bakynes: We didn’t support the north, let’s not get it twisted. We supported our country and fought against those who waged war against us and we won. Simple and plain, there was no colluding, a nuisance broke the constitution and his people paid the price for it for not talking sense into him, then he ran like a coward after he got dealt with. 2 Likes |

Nice thread. To be honest, I think federalism or regionalism is the best way to go but it doesn't look viable for now. Current SW political leaders are nationalist/pro-one Nigeria. Other options, we should hope for a Yoruba presidency in 2023, we should hope the person has learnt from OBJ mistakes. If things go the other way in 2023, we can wait and see what the person has got for us. Yorubas are very intelligent and smart people, we can manage any situation. We don't take sides without proper reasons, we are diplomatic, we don't let our emotion, religion or whatsoever affect our decisions or moves. Finally, not to sound unpatriotic but I don't think this country is redeemable, lets just survive and make a good life for ourselves, family and children. kudos to you people; diplomat058 iceberg3 llakes4real helinues igboid 2 Likes |

Odingo1: Yes Igbos have only ruled for less than two years, but the actions taken in those two years is what has gotten us to where we are today. Was it not an igbo man that collapsed the regional arrangement? Was it not an Igbo man that led the first ever coup in Nigeria? Was it not an Igbo man that stripped the various regions of their constitutional powers and concentrated it at the center? Was it not an Igbo man that vehemently fought against the idea of having a secession clause in our constitution? So yes, the igbos haven't ruled Nigeria as mush as the Hausas and Yorubas but their actions and inactions during their short stint in power was what laid the foundation for the problems we find ourselves today |
