The reason why we so gullible in this country is because we have ascribed too much power without any form of accountability to those ruling us that nonsense can not happen in a developed world People are here defending his actions how I wish it was your hard earned money or property that fell victim This is the reason why a senator would slap a civilian this the same reason why a governor would oder and arrest an innocent fellow or dethrone an emier Nigerians' we don't know our right and have left those in power with too much power and only those with leadership quality scale through Am not from pH nor resides there but its really unfair cause we have so many similar cases here in Lagos and the gov has handed with lots of maturity |

Peterobi90: By demolishing? It's because this is Nigeria where bullshit happens and people are bullied by those in govt. The owner of the hotel also has a right to be judged by the law according to the constitution. What Wike did is unlawful...simple. No sentiments. It's easy for you to stand as judge and jury and make all this judgemental statements but is it backed by any law? 3 Likes |

The crude and crass attention-seeking overfed buffoon with nothing better to do gets up every morning to fight everybody from the FG to fellow governors, oil companies and their workers, helicopter companies, his own citizens and business owners for dumb, senseless, egotistic and mindless reasons. Just imagine, the governor of the state with the highest unemployment rate in Nigeria fighting businesses, fighting investors, destroying businesses and eliminating jobs. This is not governing, this is madness and serious display of psych issues, madness without method or reason. 1 Like |

Come on wike i know you only did this to make a point or set an example. However, you made the wrong decision you see if you were truly a respected leader you would not need to use force or fear to lead your people. we know Nigerians are lawless and stubborn but there are numerous ways of ensuring compliance. Also as a governor of the people going by the current economic downturn globally you should know businesses are facing a tough time surviving especially the hotel, hospitality and tourism sectors due to covid19 the restrictions. and you well know demolishing of such building would only compound the problems of the owner and employees who would loose their jobs as a lot of mouths depend on the survival of such business. What you should have doe was to fine the guilty party thats the essence of laws in the society to correct societal ills and put citizens in check. such fines would also generate revenue for your government. But Mr Wike just like most Nigerian leaders you have no regard for the people that elect you in office you feel you are not accountable to them and you have no respect for the rule of law. Mr Wike you are a tyrant by your actions and you are not fit to rule. Mr Wike in all of this one thing can be deduced you are a FOOL. |

WHY THE YOUTH LEADER WAS DECLARED WANTED In Eleme local government area, there exist two covid19 taskforce teams, one from the state headed by a group of PDP members not in the same camp with the council boss and the other constituted by the LGA council chairman which the wanted PDP youth leader is a member. The youth leader who is said to have criminal records before he was elected PDP youth leader. The LGA taskforce gave Prudent and Etemeteh Hotels the go ahead order to operate even with the lockdown. The state taskforce got the info and moved to enforce the lockdown order only for the manager of one of the hotels to put call across to the LGA taskforce led by the wanted PDP youth leader, they responded and descended on the state taskforce members, BEAT THEM UP and SEIZED THEIR VEHICLES. The taskforce reported to their leader who then called the governor. Less than two hours later, the government ordered for the demolition of the hotels. And the PDP youth leader declared wanted. |

Alanpoza007: Thankfully you said "a civilized society". Do you truthfully believe that the Nigerian society is a civilized one? Do you call it braggado? Sorry, I disagree with you bro. Leadership comes with certain responsibilities. Part of the responsibilities is the enforcement of laws. In civilized societies people live by laws. Nigerians hypocritically travel to other countries and obey their laws right from the airport. The ones in prisons all over the world broke their laws. Whoever went there to complain? Followership also has its responsibilities, part of which is abiding by laws. We cannot continue so recklessly in this country. Wike's actions may be seen as extreme but truthfully some people in this country need those measures. Now you may ask how many of those on the affected local governments were found disobeying? Those who obey, should we can them fools? Do they not need food in their homes? This country truthfully needs strong leaders who are able to put things in the right perspectives. Painfully you do not seem to realise that some governors are economical with the truth about figures. We all sincerely pray that the figures do not skyrocket. But Wike is honest enough about not letting it escalate beyond control. Just like everyone screamed to the heavens against PMB if Wike fails to take control he will be held respondible in the event of a big breakout of the virus in Rivers state. |

Peterobi90: Are you justifying what he did? Why do we now have court of law? People do worst here in Lagos, remember Funke Akindele, some hotels are still on locked down in Lagos till now for same offences. The day SARS official will arrest you for a minor offence and take laws into their hands you'll come here crying. 1 Like |
