This is unnecessary.

Stop creating panic

People need to shine their eye. Africans were doing just fine until you all started to as usual do monkey see monkey do.....

...
Towards the end of World War I, in September 1918, two troop ships arrived in Cape Town from England carrying over 2,000 black South African Labour Corps soldiers. They were being repatriated after spending over a year behind the lines on the battlefields of France and Belgium where, as non-combatants (the South African government of the day did not allow black people to bear arms), they had provided ancillary support for the white soldiers in the frontline.

Their voyage included a coaling stopover in Freetown, Sierra Leone, where Spanish flu was already raging. Within days of their departure from there, cases of influenza began to appear aboard both ships. When the first of them docked in Table Bay, 13 of the soldiers were still laid up.

The corps’ medical officer insisted that the influenza on board was similar to ordinary influenza. Nevertheless, as a precautionary measure, the state’s local medical officer had the sick troops placed in isolation at 7 Military Hospital in Woodstock. The rest of the men were put under quarantine at a military camp at Rosebank. There they were all medically examined thrice in 72 hours for signs of influenza before they could be demobilized.

But these examinations were rather cursory. And three days later all were allowed to board trains for their homes across the country. It is clear that the enforcement of the quarantine at the camp was cursory too. A local journalist wrote in the Cape Argus, the Cape Town newspaper, on Oct. 9 1918 about how some of the impatient soldiers were seen on the, “prowl in shoals about the Peninsula, notably in District Six.”

Within a day of the soldiers having left the camp on trains for home, influenza cases began to appear in a host of sites. These ranged from the staff at the camp and 7 Military Hospital and members of the transport unit which had ferried the returned soldiers from the harbour to fishermen and stevedores working in the docks.

But by then the trains were well on their way, carrying the newly-discharged soldiers all over South Africa. Even before they disembarked, some had begun to show symptoms of influenza. From as remote a district as Tsolo in the deep rural Transkei, the local magistrate was soon reporting that, since the arrival of a batch of soldiers, “sickness has become rife … in village and country and people are being brought in to local doctor by wagon and sledge loads.” (Phillips, ‘Plague, Pox and Pandemics’, p. 79)

Spanish flu had arrived, becoming more lethal by the day.

Inexorably infecting the entire country, railway station by railway station, it engulfed the whole of South Africa within weeks, during what contemporaries called ‘Black October’. It had been “allowed to run everywhere at once, like spilt quicksilver,” fulminated one magazine.

People get well from it with just antibiotics and the fatal rate is less than 2% but the rate of contagious is ×7 more deadly.
Expect it to get to over a thousand cases in Nigeria within the month.
Antibiotics are for bacterias though.

This news is becoming unbearable. If Atiku’s child can be infected with Corona it means that the reports of the NCDC is underreported. There may be a huge increase in the affected carriers in this country. May God deliver us.

But on the flipside, Nairaland is gradually gaining some sanity. I hardly see the Afonja, IPOB and Aboki fight themselves anymore. How about the APC vs PDP crew!
If I learn anything from this Coronavirus, it will be the sanctity of lives which outwits every foolish rancour.

Yes bt we need to ask and know how did he get it? Where was he exposed to the risk and who has he now been exposed too who cud now also be at risk. These are the questions we need to find answers for immediately.

Corona is just starting so statistics are low, imagine deadly Ebola at a low figure because it was addressed ontime and appropriately. If Ebola got out of hand u will know malaria that has been there b4 u were born is a joke.

Shut up you fool.. 800+ people died in Italy yesterday, and you're here spitting rubbish. Do you know those that recover end up with 50% of their lungs damaged forever permanently. Meaning they would be on medication forever. And a large percentage won't even live up to 4- 5yrs due to future health complications.

The panic is good because your survival depends on the common sense of people around you.

Yes. One has to be careful with stats.
The graph also mentions that it's the start of a pandemic, and number is likely to change.
Corona is still rising slowly and my prayer is that it is subdued by the intervention of a vaccine or people adhere to social distancing before the vaccine arrives..

If it’s just a simple cough or flu people shud be bothered about getting infected then, infact infect and reinfect urselves. It’s just a mild cough. It will disappear in 2/3days.

Nothing to worry about. We probably already had it and recovered without knowing. Lol

My greatest fear is that those with type A blood are prone to this shit. Covid-19 is too contagious even fastest than any other communicable diseases. A friend told me that vitamin c tablet with lime is very effective in protecting the immune system. Has anyone confirm that as true?

Yes it is. But take with garlic and ginger not lime.
Lime is a source of vitamin C, so it makes no sense taking both together.

If they're in power would they have closed the border as that time? It is easier for you all to come online to criticize. People that will not attend the CDA meeting of their area. People that can't talk at family meetings will come online, facelessly to criticize every of government's action

They are not in power so they tell those in power what they have FAILED to do.
Is that easy enough for you to understand
Was that not what barawo bubu, Thiefnuibu, Fash-Ole, LIE Mohammed and other Alliance of Past/Present Crooks, APC rogues were doing before 2015?
