calm down and try explaining clearly. installing on vbox is similar to installing on real hardware.

i dont know what you googled but the last update for the P1000 is gingerbread.

where u saw jellybean is a mystery because even custom roms for that device are sooo few and far between and none beyond gingerbread is fully functional. i would know seeing that i used to own one.

I remembered something this evening that made me smile.

I bought an xperia x10 in 2009 thereabouts. It was the flagship Sony then and was practically the best phone around then..
Fast forward to 2011 it was an old school phone.
That shit had 1ghz single processor and 384mb ram. Awesome camera. That camera shats on most present day phones still.

By the time it was old I had bought the N900. But I liked that Sony so I kept tweaking it and using it.

I remember I would get some tweaks and kernel and stuff and apply. Learnt a lot with that phone.
I remember at a point I had over clocked the GPU n CPU and when I ran benchmarks on it it scored higher than the s2 and practically every phone in existence

That phone is still alive though I've given it out. Changed d casing n screen myself twice I think....



Memories..... So it really amuses me these days when I see people take some funny benchmark scores and say this device rivals a device more than 2 generations ahead. . With the right configuration a calculator can benchmark better than a core 3 processor.. Difference is that device will die quicker...... Which is why the OEM gave it sensible configuration.

But if benchmarks are your thing sure they will give u benchmark.. Nothing as sweet as self deceit.


That x10i presently runs cm 10.1. It was released with froyo. That's what a quality purchase gets u...

You know why this samsung you people hate so much is wildly successful?

they are arguably the most innovative and versatile company in the game.

No big player has a device that does not contain a part made by Samsung.

The biggest boys (Apple etc) order their processors etc from Samsung, custom built.

Samsung Expenditure on Research and Development is more than 3/4 of the industry combined.

Yet they still do so much work on differentiating their software (hate it or love it)


you seriously think a bit player ordering low grade parts from a shenzen dealer is better than this company because its prices are low?


let me give you the best example possible. read up on Google's nexus attempts at the low range. (ironically they try to use the best they can find for reasonable prices)... the Nexus 7? the Galaxy Nexus? read up how crappy those products turn out to be in the long run.....


the mobile market is a constantly evolving one. This years' flagship is a budget fone in 1 and half year's time. the goalpost is constantly moving.
The parts that are used in this years budget phones were used in proper devices in 2011. but the 2011 ones are now better than the 2013 ones because its cheaper?

do they use same quality hardware?

do they both commit to making sure the hardware is re-useable in private hands?

do they spend the same hours and manpower money on software?

do they make equal attempts at innovative features (hardware and software?

do they extend to similar markets?

do they spend similar amounts on publicity and marketing?

do they both provide similar after sales service and warranty?

do they both commit to supporting those devices by way of updates after they are sold?

do they commit to equal Quality Assurance Standards?

do they both commit to having to comply with standards in different markets?

do they spend equal amounts on Research and Development to ensure their products are viable?



there is a premium. the premium is not just because everybody is foolish with their money. YOU JUSTIFY THE PREMIUM OTHERWISE YOU ARE A GONER.


there have been countless phone makers in the world.... the question is which ones have committed to excellence?.

(before it was a CM base (so it could boot) with Ubuntu on top.)


nexus devices can now update daily to latest builds like a normal distro

Ports are being encouraged now to enable the same process for their devices.

matter of fact the only thing holding them down is that they need to authenticate the licenses for the non ubuntu drivers so that the roms will be built at source automatically and can be distributed.

(you cannot distribute people's code without having and knowing what license its released under and if you are actually allowed to distribute) We dont wanna get sued

for example there is no application ever written for IOS that will struggle on Ipad 4 IRRESPECTIVE OF THE SPECS. and of course till tomorrow no matter how much ram and specs a droid has, it will not run as smooth as IOS.

its more of an indictment of android as a platform that you need laptop specs in a mobile phone
