I think Tudor's earlier post about him getting shot was in jest. Heck, I even found it amusing. I understand that people handle issues differently but blaming Tudor one way or the other for his demise is not only unfair but also untrue.

You are obviously deluded.Detroit and chicago have serious gun and gang violence.Most of the communities with high crime rates are black communities.I know from experience not statistics.Is it not chicago where school kids can go on a bus and open fire? Killing other school kids? It doesn't get much publicity nationwide because it is the black community and these crimes are a dime a dozen.As to welfare receipients, in the long lines I see mostly black people. In section 8 houses, young black women with bastard children running around.White people are 2 percent of that.

When you have gangs, littering the streets like that, the country is bound to be unsafe. But it is also known that, of all these Gun toting losers mentioned , for some reason, Black Americans gangs are more likely to attack an African, why? I don't know. and Chicago having a huge black community, which is somewhat predominant, with very extremely dangerous gangs, it wouldn't be wrong to say, that there is a 65% chance this act might have been, perpetrated by a black gang.

Nobody would be a graduate student in mechanical engineering and be involved in gang banging. . . .think sensibly here. He was trying to be funny, saying where he lived people were actually gang banging and actually living that street life yet somebody in "soft" UK was complaining about their weak criminals. . . it's just humor and light mockery. You can't be a bookworm who's studying mechanical engineering at the graduate level, and be on your laptop for so much of your time and truly have the mindset of a gang banger or be involved in it. . .it was just his sense of humor coming out in that comment

For someone with 13,519 posts on Nairaland, it's obvious he really spent a lot of time on his laptop like his family said, and I don't think he was involved in such.

i have not been on nairaland much in the past couple of months and reading this news was a huge and incomprehensible shock to me.i didnt know him personally but we have had a number of  intellectual sparrings in the politics and religious debates over the years and even after changing my screenie.this is a huge shame at the loss of a promising young man to some senseless violence.

i will enjoin seun osewa with the co-ordinators of the politics religious section to write the family in an official capacity and inform them of our condolences as nairalanders, most importantly for them to know that he had another life,a vibrant life and was well liked and loved on here by thousands of people who are mourning with them in this difficult and sorrowful time

Olubusayo Awomolo rode a bus Friday night from the University of Illinois at Chicago to his home on the 15500 block of Ingleside Avenue. He was shot in his driveway between 7 and 8 p.m., Jones said.

The man's body was discovered by his older brother a short time later. Police haven't made any arrests and can't explain why Awomolo would be targeted.

Awomolo graduated high school at 16 and earned a bachelor's degree from UIC before seeking his master's degree, Jones said.

"We all wish our kids would grow up and strive after education the way this kid has," Jones said.

Police could only say they were looking for a slim built, black male with a dark complexion, wearing a brown coat.

Police also are looking for a dark 4-door sedan, but couldn't provide a make or model for the vehicle.

Jones asked anyone in the area of 155th and Ingleside avenues during the time of the shooting to contact police. Those wishing to provide information anonymously can call (708) 201-3226 or speak with an officer at (708) 201-3200.

Once again, I'm not deluded. I told I know these problems exist in black communities and must be dealt with. Did you read too fast? I deal with experience, too. I also look at statistics. Whether you want to believe or not, white people make up the majority of the welfare receivers in the U.S., mostly poor whites in rural areas. It's obvious you've never been to those areas. I have and I've seen it firsthand. Why do you think Chicago and Detroit have gangs that are only black? Those cities have Bloods and Crips, along with Latin Kings, MS-13, Surenos, Black Dragons (Asian gang) and even white nationalist gangs. My problem with you is you like to put people in a box and say they're this or that. That's not right. Before you judge someone, you should get to know them.

You are obviously a person who likes to jude people based on who they are or where they come from. How many times do I have say this? I know the black communities needs to change including the "stop snitching" thing, which comes from Irish and Italian mobs. The college I went to had lots of black graduates. Most were Americans. You're ignorant if you think there are no successful blacks. But then again, you judge people based on looks and birthplace. I don't where you live, but black folks in my area always go to school and they're all U.S. citizens. Changes need to be made, but I won't generalize or stereotype.

@ A.D.M i'm not trying to generalize here but i think the african americans have some serious psychological issues they have to deal with , I see and hear lots of things daily on how an AA beat up an 8month baby to death , how an AA murdered his mom , how an AA killed his family and burnt down the house just to name a few this year .
