basically baggage.

There are still some fairly easier, civilized countries to migrate to right now: e.g Australia, Canada (prepare for cold), etc. But if boo's plan is US or UK, and they didn't go as residents, just move your life along.
Don't stunt the development of your life waiting for all that. If you find a functional stable relationship where you are, go with that and free each other to face your chosen destinies untethered and without baggage.

There are many people in Naija who enjoy life to the fullest more than yankee people sef. Focus on being one of those people. So in all these, are you married to a green card holder?

If that's the case half of the relationships/marriages of the 80s and early 90s wouldn't exist today. What if I say despite all this ( life in USA is hard, one will suffer, deportation, no help, akatas are wicked, insult, racist, bla bla bla BS) if i have the chance to land into USA even without a visa or passport I won't even think twice police/immigration-officials go chase me tire. Like you guys have any idea how much I've suffered here already? Even a 60years old American might probably never suffer half of what I've suffered in mah lifetime here in naija and Some of y'all are are living in a better/sane country and your telling us not to come both illegal/legally? The problem you have is shortsightedness. Your lack of exposure limits your abiity to see beyond your limited thinking. I chose to give you examples of how our parents did it back then just to show you life/marriages are not black or white. As recent as 2009, many people still gained visa lottery and had to leave their partners, fast forward 3 to 5 years later, they are citizens and majority of them have brought their partners here to the U.S., the last statistics from the Dept. of State shows that more and more permanent resident greencardholders brought in their spouse after citizenship than past decades. Your theory is ridiculous and holds no weight, you can continue in your ignorant ways and keep trying to make sense of nonsense or admit that you gave a generalized advice which does not hold true for everyone....The choice is yours!

60% of Akatas are morally unacceptable by their own community. The ones from the core Ghetto have "zero life". You must run away from them when considering marriage for AOS. It's pathetic when you see them begging on the street in this same land flowing with milk and honey.

How do you know where to invest your time and resources? All you need is their names, address or SSN for a comprehensive background check to get credit history, driver's history, criminal records, education and more. From there, you don't need to be told your next move.

The US is not so hard. I have friends that takes home $200 plus daily driving Uber and delivering food for Grubhub and Doordash even without "Shola". I also have a Doctor friend who left Nigeria four years ago, I can't even calculate his annual salary to avoid unnecessary heartaches.

Life in the US is all about planning and connecting the right people. The people that you interact with every day, whether it's at home, work or on the streets, and their beliefs and opinions influences your beliefs and opinions. There are too many basic IT and Engineering jobs paying 25/hr and still begging for applicants. No one left Nigeria to eat burgers here.

Someone in Nigeria will still tell people in the US that they can't work and be successful without "papers" in the US. It's laughable because the person without the "paper" is actually making dollars as we deliberate here.

Leave people queueing at the embassy/consulate to make their own decision. I took my own decision after holidaying in the US for the fourth time in two years and no regret so far. People make dollars here daily except they choose not to work and it's the reality.

Abeg, make I go hustle small. I get bills to pay for here and Naija.

Funny enough when you say basically 60% Akatas are rejects from their own community... truth be told they are not much different from the Nigerians that are doing fraud both in American and elsewhere .. Like Jayz said " A spade is a spade it is what it is " Nigerians do have negative reputation just as worse as the Akatas .. Bad is bad

- Naija -> School in US -> OPT -> H1B -> Eb2/Eb3/Eb4 employment based GreenCard

Well said.

I just want to add. The easiest like you said is marriage, but it is a dangerous route. It is very delicate and complicated. It is the option for people with no other alternatives. However, if one is succesful, there is a legit way around it. And after success, one does not even want it again. I do not think Dangote, Adenuga or Alakija wants dual citizenship again. God that puts you in Nigeria did not make any mistake. Even you do not have the intention of using a girl or arrange it, you will have to prove yourself beyond reasonable doubt before she accepts. Excpet the stupid ones who take it lightly. I do not have the strength to prove anything to anyone after I have convinced my conscience that I tried telling her the truth. You do not believe me, get the fvck outta my way. Next!

A friend told me they gave him permanent resident (a.k.a green card) but when I saw his international passport it wasn't there so he told me that US embassy don't put such visa inside international passport like the way B1B2 visa are done, that they only send his international passport to USA for clearance to homeland security and FBI for clearance to know if he has been convicted before in any crime or terrorism and later they returned it to Baltimore in u.s, before sending it back to us embassy in Nigeria for collection and he can't be able to see the social security number on it except if they scan it on the system, that's what the man who helped him said. So he can only travel from Nigeria to U.S with the permanent residents ( green card ) which will be given to him by u.s, consulate on the day he will be traveling to u.s, once his flight ticket is ready, and the man who helped him said The consulate doesn't have any right to open it, that immigration can only open it at the port of entry in USA because the package is not just the card but it contain all his documents which the man who helped him file for him and they can't give it to him until the day of his departure because that's what they will use to access his information on the system before he will be captured and finger printed at the port of entry over there. And this my friend is being help by a man aged 55/60 he met at the international airport and the man came back from USA and he said his a citizen over there and they both met at British airways office inside airport while he came with a friend to confirm ticket. So he asked me to bring my passport so that the man will help me. And few weeks ago he introduced the man to me, which I met him in person. But I want to know if their story and the permanent residents (green card) process is genuine on how it's been issued including the international passport clearance stuff before giving him my own? Please I need your guidelines and vital information on this. Anyone can also be of help thank you God bless you.

Op and other Yankee residents I have a few questions to ask
1) For the married ones in naija, will they have to state single during visa application in order for them to get married to a whity American or it doesn't matter, if this is the surest means of acquiring a GC.If in this situation naija wify is very understanding.
2) I heard that you can acquire legalized papers to work in yankee all you have to do is pay some money, as much as $10,000 in some cases or less perhaps even more.
3) People also get their legalized papers by going to the immigration office to change their status.
Pls throw more light on these

Please no one should give this guy an answer, you guys treat woman as scum, which woman in her right senses want to share her husband, no values again in the society ,go and learn programing for free online and take care of your family.

This is the truth and nothing but the truth,am currently here , and with wat I have seen and my ears have heard ,man it's simply not worth it.

Like the op said ,u have to marry a citizen to get a green card and hope that the person you married understands that it's simply a business arrangement, but if the person develops feelings for you, men you are screwed. But as always there is a way,

Some states in the USA have faster processing time for work permit/green card than others and there is a big market here for arranged marriage, even churches/pastors are involved, meet the right pple and the will point you in the right..

The ones I pity the most are married folks here with family, I have a friend here who moved with her entire family, she is currently pregnant and her husband has married a citizen and rented another ...

like which country?

The problem you have is shortsightedness. Your lack of exposure limits your abiity to see beyond your limited thinking.

Here you are again writing ARRANT GIBBERISH!!!!

I chose to give you examples of how our parents did it back then just to show you life/marriages are not black or white.

And that is a very Poor choice of example because, AGAIN, life/marriage back in our parents days is way different than now.... Expecting anyone to live/act today like in the past is not only wrong but also very foolish.

Look at all the ARRANT IRRELEVANT GIBBERISH you just wrote... Do you even understand English?!
NONSENSE #1 you talk of immigration to the US with a green card gained via visa lottery while this issue is about someone who plans to relocate to the US without a valid visa to immigrate to the US.

NONSENSE #2 if a married person gains a visa lottery then he/she can simply add their spouse (and even minor children) to their successful application. There is NO NEED for their spouse to be left behind. The people who go back, after few years for their spouse, are usually those who leave without a valid mean to work/live in the US (aka the OP issue) and get married in the US to gain legal means to stay in the US..... thus when they finally get permanent residency (or citizenship) they go back for their partner. Now there is nothing wrong with that (to each their own misery) but as i stated earlier, if that's the plan then let BOTH party agree to it BEFORE leaving (aka having a common plan)

Your theory is ridiculous and holds no weight,

What theory exactly are you talking about?! The one i gave 2buffagain about this issue not being a straightforward one, or the theory i gave you about what it means to be in a r/ship?!?!?!?!?!

Here it is again:
MrBrownJay1:

A r/ship is a partnership, so the moment your partner is thinking of LEAVING FOR GREENER PASTURE without you, and with no aim whatsoever, then that partnership is dead and gone. There is a time when people have to face reality and accept the writing on the wall...... Hanging on for "god knows what" is simply a waste of time/energy/life.
