You guys must be smiling with this crazy sunlight/heat right now. |
oluwaseunla:XC90 I don't know if the system is clean or dirty. How would I know? |
Ok now I'm really confused. Car AC works really well. Cold room level of cooling. On Wednesday I drove car somewhere, AC was working. Had to park in that really crazy sun for hours. When I got back to car, AC did not cool again. Blowing well though, but warm air. Thought the heat had something to do with it. Wednesday Evening, on the drive home, it still didn't cool Thursday morning, 5:30A.M. ish everywhere was cool. It still didn't cool. Same in the evening. Same on Friday. At this point I'm assuming there's a leak and no gas in system, etc etc. Saturday morning, started car, and just tried it again. It's started cooling. Cooling so well the windows are fogged up and wet on the outside ![]() Please what could be going on? |
radautoworks:Oh so sorry. Keep mixing that up with yours. https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p/carquest-engine-coolant-thermostat-13967/5653495-P?searchTerm=Thermostat Really really old truck belonging to an uncle. Nissan D21. Lord knows.... Ugh . It's the thermostat. |
Hello Radautoworks Please do you have/can source this Thermostat? Part Number: TX17077 https://m.autozone.com/cooling-heating-and-climate-control/thermostat/mahle-thermostat/879959_851835_25674?aqs= |

maybe e scarce for PH |
seanfer:its called Torque |
CityNGR:You never drink this beer finish? Oya take this one. I don set profile for my scanner, set cost of fuel at 145 Naira, come log my morning commute. According to my ECU, na 233 Naira e cost me from Yaba to Lagos in my Jalopy. What do you have to say about that, accurate fuel measurer ![]()

GAZZUZZ:So I've replaced the Catalytic converter. Cleared the code. 2 days later, Check Engine light returned. Threw a P0420 again. Tried one of those fuel cleaner things and the light stayed out for a week or so. I don't think the catalyst is the problem. Anyway, the attached pictures are what the scanner is showing now. NB: there's a check engine light now, but no error codes showing up

iamarachi:ok. noted. He works out of Ladipo? |
This high mileage Skoda Octavia went over 800 miles on 50+ litres of fuel (one full tank). https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5oPShT1DFSI WHEW!!! |
LOOK UNDER THE TOKUNBOH CAR YOU ARE INSPECTING FOR PURCHASE. what you may find there will shock you!!!! don't restrict your inspection to engine, interior and driveability only. you will be shocked what you will find |
Stop hating on Chinese manufacturers. They are doing their best, considering where they are coming from. We na just to dey consume we know. Make we sef do our own |
CityNGR:LMAO. Ok. My motor, old school SUV, the odometer used to read half of the distance that I cover. E.g if I drive for 10miles, the Odometer will show 5 miles. That's my problem ![]() |
CityNGR:LOL DON'T YOU GET IT!!!! IM SAYING THE CAR IS REPORTING HALF OF THE TRUE MILEAGE/CONSUMPTION it means i'm actually saying its 1 litre to to 8.6 km by your own calculation( if thats the true calculation.), real consumption. your corolla does 1 litre to 100 km? again, i'm trying to find out why my car reports half of mileage/consumption? Meanwhile if the 2017 Corolla is rated 6.1L to 100KM, then my old SUV is actually doing very very well, don't you think?
|
CityNGR:Which one is your dead in this issue? The vehicle is rated at 15mpg by the manufacturer for City driving....... I'm not complaining about fuel consumption Oga, I'm asking why the vehicle is reporting half of the mileage and consumption. |
seanfer:98thousand naira ni sensor chief Free that sensor o ![]() |
seanfer:There's another like 20km not included in that waka calculation above. But then, it's a SUV , not a corolla car. I'm sure it's consuming more fuel than it should, but I don't think a lot is a good description. It has some o2 sensor/running rich ish going on........ What would be the efficient consumption range for a old SUV that's driven in Lagos traffic? Manufacturer estimates 15-17mpg for City driving for the vehicle BTW. And that's new, oyinbo city with premium gasoline driving. Corolla level consumption is nice and all, but unrealistic for large SUVs in my view |
kingreign:Yaba/Akoka |
Mine triggered when my lights and fender were removed to access the radiator without removing the battery head. been looking for someone with a Airbag scan tool to clear it for me. |
timifakay:lol. did a quick google distance estimate search for my commute. Agidingbi to Yaba = 9.4 Miles my Yaba to Island commute daily is 21.5 Miles. 21.5 x 4 days = 86 Miles Yaba to Ogba (College Road) = 14.2 Miles Ogba to Magodo = 11 Miles Yaba to Ladipo = 5.6 Miles Magodo to Yaba = 14.2 Miles Total (excluding the short waka around area) =140.4 Miles Fuel at Quarter Tank. Consumed is 52.6 Litres 140.4 Miles to 52.6 Litres. just occurred to me that the car reports exactly half of the Mileage. |
Abdomox:Since you don't know when it was last done, what was put Into it and how it was used/abused I'd recommend you do a full service and inspection using the manufacturer recommended oils and parts. Some things like plugs may not need to be changed for now. Keep the parts you remove from it especially if they are the original OEM parts. Then reset the current drive odometer and start following the manufacturer schedule |
timifakay:Ok. My fuel tank is 70 Litres. I bought a full tank. When the fuel gauge was at half, the odometer read about 70miles. So I asked the question because it scared me. The maths looked very bad. But in reality, when I considered my driving distances it didnt add up hence the second post. Engine is a 2.5 litre 5 plug. Volvo vehicle. Let me give another example. I bought a full tank on Friday Drove home. Saturday morning, drove to Ladipo from Yaba. Returned back to Yaba Lots of traffic, full AC use. Sunday went from Yaba to Ogba, to Magodo, back to Yaba through Bariga. Monday through Thursday Yaba to Lagos via 3rd MB to and fro. My Yaba to Lagos commute is 10.75 miles both ways. I'm now at quarter tank or slightly less. |
radautoworks:The bolded...... How so? |
seanfer:Lol. I'm not sure I understand what is happening. Is it possible that a car reports wrong fuel/distance consumption That's what the car mileage reports vis a vis my fuel BUT REALITY IS: I usually do 21 miles daily averagely (home to work is 10.75 miles) and use between 3,500 - 4,000 Naira fuel for Monday to Friday 3rd MB traffic and AC inclusive. That's like 105 miles to 35 litres. Note that I don't usually get to tank reserve by Friday evening and the car reserve is like 8 litres or more sef. So you can as well say it's 105 miles to 30 litres. But the car dash reports what I posted earlier. Which is why I asked.... |
radautoworks:radautoworks Please give me a quote for o2 sensor bank 1 for a Volvo XC90 2004 2.5L AWD |
