Hey Everyone,

I got my PPR last week.

It’s been a rollercoaster of excitement.

So FINALLY, I’m a Permanent Resident of the great country of Canada.

Indeed, it is marvelous in the sight of God.

Timeline:
ECA 2018
IELTS 2019
ITA DEC 2020 (Last draw for the year)
AOR, JAN 28th 2021 FSW
Biometrics Feb 12 2021

LONGGGG SILENCE

Fast forward to 2022
ADR and Remed request 22nd Feb 2022
Went for remedicals 24th Feb at IOM Lagos
Submitted remedicals form and other ADRs on the 25th Feb
Remedicals passed 1st of March
PPR 3rd of March
VO RROC

IT HAS FINALLY ENDED IN PRAISE!

I am in awe!
Still feels surreal, but so happy that this hurdle is passed and I can finally say GOD DID IT!

Wow!!! Great to know the ministry is still kicking!! It’s been so many months since I last came here. Got ITA in Dec 2020 after waiting for so long. I wrote IELTS 5 times. See, it has not been easy.

9 months later, well we are still waiting.

I remember the day I got ITA, I cried so much. It was an unexpected Christmas gift. I was so happy. My family was even more happier than I was.

Nairaland was my Bible. Joined in Part 4! Here we are today. POST AOR still feels like a dream.

Well, wherever you feel stuck, just know it won’t last forever. The waiting game can be frustrating, but remember this, GOD DOES NOT ABANDON UNFINISHED PROJECTS.

Hold on, don’t lose hope!
As we say here, it will surely end in praise.

#PersonalOpinion

So long as your POF is intact and untouched, I don't think IRCC cares what you do with any excess money you have above and beyond that.

It's your account....you can use it as you please for legitimate transactions PROVIDED the balance doesn't fall below the POF amount.
These were my thoughts too.
Thank you for this.

Please any thoughts on this?

Random question.

So my POF is very much intact in the bank account I use for salary. It is complete and even has a buffer.

But once I get paid, I transfer my salary to my other savings account for expenses, and I send some to my piggyvest.

I hope this is safe, and will not raise any suspiciousness.

I'm POST AOR.

You people that are traveling this month and next month, you do realise that stringent travel restrictions are currently in place. They are bouncing people seriously at the airport. Today, over 150 people were asked to go back. If your COPR is after March 18th, I suggest you check very well before booking your flight.

Canada no be like Nigeria oh... they will bounce you sharply.

Omo ! How many people get back market rate(CAD 395) ? So much speculations around this POF matter self. Some says use IRCC rate
https://www.tpsgc-pwgsc.gc.ca/cgi-bin/recgen/er.pl?Language=E

Some says xe.com with like 300k on top.

I don't understand IRCC rate..is that 330CAD per naira? I submitted 4.1m as POF for a single person. I hope its more than enough.

Sorry about that. You can have your supervisor write it on plain paper. Maybe include the email response that your HR declined.

All the best!

Okay I'll try this. Thanks.

Can you plead with your HR? Offer to buy lunch if need be or ask your line manager to speak to HR? The last time I checked , HR support functions and technically he/she should come through.
Lol its hard. They said I should use my resume for that. Even my Oga sef is saying I should use my resume. I am really at crossroads.

Hey guys. please I have a very important question.
My HR manager is giving me a reference letter but without my job duties. Can I get my line manager to put my duties on a plain paper and sign? So I'll upload both letters? Is this feasible?

If this is BC, just forget it. British Council has the worst form of service, this same thing happened to me at my last IELTS exam and till now, they just ignored. Like they just stopped responding to my emails and still went ahead to release the result. I dash them the 75k, I already have ITA now.

If they are asking her to redo the 4 modules, let her just take it. Because the fact that they already released the results, they can't take it back and release another one.

Babyibi:
Good morning everyone, I need advise for a friend, her headset was bad during the listening test and she complained and filled a form after the test and her result was not to be released until she had retaken her listening but it was released and she's being asked to retake the 4 modules. She's fighting it but she's not getting a headway. Kindly advise what she can do.

Jadel03, when you say you wrote the reference letter on an A4 paper, did you mean you typed it and printed it, or you wrote it with a pen?

Secondly, how did your colleague attest on the letter? Like she just wrote a sentence or how?

I'm also in this reference letter ish and I'm just tired for Nigerian employers.

Most people that have submitted their application used exchange rates from XE.

Apiness111:
Hello family.

Please I have a question regarding PROOF OF FUNDS (POF)

For SINGLE APPLICANT/FAMILY OF 1, the current IRCC POF is 12,960 CAD.

On oanda, the forex rate is 1 CAD to 300.308 NGN which is the same as parallel market rate. Therefore, 12,960 CAD = 3,891,990 NGN, almost 4 million.

Please, what exchange rate have you people been using and how much naira equivalent is it?

Please help!!!!

People often forget that eligibility means you score atleast 67/100 and a low IELTS can obviously bring your eligibility lower.

wondychiqe That's not true. You don't need to score an 8 to be eligible. You can only be ineligible if you score anything less than a CLB 7 (LRWS/6666). Why people advocate for 8777/LRWS is so the applicant scores a CLB 9.

lilianijitola The reason why it says you are ineligible is because you filled out something wrong.
Do you meet the minimum Express Entry requirements listed below?
Did you answer "No" when it asked if you have done your Education Credential Assessment (ECA)? You have to provide the ECA reference number
Did you answer "NO" when it asked you if your English language exam is less than 2 years? You have to provide your TRF number
Did you input a lower amount than when you were asked to input the amount you have as proof of funds?
Do you have at least 1 year of continuous work or 1,560 hours total (30 hours per week)?

Check your applications again and correct it. You might need to delete your existing application and create a new one.

This has been discussed time and time again. Yes 6666 is the benchmark, assuming you can get points from other factors. If your IELTS score is low, you don't stand a chance. Especially when you're the PA and age isn't on your side like that, with no French scores, sibling points and other factors, you ain't going no where. @lilianijitola your IELTS is too low, please take time to prepare and rewrite. Keep believing and wishing you success!
