@lechess you don't need to quote the whole thing. It's difficult to keep up with the thread when people just quote long posts. Kindly modify and delete some parts. |

Subalinga: Hello House,
Does anyone think canada may close this EE thing soon?, i am starting to panic, my score is still not high enough- IELTS is good but i have only bsc. My next step is another exam i am planning to write in nov, pray i pass the first sitting.
Panic is setting in for me. Panicking solves nothing! Focus on what is within you control. Like writing that exam of yours in November (by the way, what exam is it?) |

Congratulations to the ITAs and PPRs. This is the beginning of something new. Read through the last 50 pages and I can deduce the following: - People find it SO difficult to read or research more. - Newbies dishing out wrong information with so much confidence - Long posts are not quoted appropriately, leaving the thread really untidy. Guys, we can do better nau. Take out time to READ before asking really random stuffs. We are in PART 8, there's no question that has not be asked and answered here. Newbies, please put in some efforts, so you won't be misled or mislead people. God bless us all |

Come and see, what the lord has done for me…. if it were to be man I would surely pay!
Where can I start from… Its not PPR, or ITA… it’s IELTS. Finally, it has been conquered. Whoever thought the beginning of this new month would bring smiles to my face.
I started my IELTS journey October 2018 practiced for 3 months, so I can write it in Jan 2019. I focused solely on writing, with the belief that the other modules would be just perfect. (I wanted to max out by all means).
Reading and Listening held me down in my 1st attempt but I maxed out on the other two. I shook my body and registered for the next one. Shebi it is to spend another 68k, this Canada we must enter.
While preparing for my 2nd attempt, I started praying and fasting, read that catholic prayer. I just wanted to get this over with. I told God to give me a date. In my sleep, I dreamt that I was talking to someone and the person said I LIKE 30TH.
I woke up not knowing what 30th meant. I just brushed it over and registered for my 2nd attempt with MOD in March. The test was amazing! I thought it was the end of IELTS! When results came out, Reading held me down AGAIN! I was hurt, pained, devastated! I cried mehn! I just thought God wasn’t listening to all my pleas.
At this point, I was just weak. I did not know what else to do. Then a friend gave me the advice to register with BC CBT. In my mind I was like, so I would cough out another 75k? Wow! I summoned up courage and decided I would go for it – Then I remembered 30TH.
I logged on to BC website, and booked April 30th. Went for the exam and the worst happened! Nepa took light when we were doing the writing component, coupled with that, they had server issues! That day, we finished the exam 5pm. Immediately I just gave up! This one is another 75k no doubt! Before we left, the BC officials assured us that we had the chance to write the exam again for FREE, if we didn’t like the outcome of the result.
I already made up my mind that I would write it again jare, shebi it is free!
I picked a new date, June 20th! Prepared with all my life! Went into the exam hall and said one prayer God, give me the scores that I need. Remember, my wants were to max out, but God already knew what I needed and he gave it to me.
Lo and behold, results came out today and I had: L 8.5 R 7 W 7 S 7.5
Special thank you to @d4eva who has been reviewing my essays since October 2018. I am so indebted to you. Thank you @adiepena for your reviews as well. And to everyone who shared one tip or another, y'all are the real MVPS.
NOW MY WATCH HAS ENDED. |

Skillfo: I learnt T,F,NG using IeltsLiz. The key thing with the reading exam is time management. Answer the questions you find easiest first and the harder ones last.
Aim to finish in 35 - 50 mins and then use the remaining time to go over your answers - especially the answers you are not, sure of.
Do let me know if you need any further help. Thank you. When practicing, I flawlessly get the other answers correctly, except for T,F, NG. I have no idea why it is so difficult to grasp. I have sent you a PM. |

MrPein: I used ieltsbuddy.com and the cambridge series. Got 8.5.
Choose True if the question or statement can be found and correlates with what is written in the text/passage even if it has been paraphrased. They are often times paraphrased to confuse candidates.
Choose False if the question or statement can be found but DOES NOT correlate with the information from the text/passage. Paraphrased or not.
Choose Not Given if the question or statement CANNOT be found in the text/passage even if it feels true/false based on your experience or knowledge.
Hope this helps. All the best. Thank you so much for sharing. |

Skillfo: How do I sign up? This IELTS writing matter is becoming an embarrassment for me because I am a Communications/Web Specialist and writing is a major part of my work. My 1st attempt: L - 8.5 R - 9 S - 8.5 W - 6.5. 2nd attempt: L - 9 R - 9 S - 8 W - 6.5 I can't but envy your reading scores. 9 back to back. Please do you mind sharing how you tackled T,F,NG questions? Or materials you used? That seems to be my main concern Thank you for your kind consideration. |

Oakville19: That is incorrect for international passport and bank account , my MIL has 3 first names (Chidera Olubusayo Halima)and 2 last names (Obi-Yusuf)on her passport and bank account and has never had any issue with it. Thanks, but I'm talking about BVN not bank account, BVN did not & does not accept 4 names. It could be accepted for international passport, but then again, not everyone can be your MIL who didnt have an issue with it, this is Nigeria. Many thanks for your input. I appreciate. |

Ifeoma77: I'm not seeing any problem here. There is no law anywhere that says you can only have 3 names But you know, Bvn doesnt approve 4 names, even international passport, nimc and the likes. He's going to change it back to 3 names (first name, middle name and Father's first name as surname). Just hoping it wont be much of an issue. |

advocatetruth: My school AAU sent my transcript via email to ICES I emailed ICES to confirm that they got the transcript, i didnt want to hear its collecting dust in spam box and all that. I dont know about Nigerian scools but i know mine does. They know how important transcript is, so they usually respond well. I am not sure ICES is cheaper, i just know its less stressful with verification and all When you create your account with ICES, u will be given unique ID, visit their website for more details. Hello, Please if you don't mind I have a few questions. I remember doing a pre-degree program with AAU in 2009. Can it be used for Express Entry? If yes, do you mind sharing how I can go about it? @wisdom77 please do you also have any idea of the above? Thank you. |

Nigerian education is good, it took me a DAMN 6 months before ECA could be processed. Did you also know some universities are currently on strike?
Nigerian education is good, but the 'elites' are sending their kids to study abroad in droves.
Nigerian education is good, 15million children are out of school.
Nigerian education is good, ASUU goes on strike INDEFINITELY!
Nigerian education is good, people apply for a 4 years course but graduate after 7 years.
But why are we so mediocre in thinking? Why do we romanticise poor infrastructure? As Nigerians, we are made to work under the MOST strenuous of environments, doesn't mean its the norm.
It is not to be argued, our Education system is not anywhere close to the top 100 in the world. If you doubt, use Google for further research.
Thank you for coming to my Ted talk. *goes back into reading mode* |
