Notice and Connection

There are 7 ways to make it in the music industry

1. Controversy + Talent
2. Juju + Talent
3. Connection + Talent
4. Wealth + Talent
5. Praising God + Storytelling + Talent
6. Physical Appeal + Talent
7. Consistency

There is only one person who possesses all the 7 above and that is: Davido.

You must know the method you want to use in whatever you do and stay focused. When I started selling books here on Nairaland, I chose number 1 — which is Controversy + Talent and it worked and still works and will continue to work.

TALENT ALONE IS NOT ENOUGH.

So you mean Dafido dey use jazz? grin

Most stupid people question I’ve ever heard. U just need talent, hardwork and drive and a little bit of connection.. Look at Davido and how he started. His first ever video was very simple though it featured neato c bt the concept was simple.

So for video have a creative director doesn’t have to be a popular name. Just a creative person with good taste and scope.

There is a deep spiritual aspect to music aside the regular wordings and melody, whether sensible or not. The two principal power ruling the universe are interested in music, God first, who created music as a medium to usher in continuous worship and praise to himself from all his creature wherever they are found. Interestingly at the helm of this praise and worship at inception is none other than Lucifer who is now devil and Satan who was cast down to the earth after his rebellion against the almighty God. Having seeing the power inherent in music and what it connotes which is worship! worship!! worship!!! is now set out do anything to have it directed at himself from all source available. The bottom line is this, if you are going into music you are first of all going to worship one of this two personalities; GOD or the devil, and subsequently direct anyone who will go along with your music to worship same personalty, otherwise you can't go far, cause your talent is never going to be enough.
Music is therefore deeper than the lyrical selection, physical appearance, beats, saxes, trumpeting, viols, guitars, piano or varied musical instruments and the ecstasy that follows. So if you want to go into music you need to choose from onset who you want to worship with your songs? this will determine the direction, consistency, styles, additives, temperament, genre and other things that'll follow. The necessity of above narrative is that music needs inspiration to be effective, and it has to come from one of these two sources to make a lasting impression. If your goal is to expand the kingdom of God and influence others for righteousness, you need the Holy spirit to teach you deep spiritual heavenly songs, and if it's for the expansion of Satan's kingdom then you need him too directly at the helms of affairs. Without this two personalty been actively involve in your musical career, no matter your talent and training in music you can't go far or wield much influence. Meditate on this before you take a quantum leap into the mystical world of music!

My brother, the you answer is “No”

If you apply science according to you, you might loose your talent.

find out what other top musicians did;

You need to follow the right people
Make good music and improve.
Have some money(eg. 2-3m) to promote your music.
Put The Universe first(God, Allah or whatever you believe in).

Success will surely come knocking on your door

Certainly, for God to bless the artist, he has to be a gospel musician singing for God only. But if his other wise, singing about yansh, drugs, and all the other rubbish the 'stars' are singing about, he can't get blessing from God, rather it will be from the world.

I decided to post this topic here because this is the most visited page on Nairaland after the front page. I had some serious arguments with my friends because some of them were shaming me for slow progress in my musical career' mind you I started music since 2011 but I am yet to see a real breakthrough in my career though I have rejected some record deals in the past because they were suspicious to me.

One of my friends told me the reason I am yet to blow is because I didn't apply 'science' to my songs meaning I didn't apply juju to my career that all the big artists I know both local and international have some apply supernatural powers to their careers before they blew up that if I don't do the same that am going nowhere in music this got me thinking did Wizkid, Davido, Rema and Joeboy did all this blow or stay relevant because as for me I believe it's hardwork and opportunity but now am thinking otherwise.

Please make your own contributions thanks.

Bro you are asking the wrong people. No one here has blown in music so why do you think people here have the answers.

Ask the people who are into music. If you can't ask the famous musicians themselves ask their managers and promoters. They should have the answer or close to the answer.

Stop asking carpenters how to weld iron.

You are not showing yourself to the right audience.

You need to be very present online. Put your face out to the world.

I can help your team (if you have one) market you to where your talent needs to be marketed.

If this offer makes sense to you, give me q quote and let's talk business...

My brother, there’s one thing you don’t know.

God loves for people is equal.
Read what the Bible says.

Matthew 7:7
"Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock, and it will be opened to you.

Matthew 7:8
For everyone who asks receives. He who seeks finds. To him who knocks it will be opened.

There’re no requirements.

Forget what your pastor said; this is the world of God.

You need mentorship, skill, talent, excellence, practice and if cos God. If u try juju, the devil will finish you. He wont give you anything free. You will cry all the days of ur success...

I agree, except the part of involving God. If he is a gospel musician, it is okay. But if he is going to sing about Yansh like Naira marley, Davido, wizkid etc.., God cannot be invloved in that kind of music.

Someone like Naira Marley used number 1 to blow.

Someone like (name_removed) used number 2. Maybe, Sky B? I didn't mention any name.

Someone like 2Face and Wizkid used number 3.

Someone like Davido and Kcee used number 4.

Someone like Timaya and Duncan Mighty used number 5.

Someone like Naeto C, Kiss Daniel, and Trey Songz used number 6.

Someone like Asa and Burna Boy used number 7. Some people may think Burna used number 2, but I doubt. Most Rivers state people hardly give up until they succeed.

If a Rivers man wants to kill you, he'll not give up until he gets you killed. If a Rivers man wants to succeed in music, he will not give up until he succeeds.

You must use one of the 7 ways above with a danceable beat or at least, a melodious (catchy) instrumental to blow.

Yes, you must promote your craft even after using one of the 7 methods above, else you no go blow.

The one person that can blow without promotion is number 1 — which is controversy + talent.

Oh, do you know controversy itself is promo? So, in summary, you must choose one of the 7 options and promote till you blow. No retreat, no surrender — packaging.

There is only one person who possesses all the 7 above and that is: Davido.

Why do you believe in juju and not the power in music. If you don't have the gift, forget music. Not everyone's soul accept juju. Music is not for ordinary people, it is spiritual, so forget juju beacasue not all souls will accept it. Ask a real musician what I mean.

I beg to disagree. Jesus said in Mark 9:42, “But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to be thrown into the sea with a large millstone hung around your neck".

Singing about women buttocks and their various sizes doesn't glorify God; it mocks God. Singing about how you love miniskirt does not glorify God. Women dancing with pant and bra seductively in music videos does not glorify God. It causes young and old men and women to fall into sexual immorality.

The ruler of the world is the devil as stated in John 12:31. Though God is the creator of everything, the ruler and Prince of the world is Satan.

So, I agree if you ask, you shall receive but not asking God to bless what is filthy and profane. Instead the ruler of the world will bless the singer with sorrows attached.

Wizkid was a studio rat for a long time before he made it
Davido had the finance to buy good songs and also perform them excellently
Rema was part of a music group before don jazzy signed him
Nigerians sha must allude spiritual meanings to everything
One poster is busy saying u have to be a gospel musician for God to help ur career

Juju is only a confidence booster and nothing else.

You want to blow in music? Do this: at 2am on the dot and not a second before or after, stand on one leg and raise one arm to the sky. Shout the name of your crush and claim you’ll gbensh her till she uses crutches. After that spin around in circles on that one leg till you fall from either dizziness or tiredness. If successful you’ll blow without putting in work.

On a regular day I won’t advice someone to try mysticism of any sort to become successful, unless your name is Airforce1. That guy needs all the assistance possible to break into the music scene.

I have read some comments and suggestions that God will bless your music irrespective of the contents/lyrics.

Imagine I am Naira marley. I composed a song named Big Yansh!. Also I released a video for the song, featuring ladies on bra and pant dancing and twerking seductively. Then I go on my knees to ask God to bless the song so I can blow.

I engaged in 7 days prayer and fasting so God can answer me Speedily.

I am sure God will not answer that prayer.

Instead, the ruler of the world will answer that prayer and bless you with sorrows attached and your soul sold for money and fame in return.

Oga u are mixing mysic and religion
Everybody comes to earth with a specific talent and believe it or not God actually helps you to use that talent
Biggie was selling drugs until his friend took him to diddy who helped him blow
Tupac was a roadie for digital underground
Eminem worked in a restaurant
All these men became legends because of their God given talent
Oh and by the way if God didn't want u to have sex he would have left adam alone and not put the beed for u to think of a woman
By all means fast and pray but don't think it affects ur relationship with ur maker if u sing or dance wordly songs
