the problem was this in my previous phone 6600 and 3230 whenever i want to format them,i will go to c:/system folder and delete it and restart,it works for me.
So when i bought my 6680,whenever i played a music the phone will be hot which made me did what i normally did to previous phones which resulted in returning it twice(i did not know that was the cause then).
Until i started monitor to know what happened.
After, i now realised i'm the problem which cause me #3000.
The 3rd time its happened i just remove memory card and did hard formatting.Since then i've been enjoy my phone.Even something like that happen to my n73m(show power at start up after sometime will say phone start up failed contact retailer)
i don't need to go any where than to do hard formatting,the phone is ok.
You may not be the problem but atimes when you installed some app and uninstalled it,such problem may occur.What need to at such case is to remove your MMC before power on and the phone is ok.But now your phone is not with you,who knows whether they have screw your phone(which i personally hate).

in 2006 when i bought my 6680 i experienced something similar to yours.
this is message i got "phone start-up failed.Contact retailer"which lead to returning of the phone twice and they flash the phone and it works well.Until i discovered i was the phone problem.
