@Sagamite

Sagamite is a boorish brat and known retar.ded. The dullard jumps into issue he/she knew little about. In one of his/her previous posts, the deranged poster alluded the father abandoned Stacie Turner and she is not Nigerian too. Stacie never indicated not being a Nigerian in the article. At least, she is now a person of dual citizenship.

Being a Nigerian is one of the reasons that drove her to embark on a journey to Nigeria in search for her father when there were ceaseless waves of kidnappings. She is one determined Igbo girl both in spirit and physic. Talking about Stacie’s wedding, she is not married as far as her father is concerned because the traditional Igbo rites of marriage were not yet accomplished.

If you know the circumstances surrounding her father’s departure from USA or the fight Stacie’s mother stood up against her father returning to Nigeria with Stacie, please tell us.

You are reeetarded!

See you thinking level: Because she is desperate to know her biological father, that makes her a Nigerian?

Cretin!

ezeagu:

Exactly, so where in the report did it say that she was pressured into re-doing her wedding, in fact where does it say that the family wanted her wedding redone? And you're asking me about comprehension? I already asked you to go and find the transcript from the newspaper of the private conversation you know so much about and you ignored it. Next time it would be better to think about an argument before you make one or else you'll just be digging yourself deeper like you are now.

You are still struggling with comprehension.

Impose --> pressured

Deduce --> know

Are you thick or it is time I buy you that dictionary or you want me to get you a grammar tutorial?

presido1:

Is Sagamite another user name for Kobojunkie.

Nairaland wikileak over to you. Give us answer pls.

Abeg, no compare me with Kobo o.

My intellect is way higher than what Kobo can ever dream of having.

udezue:

If she wanted to do it then it is her business. I saw the show and she was excited about the whole experience of doing a Traditional wedding. Do you know how many black women out there who will like to find out about their true identity and adopt the culture. She has accepted herself as an Igbo woman.

Sagamite should quit the claptrap.

The fact that she is ecstatic about doing it does not matter jack to my argument. That is just a positive outcome. Focus on the crude action.

THEY SHOULD NEVER HAVE IMPOSED!

It is better they INFORM her about the culture CASUALLY, and after the information if she and her husband wanted to perform it, the couple can suggest/volunteer to take part. That will be when you can say "it is her business".

philip0906:

This is coming from the same reetard that only complains but never has a solution?

And you talk about basic reasoning and common sense?

She is not an actress, she is just a cast of a reality TV show.

wow, what kills me is that her birth mother does not want to have a relationship with her,

My Birth Family
In the show, viewers got a glimpse of my personal journey to find my birth parents—who I discover to be Caucasian and Nigerian. I am eternally grateful to my birthmother for her selfless act of love—giving me up for adoption to my loving and wonderful parents, Catherine and Thomas Scott. Both are deceased now. And it was only after discovering a medical need to know my medical history that I embarked on a journey to find my biological parents. Long, long story short… I have found both. I respect my birthmother’s desire to maintain her privacy and not have a relationship. However, I am overwhelmed and thrilled to find a welcoming family in Nigeria--my birthfather, 10 siblings and a huge extended family --- who I plan to meet in the upcoming months

What I don't understand is why you lot are drinking viagra for another man's hard on problems. Seriously arguing about something like this is very daft! The igbos love money right can we all move on now? Are you guys really that bored?
Re: After 42 Years, Hollywood Star, Stacie Turner, Reunites With Igbo Father by aminalib(f): 7:12am On Jan 18, 2011
she made her money doing realestate, she is not an actress, im assuming the writers just called her an actress since she is on a reality show.

Re: After 42 Years, Hollywood Star, Stacie Turner, Reunites With Igbo Father by carnal: 8:03am On Jan 18, 2011
Her marriage has been, and will continue to be, fine with or with Igboland recognition or respect.

For one, she was not raised as an Igbo, so she should not be required or needed to marry according to the culture or tradition considering her plight. They should simply welcome her and accommodate her instead of imposing rubbish on her at first instance of meeting. If the couple were the ones that insisted on doing it the Igbo way, then great.
If she asked then that is fine.
--------------------------------------
To impose on her is crude, uncouth and inconsiderate.

i totally agree wit sagamite on the above quotes.very soon she will be 'forced' to build an apartment for her father who abandoned her.is it dat we dnt hv shame wen we rool out dis our so called tradition?u abandoned me for donkey number of years when i needed ur love, protection, guidiance and direction as a father, suddenly i made all the efforts to locate u and u suddenly put on silly traditional demand on me.see me see trouble oooo.

I fail to understand the reason for all these ethnic jealousy.Even when Forest Whitaker traced his root to Nkwerre and came home to collect a title,it was a jealousy galore.I seriously doubt if Igbos will criticize Obama for taking a Kenyan title.

BTW I noticed that many AAs seem to try as much to establish their African roots while others try to distant themselves from Africa.

@agbaworo,dis is not about jealousy my broda.my own question still remain dat.u abandoned a child for dat long, she located u and all u could put on her is some yeye tradition?is it not the same tradition that maks sure a man takes good care of his family rathan than run away from his responsibility?let us look at dis tin logically instead puttin tribalism/tradition into almost every issue on NL.if stacie was on hard drug, kill ppl and her name is on d news all over d world as a murderer will d father has made d same demand?
my question-are u in support of dis demand from d father?

I never said it was wrong, it should just have been her COMPLETE choice from even conception. It is classy she should not be put in an awkward position where it is possible she might feel her response might be offensive/disappointing.

Have you ever thought about the fact that she may be doing it to feel a bit more connected to her new found family
Surely it isn't as serious as you lot are making it out to be. It simply isn't that serious!

I never said she might not be doing it to feel connected. I am not focussed on the outcome.

I am focussed on the conception and against the crude imposition. Enlightened people would have made the conception of the idea hers, not an imposition on her.

chika98:

To me it is not a serious thing.

What is making it appear serious is the attempt I am making to let the dunces get it that imposing on her is a typical, annoying crudeness we Africans frequently dogmatically display on people.

They should have informed her this is how Igbos do things and then hopefully she would have said something like "I want to do that, it is nice and would be fun". Not tell her she did not marry properly and insist her husband come and pay dowry.

One is an enlightened and civilised interaction. The other is crude and dogmatic interaction.

The dunces can not get the argument is what is serious.

I understand your sentiments completely but maybe they did tell her about it like " oh this is how we do it" and she out of her own free will decided to give it a go. Perhaps that is how it happened. I doubt a grown woman such as her self is being coined into doing something she really doesn't want to do.

Africans have and will always impose but this is a discussion for another day. My whole point here is . . . These back and forth is rather redundant now. You have even said it yourself trying to make uncouth people understand where you're coming from is like watching a paint dry. They will not understand where you're coming from. Neither will you them. Now let's all call it day shall we now?

When a dog bites a man it wont be in the news but when a man bites a dog it makes headlines with bold red colour, this is not the first time things like this is happening, some  ppl just dey voice out opinions while some slowpoke's just seeking attention! The funny thing is that none of theses cockroaches knows nothing abt any  tradition of the igbos,so why not just stop the hate nd be real? If any other tribe is performing their stuff then its kool, some of dem are just jealous cos that kind of reunion no go ever happen in their own family, I bow 4 ppl sef

Common sense isn't common after all.
How hard is it to understand that you can't impose an idea in the name of culture and/or tradition on a 42 year old? Let alone a 42 year old american??
