Marriage Or Career Which Comes First: Ladies Question For You All ... by cipslim(m): 5:56am On Nov 23
I understand that when it comes to sensitive topics like marriage and career especially for women, a lot of people have different opinions. Whatever your opinion is I do respect it; different things work for different people. Without much ado, let get into it.

Women who want to have kids should make it a high priority in their early twenties – late twenties to find a “partner”, (Note, I quote a partner, not a husband, as much as I am pro-marriage, it’s just not for everyone and not all women want a husband). According to statistics, it’s harder for women in their late thirties to get married.

Another big reason is because of the pressing issues facing Generation X: infertility. We are experiencing more women having issue with getting pregnant naturally and the cost of IUI or IVF is not getting any cheaper. Honestly, you have your whole life to get a career and you can even change career at any time in life. This is not true about having a baby.

If you are already in your 30s, single and want to have kids, you need to find a partner now. Take that career drive and direct it toward mating because your career skills will outlast your ovaries.

As much as I believe women should not be pressured into getting married as most African parents or families do, the reality is the woman’s biological clock is running. However, there is lots of evidence to show that a woman’s biological clock takes a nose-dive from age 35. A huge percentage of fertility statistics get bad at 35.

Career should come first and foremost then she can take her chances with biological clock, going to Shiloh and fighting off infertility let's not even talk about giving birth to genetically defective offspring from very low quality eggs as a result of advanced age....(pls no mentions,I am not feeling fine)

Humans whether man or woman should have their career as priority.

A woman who cannot take care of her basic needs from the proceeds of her career before going into marriage is a potential punching bag and slave when things turn sour.

This is the 21st century, do not be pressured into marriage.

If you have unquenchable conji , get a intimacy gadget or cucumber. If you can't afford it, use candle.

Both go hand in hand and you must strive to maintain a balance without tilting...

Both are equally important...

Your career should be first no matter what!..

The only thing that keeps marriage is personal growth... if you are not growing you will never be happy.

Note: your hubby's success is more like a compound success.. you will only benifit 1/3 of it. If he is a very nice man.

However your husband should be able to give full support to make your dream a top priorty...

At the end you would have been proud of whom you've become

Advice:

Don't bury yourself under a man's success. You'll end up spoiling your lips (mouth) by taking whatever is thrown at you

We are living in a revolving and dynamic environment, Career is important but Home and Partner is more important. Many ladies will opt for career and later will pay all their earnings to Pastor & Alfas to help and provide partners.........forgetting that menopause this days start from 30years.

Career

Once I have established myself, I can enter marriage knowing I have something to offer my partner. It is hard to find footing in your career after marriage.

I don't want to be anyone's liability, so, I would rather I have built myself to a reasonable extent, before joining forces with anyone

Most of them will pretend that career comes first but I don't know what they are doing in Shiloh, synagogue of all nations and all these prayer houses during a hot afternoon when they should be pursing their career.

The noise about choosing a career before marriage or vice versa makes no sense. What should concern you is balancing the two phenomenon.

I have seen women put in the hours at work and rose to the top of their dreams without any effect on how they run their families. You can work hard without closing too late and you can further your studies and still save your family the suffering. The pitfalls comes when you invest your whole entirety into one thing.

The joy of a successful woman is the story of a supportive family but a woman who neglects hers will be lonely at the top. Victory is sweetest in the company of genuine cheers.

It is the duty of a man to support her dreams and the wife's to balance her duties. What a woman needs to flourish in career is a supportive spouse. Why can't you imagine both my dear.

Basically, life has a way of putting human beings in a frying pan so I’d say career.

This is because I have always wanted to be financially stable before risking a relationship aka marriage and also considering how much and bad the country is, career is very much needed.
However, if you choose career, there is a slim chance that Mediocre Nigerian men would come by. They hate overly independent women and have a love hate feelings for ‘gold diggers and slay queens’ I.e, they love subservient women....it boosts their ‘egos’. You may even meet some who think them marrying you is a supposed blessing cheesy or people who expect you to work and serve their needs and that of their families.
But then.:::..... you have to choose a succinct path in life.

Then if you choose marriage, forget, career or better still, prepare to work twice, thrice or quadruple as hard as your career mates. Once you give birth to one, two, three or how much you want, mahn, that’s how much hardwork you’d put in cheesy.
If you have a supportive spouse, the load becomes lighter, unsupportive spouse, 10times that freaking birth, career load and May God help you. grin cheesy grin

However, life is all about balance, you can have all. It depends on how you handle it, but then balance is key wink

Caveat: May The odds be in your favor

I know this thread is for the female folks but let delve in a bit. I think it all depends on the individual and opportunity / timing. There's this friend of mine that's doing her Masters, I once asked her why second degree almost immediately after her first degree? Her reply was that would I foot the bill if she were to be married and same time schooling. So, me think it all depends on the individual and timi of the opportunity.

So guys answer this question a friend once asked me.

If you have #50,000 and your wife have #50,000, how much does the family have?

I said #100,000.
He said never, that the family only have #50,000.

And he explained.

And he was spot on.

Now second question? Who working class woman help, when the man still pays the rent, school fees, feeding, clothing and all expenses?

Just thinking out loud.

Why is a man writing all these is what i want to know.......................... Leave women to decide which comes first biko, also with the way the world is going it becoming an individual choice and not what you can make general statement . Also why does it have to be one before the other and not both done together
