I've seen enough already.
This one is even saying Melchizedek was confused. grin
Goodbye
You always know you will get educated whenever you stretch your head above the parapet. If you are really that knowledgeable about tithe, it's mention and introduction to the Bible, you would have learned that Abraham after slaughtering the King's, as per the prevailing custom after winning a battle, had to give tithes of spoil of the war or battle to a priest cum king of the land. Abraham being a relatively new convert to his new faith, found Melchizedek to be the closest to a priest and king worthy to him who he can give the tithe of the spoul of war to. After all, Melchizedek is a priest of El Elyon, as in, God the Most High. Melchizedek never mentioned Yahweh as being his God but Abraham qualified and made it known that, as for him, he worships El Elyon who is Yahweh.

Stop lying, no one said Melchizedek was confused. You are up to your silly games again. It is very clear in the Bible, that Melchizedek never acknowledged and know God to be Yahweh, it was Abraham who made it a point of duty to publicly announce and make it known.

The same Melchizedec speaking below?

And [Melchizedek] blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And [Abraham] gave him tithes of all.
– Genesis 14:20 KJV

If Melchizedec wasn't serving Jehovah, do you think Abraham would have tithed to him?

Look, I know your kind and how tested your beliefs are. I also remember how you ran away when I requested for some answers from you when you said you were going to go and dig the forums of Mesopotamia for artifacts. grin

Do you read the Bible carefully and properly to understand at all? Did you at all, take in what I wrote up there, that Abraham gave the tithes to Melchizedek because he was the closest to what and who Abraham believes in?

alBHAGDADI did you not read in Genesis 14:22, where Abraham surpassed how Melchizedek addressed God, when he mentioned God by the name Yahweh that Melchizedek never used

Sebi, you said Melchizedek was a high priest alBHAGDADI? Where is your evidence that Melchizedek is/was a high priest alBHAGDADI please?

Horlufemi:
And blessed be God Most High, who has defeated your enemies for you.” Then Abram gave Melchizedek a TENTH of all the goods he had recovered. The king of Sodom said to Abram, “Give back my people who were captured. But you may KEEP for yourself ALL the goods you have recovered.” Abram replied to the king of Sodom, “I solemnly swear to the Lord , God Most High, Creator of heaven and earth, that I WILL NOT TAKE SO MUCH AS A SINGLE THREAD OR SANDAL THING FROM WHAT BELONGS TO YOU. Otherwise you might say, ‘I am the one who made Abram rich.’ I will accept only what my young warriors have already eaten, and I request that you give a fair share of the goods to my allies—Aner, Eshcol, and Mamre.”
Genesis 14:20‭-‬24 NLT

Abraham gave only 10% and returned the rest to the king of Sodom.

If we are obligated to follow Abraham we will have to give 10% and return 90% to employers or clients. grin.

If you really want to be rich go to business school. The only thing you can get from Jesus is the salvation of your soul for the new world he's gone to prepare.

Prosperity Gospel is pure heresy and not what Jesus preached. There is no earthly reward apart from piece of mind about the second coming of Christ.

Do not be deceived.

What you just did is to clearly insult God for receiving tithe out of what you say didn't belong to Abraham.

Show us where I criticized or rubbished Abraham's tithing from warspoils or keep shut forever.

One simple question you've been dancing around...

How does Abraham's once in a lifetime tithe from war spoils become a basis for Christians to part with 10% of their monthly income?

It shows that we are to acknowledge God with our substance and see him as the source of whatever we' victoriously get. Just as Abraham gave a tenth to God to show recognition that God have him the victory over those kings, we are to give God a tenth to show that he gave us the job that paid us.

Abraham is the Father of our faith and the things he did are things we his children ought to do, except those ones the new testament clearly ruled out. If Abraham's tithing wasn't meant for us to follow, it won't have been written in the Bible. Since it is written as a doctrine, and no portion of the new testament rules it out, then we ought to follow that example because all scriptures are given for instructions and are profitable for doctrine.

2Tim.3 Verses 16 to 17
[16] All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
[17] That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.

Funny you. How many times do you want me to bust this rubbish list of yours?

Concerning shaving the sides of a man's hair, Paul already abolished that in the new testament when he said a Christian shouldn't wear long hair as a man. How are we supposed to keep out hair short if we dont shave?

Concerning clothing, all you listed up there have been abolished by Paul who didn't mention any of those tefflin and junk you listed up there when he mentioned how a Christian shouldn't dress.

What about the law against eating certain things? Paul also abolished that when he said we can eat all things.

I would have loved to touch everything you listed up there, but I dont have the time. Moreover, I'm not here to convince you because you are lost already. I'm only here for my brothers so they won't be deceived by satanists like you.

Now, can you show me where the new testament abolished tithing?

Per the bolded part of your quote, why can't you admit that Paul abolished tithing when he clearly mentioned this in 2 Corinthians 9 v 7?
Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

You are a total disgrace to Christendom. So anyone who is against tithing is a Satanist?

If you're asked to bring evidence of me being a Satanist, I guess you'll use the Holy Spirit as a convenient excuse that He revealed it to you.

You're also fond of putting words into people's mouth with false accusations...like you accused me of criticizing Abraham's tithe...

You're a sorry excuse for a Christian. Go and bow down to your god (mammon)

With or without money... the Church of Christ shall continually march on!

Each one must give as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

2 Corinthians 9:7 King James Version (KJV)
Every man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him give; not grudgingly, or of necessity: for God loveth a cheerful giver.

Paul was talking about giving, not paying. You give offerings to God but when it comes to tithe, it is called paying. You pay it because you owe it. That's why God said you are robbing him when you fail to pay your tithe. It belongs to God, not you. Or when did God's property stop being his own? Show me a verse.

An example is you paying your rent to the landlord when it is due. You can't say you gave it to the landlord, as if it's a gift. You owed him and therefore paid it.

So, Paul wasn't talking about tithes in the passage you quoted. He was talking about offerings which he said we should give cheerfully and not grudgingly. If we are going to give it grudgingly, then it's best we don't because no one is forcing us neither does it belong to anyone but us. But as for tithes, we are to pay it or else the devourer will come because it is not ours.

Now, you are trying to make it look like Paul contradicted a command of Jesus concerning tithing. Yes, Jesus commanded tithing in Mathew 23:23.

Matthew 23:23 King James Version (KJV)
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

You might be cunning to say Jesus was talking to the scribes and Pharisees and was during the time of the law. So, are you saying that we should also dump judgment, mercy and faith along with tithe because we are not under the law? No, we are not. That's why Jesus said to do everything as seen in the above verse.

The author and finisher of our faith had the best opportunity to abolish tithing just as he did with some of the laws, but he didn't. Now who are you to say it is over?

As long as Jesus commanded for judgment, mercy, faith and tithing to continue, then it stands and we are going to continue preaching it.

Mathew 28:19-20
19 Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost:
20 Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.

You could only address the part where I called you a Satanist.

If you are hiding behind Matthew 23 v 23 to validate tithing. Then bear in mind that;

1) Jesus was talking about tithing in line with the Mosaic Law ( a tithe of mint, dill or cummin is not monetary tithe)

2) Jesus had not fulfilled the Law at that point in time. But if you insist the Mosaic Law still applies to Christians today. Can you tell us why you are not obeying these instructions? Can you show us where Jesus or the Apostles reversed them?

Look at the passage below to see Jesus speaking to them. But a blind bat like you will say Christians are free to do those things which Jesus condemned them for.

Matthew 23:13-39 King James Version (KJV)
But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye shut up the kingdom of heaven against men: for ye neither go in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering to go in.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, and for a pretence make long prayer: therefore ye shall receive the greater damnation.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.
Woe unto you, ye blind guides, which say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor!
Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?
And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever sweareth by the gift that is upon it, he is guilty.
Ye fools and blind: for whether is greater, the gift, or the altar that sanctifieth the gift?
Whoso therefore shall swear by the altar, sweareth by it, and by all things thereon.
And whoso shall swear by the temple, sweareth by it, and by him that dwelleth therein.
And he that shall swear by heaven, sweareth by the throne of God, and by him that sitteth thereon.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin, and have omitted the weightier matters of the law, judgment, mercy, and faith: these ought ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.
Ye blind guides, which strain at a gnat, and swallow a camel.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye are like unto whited sepulchres, which indeed appear beautiful outward, but are within full of dead men's bones, and of all uncleanness.
Even so ye also outwardly appear righteous unto men, but within ye are full of hypocrisy and iniquity.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye build the tombs of the prophets, and garnish the sepulchres of the righteous,
And say, If we had been in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partakers with them in the blood of the prophets.

Not to wear shaatnez, a cloth woven of wool and linen — Deut. 22:11

Do you see Paul talking about Shaatnez when he spoke of how a Christian should dress?

1 Timothy 2:1
In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel, with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array;

Not to sell the cherem — Lev. 27:28

Leviticus 27:28
Notwithstanding no devoted thing, that a man shall devote unto the LORD of all that he hath, both of man and beast, and of the field of his possession, shall be sold or redeemed: every devoted thing is most holy unto the LORD

This one still stands. That's why Jesus said give unto caeser what belongs to him and to God what belongs to God. Since you've dedicated something to God, you have no right to use it for another purpose.

Didn't I explain to you that though Jesus was talking to the Pharisees, what he was saying can still be applicable to Christians? An example is the below part of the passage which reads...

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye make clean the outside of the cup and of the platter, but within they are full of extortion and excess.
Thou blind Pharisee, cleanse first that which is within the cup and platter, that the outside of them may be clean also.

How does this apply to Christians today?

You see, many ladies love to wear sexy and revealing clothes but won't want anyone to caution them that God doesn't like such. The excuse they give is that it is the heart God sees, not the outward look. But have you ever asked why they dress so sexy and almost Unclad? It is because of the rubbish they have inside their heart which is something they have inside them. That content is what is reflecting in their outward look. Had it been they don't have that rubbish inside them, their outward look won't reflect that. That's why you see a decent lady feeling uncomfortable when offered to wear skimpy clothes.

The case of the Pharisees is even worse because they keep an outward look of righteousness but inside of them is filled with rottenness. As Christians, we are to avoid living like that. But a blind bat like you say we can live like that because Jesus didn't call our name when he was speaking against such. grin

Even though Jesus mentioned the Pharisees, every passage in Mathew 23 was Jesus talking to everyone, especially his disciples who might want to toe the path of the Pharisees. He was simply telling us what and what not to do. If Jesus was angered by certain things the Pharisees did to the point of him saying woe unto them, then we christians need to avoid those things so woe won't be unto us.

Dear Mr. Tithe Fanatic. I didn't insult God I only destroyed your twisted understanding of Abraham's (no covenant yet) Abram's tithe that it has nothing to do with the mosaic tithing. Unless you are looking for a reward for your religiousness on Earth which won't happen. If you want to be rich go to business school or give money to those in need you'll be blessed. Trust me.

It was Melchizedek that collect Tithe not God. At least you can read for yourself. He gave 10% to Mel, and returned the rest to King of Sodom.

Only thing he took was that his young men were fed.

I swear I'll start tithing now now now. Yeah, that's right you can't.

When tithes were given under Mosaic law, was it God that received it or the levitical priesthood? So why say Abraham didn't give his tithe to God when he gave it to his priest Melchizedec?

Tithing is not meant to make you rich but to help prevent all those nonsense devourers that make you spend uselessly.

This man is still propagating these lies that tithing is there to help prevent all those nonsense devourers that make you spend uselessly. I stopped obligatory or imposed ecclesiastical monitised tithing donkey years ago, and I have never had a second moment of regret. It has been blessing galore, good success and health in leaps and bounds since last time I tithed in that manner.
