bily:

i have an htc wildfire
a friend of mine got it for new thinking it could work with his metatrader forex platform. unfortunately for him, he had broken the warranty label so he couldnt return it.

so if u r interested let me know, or if u have a windows mobile fone and u want to change it for the htc android wildfire, u r welcome

@ azanor, i no go mind d xperia x1 in exchange for d htc wildfire, since u already have an android fone, u will hate d x1. but for us forex traders, android doesnt cut it for us yet.

Hi Bily I have an Acer X960 running WinMo 6.1 that I'd gladly swap for the Wildfire cos I am ready for the Android experience.

You can reach me on 08052256768 or darthmaximusreed@yahoo.com.

done!

it works. grin grin grin grin grin grin grin grin

and it will run better on any higher android phone esp those dual core processors with high ram.

surprise surprise is it does not use exceptional resources, actually runs like an app, u view it through a VNC viewer app

its a bit slow (well actually quite faster than i thot it will be and my phone aint exactly new)

only ish is small screen and all that but it works fine.

i love challenges cool

Re: Android, Anyone? by 4llerbuntu(m): 4:36pm On Sep 29, 2011
afraid to post the how to here,  spambots

u dont actually do anything. just run scripts

download the preinstalled .img

unzip into a folder called ubuntu on sdcard, it will contain the .img and some scripts   u need 2 gb free space on sdcard for the OS

install terminal on your phone

obviously u must be rooted, have busybox etc.

install any VNC app, im using android VNC, 200kb thereabouts.

open terminal, type su,    (enter) u know now

cd /sdcard/ubuntu

for the first time   type:   sh ubuntu.sh

(subsequent times u dont dont run that, just type the next cmd)

then:   type starttux

voila ubuntu is running.

now type :  tuxcmd

then type:   ui

now go to the VNC viewer,  create a new profile with

password: 12345678
address : localhost
port: 5901

change the dpi thing to 24,

voila, ur desktop is on.

navigate, zoom, etc.

it uses ur phone's 3g or wifi connection by default. everything works.

will try to do a stripped default 11.04 gnome .img for myself, this lxde is dulling.    of course u can use terminal to install anything u want wink wink wink wink wink

will post the links next, so if i get banned, shame! tongue
Re: Android, Anyone? by 4llerbuntu(m): 4:38pm On Sep 29, 2011

Re: Android, Anyone? by 4llerbuntu(m): 5:20pm On Sep 29, 2011
runs slower if u have many background monitoring apps running. slowed down a lot when i had shootme running!

Re: Android, Anyone? by 4llerbuntu(m): 5:27pm On Sep 29, 2011
too lazy and distracted to order them properly, pls bear.

besides i think the netbook remix or the unity desktop will be much better suited for this.

Re: Android, Anyone? by 4llerbuntu(m): 12:30pm On Sep 30, 2011
@ lynx so how did it go?

did u try it?

i changed to the netbook remix image, it runs MUCH better and faster.

not bad for a phone with just 354mb Ram. which i think is the major factor here. i want to make videos but the capture tool slows the fone down so much and doing the video with anor fone isnt going so fine.

on your fone it should run so much better.

somehow glo service has disappeared from my location since yesterday, else i would post firefox screenies. this would be really nice on a phone with a hardware keyboard and large Ram.

NB: where is everybody? now that the stakes are higher, suddenly u all love your fones too much? dont tell me a bit of beginner tech convo has chased everyone away o tongue tongue tongue tongue

Nope. why? power? anyway u dont have to, at least if you are using my own style highlighted above.

pls confirm if u got the file i sent, i had to leave the pc before it was through. i also sent it through email. i had to put in a folder, zip it then in another folder then b2z it again before google would allow me send it.

unzip to the .exe, simply rightclick and run as admin. DELETE THE FORMER VIRTUAL ADAPTER BEFORE RUNNING IT O, A WIN 7 PC APPARENTLY ONLY RUNS ONE VIRTUAL ADAPTER NATIVELY.

i think they cant view inside a b2z, so incase anyone needs to send anything like an app, just compress with b2z grin grin grin

All my third party facebook apps like dolphin browser e-zine, friend caster etc are having errors when ever try to login with em. Has any one experienced same or have an idea how to fix?
Re: Android, Anyone? by lynxnoon(m): 7:25pm On Sep 30, 2011
@4ller
thanks I got both
I asked that cos having an OS on ur droid while still attached to a pc won't make much sense ad per portability
Re: Android, Anyone? by lynxnoon(m): 8:01pm On Sep 30, 2011
@2kurupt
u may need to reinstall those files again
Re: Android, Anyone? by 4llerbuntu(m): 8:17am On Oct 01, 2011
@2kurupt, u need to wipe your cache and dalvik-cache the fix permissions.
hope u are rooted and have recovery?

if not uninstall, wipe the data and left over files and reinstall.
