It is a faith base University agreed but do you know even the founder Dr Deji Adeleke do fast during Ramadan despite been a Four Square Member and when he gives Scholarships no body is exempted base on religion,do you know the former pro chancellor Alh Isiaka Adeleke is a Muslim .Well i believe religion is personal we should stop trivializing issues.Anyway I suspect this is a political statement.
Thank you for highlighting this fact. It shows that this Muric professor is just a rabble rouser.

That school is controlled by religious bigots. They have trampled on their religious rite which is against Nigeria constitution.

So Christians don't attend Atiku's private university situated in the core north or Atiku is not a northern Muslim again? Topics like this only successfully reveal who the real intolerant people are. STOP excusing bad behaviour because it is being done by someone that align with your beliefs. If by chance Atiku is forcing the non Muslims in his school to go for Jumat and not practice their faith, I will be amongst the people that will criticize him because not only is it unfair on them, the Quran preaches against it.

Do you really investigate something before coming here to type? All you said is rubbish because the Atiku University you mentioned is not 100% owned by him, that university is in partnership with the Americans that is why it is widely known as an AMERICAN UNIVERSITY that is why they have both churches and mosques there.

Then they should explicitly state that they don't want Muslims in their school. They collect exorbitant fees from the students and infringe on their religious rights, does that seem right to you? The school is not a church owned university, so why compel the students to practice another religion other than theirs?

Christians are always quick to scream ISLAMIZATION buy they're the worst sets of religious bigots out there.
You are absolutely right Sis. Imagine any Muslim school forcing Christians to go to the mosque. These hypocrites will start shouting ISLAMIZATION.

MURIC is a fat liar. It is clearly stated on the school website that they are a faith-based University. And just like someone said, Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin forces everyone in respective of faith to wear hijabs. Ishaq Oloyede is just a foolish war-monger.

Wearing Hijab Means Forcing Them To Convert To Islam Or Did They Force Anyone Of Em To Mosque?

Wearing Hijab Is Just A Uniform And Nothing Else.

am a Christian but forcing non christains to church is not good.... Al ikmat uni in kwara is a Muslim uni but christains are never forced to go to mosques.

Forcing our faith on others because they came for academic knowledge is not good....that is the oppression we've been preaching against, we shouldn't be doing it.

Even if there's no mosque there, forcing them to church is totally wrong.

The school did not hide it. Right on their website, it is clearly stated that they are a faith-based university. Can't the prospective students ask what kind of faith, are they practicing before filling admission forms??
Why can't they specify their religion affiliation, than just put a vague statement. They need to be called out. If you are a Christian school tell Nigerians where you belong to. When a parent sees a faith-based school, he or she would think the school is grounded in two dominated religion in Nigeria.

And what should those studying there do? Withdraw? Continue going to church till they graduate? Is this what you would have commented if it was a Muslim owned university forcing Christian students to go to mosque. You people are always quick question to tag others as intolerant and extremists but in reality you do worse.

It is clearly stated in Google that it is a faith based school, common sense should tell them to ask what kind of faith, and again, I have never seen a christian castigate a Muslim owned school forcing christians to mosques, na dem carry their leg there, no one forced them to go there.

The Muslim Rights Concern (MURIC) has accused Adeleke University, Ede, Osun State, of persecuting Muslim students in the institution.

This was contained in a statement on Tuesday by the Director of MURIC, Professor Ishaq Akintola.

“Adeleke University is a serial violator of Allah-given fundamental rights of Muslim students. This institution forces Muslim students to attend church on Sundays. It makes it mandatory for students living in the hostel to attend church every Wednesday and Saturday”, it read.

“The practice of any other faith on campus except Christianity is banned. Muslim students must not be seen observing Salat. Hijab is a taboo in Adeleke University. Yet all these Islamophobic practices are smartly hidden from prospective students of the institution until they have paid the exorbitant school fees and can no longer withdraw.”

MURIC called on the National Universities Commission (NUC) to come to the rescue of Muslim students in Adeleke University.

“In particular, we invite NUC to take a look at the students’ handbook of this institution, especially pages 7, 49, 50, 56 and 60. These pages, to our mind, contain rules that infringe on the religious freedom of Muslim students. As a regulating body, NUC has a duty to intervene in this matter as part of its oversight function on Nigeria’s universities.

“Such intervention is necessary at this juncture to enhance quality control. We remind NUC that man is body, soul and spirit. These three organs must function without hinderance for students to perform maximally. As things stand today, Muslim students of Adeleke University have been deprived of the spiritual component of their humanity. We therefore call on NUC to investigate this issue as a matter of urgency. Religious repression is a potential threat to peace, law and order.

“MURIC is aware that such practices of religious intolerance exist in a few other private universities. We therefore advise Muslim parents and Muslim students to take necessary precaution. They should investigate very well before picking universities of interest.

“Many private universities do not bear Christian names but they pursue Christian evangelical goals. Worse still, they lack the spirit of tolerance. Muslim candidates who have already chosen private universities where they are likely to become victims of Islamophobia are, therefore, advised to apply for a change of university before it is too late.”

Mr. Man when I said you should go and read history, I know you have less information. Have you read about the contributions of Islam and Muslims in the world, especially in Science, Mathematics, Medicine and Literature.

There are many things Western education/Christianity education copied from Islamic education. Muslims were the ones that started scholarships, rote learning which is still practiced till now. As at the time the Europeans were in Dark ages, the Muslim world were leading.

The Western power might colonised the Muslims now, because the Moorish Muslims from Africa controlled Iberian Penisula (Spain and Portugal) for more than 500 years. What about the Ottoman empire, the larges Muslim empire controlled from Palestine to Eastern Europe and their contributions can't be put aside.

If I tell you the Arabs once took more than 2 million Europeans as slave, I am sure you will deny it.

Mr man read and stop displaying your ignorance.

Go to Crescent University, ladies must cover their heads right from the gate irrespective of whatever you come to do in the "Secondary school" called university.

Adeleke University is a Christian based university, therefore, if your ward decided to go there, he or she must be ready to comply with the rules afterall there are Nasfat university, crescent university, etc.

Akintola Muric doesn't have to make noise to NUC, just take your ward to the school of your choice. You don't go to someone's clan and be dictating to him how to run his clan.

Olagunsoye Oyinlola lived in IBB'S house for good 13 years and he is still a Christian till today.

FFK was adopted and raised in a Muslim family, he still practice his faith today.

Same as Bishop Oyedepo and others..

For your info, I have people that went to Muslim owned Universities, but were never forced to practice Islam. Even some Muslims among them don't go to mosque for the 5 times daily prayer.
For your information Al-Hikmah and Crescent don't force their non-Muslim students to practice Islam.
