I will explain this one last time.

the feature is an android feature.

Samsung implemented it in touchwiz by default.

not all apps on touchwiz can be used in multi window. (u need a hack to do that, which means u will be rooted and install other things)

you need the application itself to support usage in that way... which is the job of the dev.

the dev can only make it possible by using android software code.

it is a feature of android code that can be used even without it being in the framework.

I run CyanogenMod and I run those things in the screenshot. Samsung did not make CyanogenMod.

Dikachiii: thanks a lot for helping when others are ignoring, I really do appreciate.
Look at the scenario.
1, I upgraded to JB and once wifi is on MN goes off.
2, Drifta connects via wifi and once I connect Mobile network goes off.
3, Drifta needs to authenticate my device through Mobile network which is now off (so it shows no internet and drifta won't work).
4, If I authenticate first before I connect wifi to drifta it won't find my decoder cos it needs to be connected to drifta before you open drifta app and authenticate.
5, It works well on my iphone and pc and worked well before I upgraded to JB.

Hope you understood my issue, would be glad if you could profer a solution. Would really feel bad if I have to downgrade cos of drifta after installing all apps I need and customizing my phone. Thanks a lot for always helping solve my issues, once again, I do really appreciate.

as far as i know no version of android will do what u want so i suggest you shelve d downgrade idea.

i have not used a drifta with a droid so i wouldnt know how its supposed to work but i daresay it wont be the way u perceive it.

back when i used it with symbian it was just bluetooth. i dont think it uses data to work...... maybe authenticate but then either wifi or mobile data will be ok n u wouldnt need to switch.

why does ur wifi not have data?

u mean u have to be on the same wifi as ur decoder to use a drifta?

its not adding up...

if u connect via wifi and it has data any authentication does not really require falling back to mobile. if the app has the necessary permissions it will pick your mobile number and other info for auth....

of which is any of ur connections either wifi or mobile data via any fbt tweak? because that could be the problem.....

is there not a manual or howto for android n drifta? locate one and read to be sure what u are doing is correct. nobody will make a droid app that requires you to use both mobile data and wifi. it wont happen on android

Samsung, sony. And i also installed some of this for someone running the big T yesterday.

In my screenie only 1 app is a samsung app. The others are whatsapp+ floating youtube player, popup browser, floating browser.
It works on any droid.

Go to the market. Install popup browser, floating browser, popup youtube player etc.

Infact just type popup or floating in the search bar and you will see countless apps. Even google just updated the official youtube app with this feature...

On sony ericsson there are mini-apps that run like this.

Point is : IT IS NOT A SAMSUNG FEATURE. Infact samsung implementation is for two fixed windows side by side.

The ability to run more than one app at once either in the background or onscreen is an android feature.

Just because samsung implemented it and other oems did not does not make it a samsung feature. Individual developers can make apps that take advantage of it.

Even samsungs implementation does not work for all apps. But u can hack it to work for all apps. These are some of the strengths of the android platform which has made it so popular.

Seriously though. The only reason I own only droids is because I've been spoiled by too much screen real estate. Typing on screens below 5" is painful

meanwhile i agree about real estate, i use only the biggest screens available for quite a few years but then i have big hands....

nokia is releasing a phablet soon, plus the 1020 is pretty large.

personally id be damned if i buy a phone i cant hack, love-vendor or mess with properly. i wont even buy one without removable battery.... my needs r unique tho. yet to own any device i did not take apart. even common bluetooth headset sef i dey open am

what about the numerous "pop up" browsers and mini-apps that run on top of whatever it is you are doing?
lots of them are even in the playstore sef for any device.

Multitasking does not mean running more than one app on the screen at once, it means having more than one app "live" and running in processor and memory at once. most OS just cache into background and leave the whole processor and ram to the app running onscreen. thats why its not "true multitasking"

OpenVPN is not a "thing" OpenVPN is a VPN standard. its [b]open[/b]source VPN.

Its a free opensource software for enabling VPN.

Think of it as an "engine".


You have a vpn software in 2 parts. Server side and client side.
I own a server. i install openvpn server software. Then i configure it so that people can get access to it.
i may decide to make it open, or i decide to lock it (password it) so u need a username and password to access it.
i may also decide that you pay me some money to gain access.



you install the client application. you need a Configuration file that contains my server details to access it.

if i have passworded the access, then u need a password (and username) to get access. u also need some security certificate.....


so therefore, the configuration on my server is what will determine what you will access. For example if i want to use it for any network browsing now, i will configure the server to open that network's holes. e.g MTN now needs UDP protocol.

see its hard to explain in lay man terms. but the servers are not "from openvpn". they are somebody's server who uses openvpn software and opened access to some ports.

My point is..... You can make your own OpenVPN network....
