Hello, i've this strange issue. I have a HP G3 250. It boots VERY VERY slowly. NOT THE OS, but the BIOS screen. stays there for like 9 minutes. when the OS boots its works OK for such an old laptop. Common issue i thought, so i tried to fix it. 1. I've upgraded the BIOS 2. i've tested the hard drive and the RAM multiple times with various tools. They pass all tests. 3. I've tried clean install Windows OS. 4. I've tried other OS, Linux and even ChromeOS same thing. What is really weird is after it boots up, it works fine (for its age). doesn't lag I was sure it was the hard drive, but there aren't any errors on that drive and it passes all tests. The RAM seems to be ok too, i've tried running linux off the RAM alone and it worked. i'm stumped. Please quote with replies so i can track your responses |
mosho2good:Model number How much? |
TheOdd1sOut:The screen was on for 2 HOURS, and you lost 15% battery and this is supposed to be bad? 8 hours SCREEN ON TIME is bad? You must be having a Laugh. Likely its one of you guys half assed marketing threads anyway |
Agbi4:APN: Ntel Everything else blank. If it asks for MCC and MNC (some phones ask) it's 621 40 respectively. |
It's compensation for the network issues........ |
At this moment, 9:38AM ,Sunday 5 August 2018, the Ntel portal is working fine. Don't know about 9:40 A.M ooo ![]() |
Lol See people giving excuses for a Billion dollar corporation Like they don't already monetise the app by spying on all your information to serve targeted ads Nigerians are the easiest set of people to wash. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sbNv9MP27xE |
Apparently when you are on an unlimited plan NTEL to NTEL VoLTE Calls are free. But to call other networks you will need to subscribe. Interesting |
Major blast from the past!!! I have to crow a little cos all my posts here were SPOT ON!!!!!! Tech Nostradamus ![]() |

You get RN3SE screen? |
I think RN%l5 ai is close to MIUI 10 Global stable rom release. 8.8.2 ROM is super stable, the volte icon has changed from HD to VoLTE, and for the first time ever for me it locked on Ntel 4G without having to be cajoled and massaged. Hope it stays that way |
Had anyone here experienced this thing where your sim card suddenly stops working? My wawu Sim is not being recognized by any device again, and I have data on it .... Arrrrrgh |

WINE is working fine on 18.04. http://ubuntuhandbook.org/index.php/2018/06/wine-3-11-released-how-to-install-it-in-ubuntu-18-04/ |
Without a shadow of doubt, this Unlimited Weekly plan is throttled. Finally got activated at 1 AM. Tried to activate for more than 24hrs. 133KBps on my speed meter. The wawu Sim is getting 1.5Mbps. and above. Should have just done wawuu plan with the 3k. Needed to do some downloads and would have been better off with the 48Gb sef that I could quickly account for instead of this nonsense that will take all year to get 1 file. |
So there's no hope for Solomon Grundy? 2 months maintenance after 4 months skeletal broadcast. Na wah i |
Trying to sub weekly plan on a regular Sim, thus far, it's faili6 at quickteller 500 naira night plan is also not going at all. I should seriously consider Swift at this point. It's just the steep cost (considering that I have other networks to jump on without paying so much for starters) of joining the network that's putting me off |
When was the last time anytime here activated a plan on Ntel successfully? I suspect that company is in the verge of going under. They've closed all their customer care mediums. Most outlets are skeletal service or shut. I've had to enable ping in the background permanently to stop the connection from timing out all the time. Ugh |
pyrex23:HDR is on the viewfinder when you open the camera app. Top left corner. You literally cannot miss it.
|
itsloba:lol. you must have subbed the wrong plan did you sub WAWU plan? its different from the regular plans. its under data only plans. it shows up on only WAWU sims dashboard. |
is this the same on your RN5? i thought it was supposed to be level 3 on 8.1.0
|
you people will leave picture quality settings at default, not even bother use HDR, then ontop be posting compressed 400kb pictures for camera comparison nairaland. smh |
Ntel portal is working at this time. 7:02 AM Saturday 21 July Next 5 mins might be too late. . |
gidieberry:Lol. LMFAO. Interesting to be techsplained. Meanwhile, FYI your entire post is actually horseshit. The ARB is a firmware feature. You can easily move to the affected rom versions sef, as long as you don't upgrade the firmware. You CAN flash whatever MIUI rom you want provided you DO NOT FLASH THE FIRMWARE to the ARB affected one If you delete the firmware folder in the rom and edit the update script, you can flash it. Meanwhile, Xiaomi's ARB implementation is wrong. There's a good reason why you don't hear complaints from other OEM users . Even on Pixels you can downgrade. Xiaomi's flashtool currently won't downgrade the firmware even in EDL mode. The above and a lot more, is why it isn't the best idea to advice noobs to flash their xiaomi phones at this time. The reason you can move to custom ROMs is because they usually don't include the firmware folder in them.... I know exactly why I made that post, my friend and it's not for the benefit of folks like you that know how to flash a zip. Smh |
LMAO Na wah o. People will just arrange scam to fleece marketers and customers of their hard earned money without fear in this country . All na business |
This entire anti roll back saga has me shook. Basically Xiaomi has ruined the entire update/custom rom scene. Best believe this is not a great time to be advising people to flash this or that. Cos if the phone hard brick penren, issolova. It will take a lot of luck to get it back up. And that's coming from a person for whom tinkering is 2nd nature. Anyways, it's time to invest in a deep flash cable sef. |
DrollyForce:Did you subscribe to a voice plan? You usually have free minutes for ntel to ntel calls. You need to subscribe to a voice plan, theirs is not like the other telcos that you just use the credit on the line to call........ |
mhizpinky:You need fastboot rom. Hold the power button down until it goes off. Hold the vol down button whilst it restarts, it will boot into fastboot mode. As long as the device still starts, the fastboot mode will work Use this tool to boot reboot from fastboot into EDL mode https://androidfilehost.com/?fid=817906626617936431 Then use flashtool to flash the rom. |
daamazing:I never said it was fast..... Just usable. |
So that is the end of Solomon Grundy? (Tstv?) |
daamazing:Google |
blackweaver:All that green. Seriously, I don't like it. Backlog of beef with Clem and his Ubuntu sniping to gain users for Mint. And I don't like Mint apps, their software app, duplication. Pretending to be a standalone distro but really just a Ubuntu spin. Yes. I've got beef. |
