Leveraging on the relaxed mood amongst us, I summoned the courage to ask why he compared Papa with Buhari. They said he was “wicked and lies like Buhari.” They said Papa hide money but pretended to be poor, and that should he be given the seat of the president, he would ensure more people suffer. Sergeant Sniper said, “[b]We voted for Buhari with the promise of giving us jobs, but he ended up deceiving us]/b]. That is why we are doing what we are doing. If not for Boko Haram that he was able to reduce, nothing is working in Nigeria under Buhari.” At that point, a mild argument ensued amongst them. Sergeant ICT disagreed with Sergeant Sniper. “You don’t listen to the news, that’s why you thought Buhari had ended Boko Haram. The bastards are still attacking people in Borno; it is on the news every day.” Sergeant Elder too corroborated the last point. The discussion later drifted to the problems of police. They saw the cops as hypocrites and warned that police should never be trusted as friends. They shared different opinions, and we too had to join the discussion about the problems of Nigeria. At a point, one could not believe they were kidnappers who were in the very act of criminal activity. Of course, we hoped joining them in their discussion would help win their sympathy so that we could be released without harm. It was generally a feigned atmosphere of friendship. All the while, they were still insisting on getting more ransom money than what we were offering. May thunder fire all the ZOMBIES supporting that lanky, inept, clueless, dotard called Buhari. Even kidnappers are aware of his cluelessness, yet the so-called "leaders of tomorrow" will come here to die on his matter 2 Likes |

Maxymilliano:oh mine . May God secure the help of his or her release. Are you or your family in touch with that person till now?? The truth from the experience shared with my friend who was kidnapped, is not to show that you can get them what the are demanding for. Risky right, yes! But things are difficult for many Nigerians. You can't give what you don't have Regarding the story posted above. The 3 of them paid 1million Naira each to secure their release. The journalist paid 2million 3 Likes |

Rich4god: The ones arrested by security men are being released in the name of amnesty and you want the security men to be chasing them again, which kind game be that? Here is Katsina governor taking picture with a Fulani Kidnapper a.k.a Bandits while Zamfara State granted amnesty to hundreds and still gave them RUGA 2 Likes

An interesting read I must say. For those of you too lazy to read a common write-up, SHAME ON YOU, I wonder how you got through school, maybe that's why we have such a high number of educated illiterates who only know how to make noise and be potential zombies on nairaland. Thank God for the freedom of these men, the journalist really did a good job in telling the story. Like I said earlier, we have stupid people running this country and MORE STUPID people supporting them, if any of them can take time to read experiences like this, they might realize how STUPID they are. 5 Likes |

I read everything, for that, I give myself a round of applause. Obviously my cultivated reading habit is still intact. @Topic, Nigeria is almost a failed state and lawlessness reigns. Anyone residing in Nigeria is at the mercy of God. God's grace is sufficient for me. 1 Like |

@OP: Thanks for sharing, this is so so insightful. It is no longer about being careful on Nigerian roads when travelling, it's about God's grace and protection. Thank God no one was hurt and we pray HE gives them the fortitude to bear the trauma. May God continue to protect us and our loved ones. God bless Nigeria. 1 Like |

Interesting story. I can only imagine how many people would have died for not being able to raise ransoms. Takeaway from this story is that you should remove every trace of opulence (in the form of pictures and screenshots) from your phone and delete your alerts. 2 Likes |

madridsta007:You see these things you mentioned? They happened during GEJ's time and even before then. Muhammad yusuf was arrested several times, brought top Abuja and released. All those things aren't new. Was it not during GEJ's time that people were killed in tens in southern kaduna, soldiers will be a stone throw away, they will only come around after the attack and be asking stupid questions. The day I was robbed by fulanis at the area where this journalist was kidnapped, there were soldiers, just a few kilometers away. The robbers shot sporadically, soldiers came about 5 minutes after the robbery. I am not deceiving myself, these problems have always been there and will get worse over time while we continue screaming Buhari, Good luck etc . 3 Likes |

This is simply a creation and fallout of the 2015 pre election APC campaign outputs .. All in the bid to win 2015 election, they imported folks from neighboring countries, armed them to teeth to cause mayhem incase the election didn't go their way.. Unfortunately, it went their way and they couldn't curtail the arms and criminal elements they empowered.. That's where all these problem started from.. 2 Likes |

To my surprise, I saw Sergeant Elder observing his morning prayer facing the east. I said in my mind, “Look at that crazy bastard doing what he denied me.” I wondered what he was telling God at that time. Praying to God while you have captives with guns to their heads. Hypocrite!... That verse touched me, If you want total security, go to prison. There you're fed, clothed, given medical care and so on. The only thing lacking is freedom.. Congratulations once again 3 Likes |

ADAMUdaCOWBOY: Mohammed Yusuf was the person that started Boko Haram. Boko Haram are actually different from the discussion in question here, and that is herdsmen. He was killed in an operation that happened on the 20th of July, 2009. President Musa Ya Ardua was the C in C that ordered the operation. If you want to lie, at least make sure it isn’t too obvious. If those kidnappers killing and abducting Nigerians were going for cows, this would have been sorted out a long time ago. No one have said that it hasnt always been. Don’t deflect the question. Did you read what you responded to at all? You’ll look silly when you may not be. Continue deceiving yourself. It’s something you lots are sworn to do anyway. |

madridsta007:I said in my last post that the villainy of the heardsmen predates GEJ but because everything to you must boil down a battle between Goodluck and Buhari, you went to google to look for the date Muhammed Yusuf was killed and who was president then, just so as to prove GEJ is innocent of the insurgency then. Both The herdsmen and boko haram are killing innocent defenceless Nigerians in cold blood, so in the sense that they are both terrorists shows they are the same. The herdsmen are actually going for cows in Zamfara and other parts of northern Nigeria and the issue is still on going. Hope do you explain that? And if I may ask, what like did I tell? 2 Likes |
