If it's a Christian university and you applied....why won't you obey their rules?

Sanusi Lamido and co went to missionary schools in kaduna and they had to do all the Christian prayers.

Kindly mention the year and tell us the race of the teachers and lecturers during that time and contrast to the present day.

MURIC is a fat liar. It is clearly stated on the school website that they are a faith-based University. And just like someone said, Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin forces everyone in respective of faith to wear hijabs. Ishaq Oloyede is just a foolish war-monger.

Nobody has answered this question yet:

Did ADELEKE UNIVERSITY refund Muslim applicants during the process of admission or did the authority not see Muslims then?

Why trying to compel someone into worshipping your god?

Is ADELEKE slated "CHRISTIAN UNIVERSITY" either?

Why Dem moslem students no go islam universities?
Give them an inch, they'll want a mile.

A Christian university should not go into personal faiths of non Christian's in an institution.
I know more than 8 state Universities in the north which have 80% Muslims but has never taught of interfering in other students faiths.

And what should those studying there do? Withdraw? Continue going to church till they graduate? Is this what you would have commented if it was a Muslim owned university forcing Christian students to go to mosque. You people are always quick question to tag others as intolerant and extremists but in reality you do worse.
You have answered it all, they should either apply for change of institution or continue go to church till they graduate. I am a Catholic but went to Anglican school

What difference does it make if they were white missionaries?

Even Covenant university forces it's nominal Christian students to do church activities. I can assure you they are not fans of it. But eventually it's for their own good. It's usually not to force anyone into becoming a christian it is to build morality. You think Sanusi and the rest who attended and became relative moral standards was by accident? Nope. It was the christian teachings

Now you know that it is a Christian University, so stay clear. Nigerians too like trouble. You can't go to another man's house and stamp your authority there. The owner of the school doesn't want a mosque in the school . Why don't we respect his policies?

Definately, some will be fresh while some are not.Don't let us drag this issue any further. just imagine if d case was reversed and it is CAN making such as accusation towards Adeleke university that they are Muslim school(which is not made known to d entire public) and they are forcing d Christians to attend mosque (which means they are forbidden from going to d Church). Am sure ur response will be different.
Although u are right....since Muslims are now aware,Muslims(that wants to safeguard is deen) should not choose d school.
U know we won't complain if d school is Bowen,Redeemer etc.But Adeleke university? I never thought that dat the school is a Christian school.

Change of institution between private universities? Is that even possible? At least you knew what you were getting into when you applied to the Anglican university, we can't say same for the students in this case.

a university that is purely Christians should indicate clearly. Like the music said, it was hidden and yes even when I googled about the school it never stated it were a Christian school.
Also why force Muslims to church? It's never done..

Do not Google, Google will not tell you every single detail, go to the school, collect their handout and see for yourself, simple.

Also, yes it is done, they will force Muslims to church e.g Convenant, Bowen and Bapcock same way Christians are forced to Mosque e.g AL-IQMA university e.t.c, deal will it.

fergie001:
The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has accused Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, of persecuting Muslim students in the institution.

This was contained in a statement on Tuesday by the Director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola.

“Adeleke University is a serial violator of Allah-given fundamental rights of Muslim students. This institution forces Muslim students to attend church on Sundays. It makes it mandatory for students living in the hostel to attend church every Wednesday and Saturday”, it read.

“The practice of any other faith on campus except Christianity is banned. Muslim students must not be seen observing Salat. Hijab is a taboo in Adeleke University. Yet all these Islamophobic practices are smartly hidden from prospective students of the institution until they have paid the exorbitant school fees and can no longer withdraw.”

MURIC called on the National Universities Commission (NUC) to come to the rescue of Muslim students in Adeleke University.

“In particular, we invite NUC to take a look at the students’ handbook of this institution, especially pages 7, 49, 50, 56 and 60. These pages, to our mind, contain rules that infringe on the religious freedom of Muslim students. As a regulating body, NUC has a duty to intervene in this matter as part of its oversight function on Nigeria’s universities.

“Such intervention is necessary at this juncture to enhance quality control. We remind NUC that man is body, soul and spirit. These three organs must function without hinderance for students to perform maximally. As things stand today, Muslim students of Adeleke University have been deprived of the spiritual component of their humanity. We therefore call on NUC to investigate this issue as a matter of urgency. Religious repression is a potential threat to peace, law and order.

“MURIC is aware that such practices of religious intolerance exist in a few other private universities. We therefore advise Muslim parents and Muslim students to take necessary precaution. They should investigate very well before picking universities of interest.

“Many private universities do not bear Christian names but they pursue Christian evangelical goals. Worse still, they lack the spirit of tolerance. Muslim candidates who have already chosen private universities where they are likely to become victims of Islamophobia are, therefore, advised to apply for a change of university before it is too late.”

This man is a rabble rouser and hate monger. angry He should tell us whether Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin and Crescent University, Abeokuta or Fountain University in Osogbo, allow Christians to hold worship services on their campus, or even build a church within their premises.

Christian students cannot practice their faith in these 3 institutions. Yet, no Christian religious leader, pastor or vicar has come out to make noise about these 3 universities. They even make it compulsory for female graduating students to wear hijab as part of their convocation robes, on graduation day.

Yet, this Muric man is busy shouting himself hoarse over Adeleke University and other private universities. Nansense! angry

I now know the reason why one of my friends left that school for Fountain University. I never knew that school is a Christian school like other Christian missionary schools.
Why must they compel non-Christian students to practice Christianity? From what Muric said, some of these conditions were hidden when students are applying.
That school is controlled by hypocrites and religious bigots.
