Amarabae:Nigeria was much more united then than now. As a curious kid then, I remember seeing people rigging, thumbprinting and stuffing ballot box in 1983. But not on the scale of 2015 and 2019. Tribe plays a much bigger role now. The worst thing that happened to Nigeria after Biafra war was coup plot to remove Shagari. It destroyed our best chance to grow before end of cold war. We lost relevance to the West (their investment, companies dried up) once cold War ended. People who understand world politics will understand. Even South West people still complain that Jonathan gave key cabinet positions to Igbo people. We shouid not sugarcoat anything. We are now a very religiously and ethically polarised nation. Living in Abuja often blinds many Southerners to reality. |

thank you! Buhari started by putting his cronies in strategic position in INEC and then taking control of all the security personnel, by changing police commissioners. and you don't even want to talk about all the money that was wasted in this election. during the Obasanjo administration, they were carrying money in Ghana must go bag but this time around they were carrying money in bullion vans Nigeria is a mess NkayStory: |

Stillthebest: Well written. If the South wants power in 2023 based on the written pact of 8 years between South and North then both parties APC and PDP must field Southerners. The north will vote for who they like as VPs. I see APC field EL Rufai/Ribadu as the VP while PDP fielding Kwankwaso/Tambuwal |

Amarabae:He wasn't vocal about it, but Hausa-Fulani know he's cosmopolitan, loves other ethnic groups like his own, hence, will not key into the Hausa-Fulani's agenda of born to rule. Besides, so many of them wanted to vote for him, but were forced to vote for Buhari or else they would be killed. Many Northerners didn't want Buhari. They were forced against their wish. Buhari is a virus. Also, so many Igbos and Yorubas were disenfranchised in Lagos. Results were inflated in favour of Buhari, while Atiku's votes were reduced. Don't blame the man. He won, but a devilish man is at the helm of affairs. So, he manipulated the result. When the wicked rules, the people cry and languish in pain, but when the righteous is in authority, the people rejoice. We should all be prayerful that the next 4 years will be fruitful. All i know is that the wicked can never go unpunished. It was not because he said he would sell NNPC that he was not voted for. He was actually voted for by so many educated men and women because of that. NNPC is a conduit pipe of corruption. So, he meant well by saying that. As for privatisation of NITEL, some people lost their jobs, but it was a good thing that happened to Nigerians, cos it created jobs for so many Nigerians, deregulated the telecom sector. Today, even a labourer can afford a phone. 2 Likes |

Blue3k: He might have but might have cost him votes in the North if he revealed. Politicians are always tactly so as not to anger the electorate. His plan to sell NNPC might have cost him votes among state oil workers who would have been petrified of loosing underserved jobs 2 Likes |

Amarabae: It was his campaign team. They didn’t do a thorough study and preparation on what Nigerians really wanted. Jobs jobs isn’t everything. How about power, housing, transport and other sectors Apc has failed to perform. Apc/buhari shud be the easiest thing to beat if u know ur onions cos they were failures in many areas obvious for Nigerians to see and buy Ur idea. NNPC Privatization idea was bad looking at his track record and poorly explained to convince people. Nobody really was comfortable with it tho a bold idea which might actually be good. Nice right up. |
