CHAPTER THREE Desmond came downstairs to find his brother waiting for him in the living room, his wife, Mirabel already told him that his brother was around, he shook his head, his brother had lost some weight because of an ordinary WILL. "Welcome big bro, how is Tracy your wife doing?" Desmond asked sitting on the sofa opposite. "She is fine, I saw Mirabel earlier, you are really taking good care of her" he commented with a blank expression. "Yea, that's the Lord's doing, what do i offer you?" He asked with a Wave of the hand. "Don't worry about that, am fine, I came for something important" "Am all ears" "It is about the estate that was Willed to you" "And what about it?" "I want it, it is my right as the first son, I don't know how Dad did it but that estate is mine" he replied keeping a straight face. "That's not possible bro, Dad gave it to me and am not letting it go, what is even so special about the estate that you are leaving the huge house at the Bahamas for it?" He asked folding his hand against his chest. "You don't need to know what is special about it, you can take the house at the Bahamas, but I need that estate" he hissed. "Am sorry bro, it has been Willed to me and that is the end, am going to take care of it" he said with a sigh. "I don't want to quarrel with you, at least you grew up with me in the same house, I get whatever I want which you know, just release that estate to avoid getting what you cannot handle" he thundered standing on his feet. "And I said I won't give it to you, just do your worst" Desmond said standing on his feet too. "You have made your decision, don't say I didn't warn you, my regards to your wife, am gone" he patted his shoulder and left. Mirabel watched her husband as he slept soundly, she wondered why he was so calm despite the fight he had with his brother earlier the day. "Baby" she tapped him, he stretched and yawned but continued with his sleep. "Honey please wake up" she shook him harder this time. "What is it Mirabel? Why are you not asleep yet" Desmond asked trying to stiffle a yawn. "How can you easily sleep when you are at loggerheads with your brother? are you not troubled?" She asked with a worried expression. "Forget my brother, he will get back to his senses once he realizes that I don't have plans of letting him get hold of that estate" he replied fully opening his eyes. "Don't you think you should give it to him? He is your elder brother and I saw the fire burning in his eyes when you were talking with him, am scared for your life" she replied. "My brother won't do anything to me, he doesn't have a bad mind, and as for the estate, am not giving it to him, goodnight, I want to sleep" he replied facing the other side of the bed. Barrister Nathan sat down in his office going through some files when Derrick barged into his office with his secretary following behind. "Sir, I tried to stop him but he was stubborn" Sandra said while eyeing Derrick. "Don't worry Sandra, you can go, I will handle him" Barrister Nathan said. "Okay sir" she left but not without eyeing Derrick for the umpteenth time. "What is the meaning of this Derrick? Why did barge in to my office like that?" He asked removing his spectacles. "That is not why am here, how much do you need for a change of WILL?" He asked tapping his foot on the ground. "I don't understand, what do you mean?" He asked confused. "I need that estate, I don't know how you will do it, you can call a family meeting and tell them that you made a mistake, that the estate belongs to me, or you can do anything you want, I just need that estate" he said sighing out of frustration. "I will do no such thing, I have already read the WILL and that is the end of it" he replied with a shake of the head. "Alright Nathan, I guess I will do it my own way then" he stormed out. 1 Like |
