this first love thing is overrated and energy zapping.

i dont understand the use of pining away or interrupting someone's life over a crush or crushes from aeons back.

rosy view of the past when in actual fact it wasnt necessarily so.

of course we all like getting that woozy feeling but still.


i read one biography where an 80 something year old man went back to his village in europe, after spending  40 or 50 years in the US, to find his childhood sweetheart. He got the shock of his life after he tracked her down where she was living. A 70+ year old lady answered the door and he was so tongue tied after realizing who she was, that he just turned around, and got on the next flight back to america.

I myself was amazed he'd actually thought the girl would remain the same way she'd been 40+ years ago? Are some men really like this?

of course the guy had been unhappily married for 30 or 40 something years, but it still seemed weird. He hadnt married for love either, so maybe that could explain the whole thing perhaps.
