This was Tokunbo, right? Already registered SUV from Lagos to Benin nko currently?

Years ago I paid 40k because it was urgent.

Bro Registered or tokumbo should be the same price or registered would be a little cheaper. What matters most is the distance and fuel consumption of the car.

All these people saying settlement of police and custom reach 30k makes me wonder o. Even Lagos to Abuja sef. I n my brother toured those roads almost 10times back in 2018 in a 2006 corolla. We fuel 8K and that gets us comfortably to abuja on full air con.
We never settled police, army or custom up to 30k, not even 10k sef. Highest we settled was one a trip we forgot to carry MOT custom paper n we settled 5k. So me I don't understand o.
Except maybe now that there's a lock down, it may even exceed that 30k
The road no be here, immediately after EPE because I live on the island my settlement started.
Even some villages will block roads and tell you Ogun state is on lock down for two weeks and you will have to settle again before you can move.
They also have this security people I have forgotten their name, those ones also need settlement before you can pass otherwise they will block you and call police.
In fact normal police that collect #200 before now insists on #500, soldiers hardly ask for money before but they also collect something before you pass their check point.
No be child's play

This is ridiculous. Fuel money sef will take up to 15 or 20k. Abuja back to Lagos is not less than 10k. Miscelleneous 6k is okay (for settlement of Police on the Road). Guy you too wicked.

I won't undertake that trip for less than 60k:

Fuel: N20,000
Transportation back to Lagos: N15,000 (guy, I go chop for road on my way back)
Sorting on the road/feeding: N10,000
Workmanship: N15,000
U exxageratted. Feeling won't cost more than 10k. Transport back to Lagos is 10k. Just add woorkmanship in d region btw 20-30k

You are just running your mouth on things you no nothing about,
Fuel is between 8k to 10k if it is an old model car, but any new model car or Jeep/v8 fuel is like 15k to 17k

Each police check point he is suppose to pay between 200 to 500 for ordinary citizen, whether your paper is complete nor not, but since he is a police officer he wouldn't pay this

Custom check point is between 1000 or 2000 depending on the year of the car, he will pay this custom nor send police

Soldier check point is 200 to 500 depending on your negotiation skill, he will also pay this, even though he is a police officer

Police check point from Lagos to abj is between 20 to 30, soldier should b up to six and custom 10 or more.

There will be feeding and transport back to Lagos.

Experience person will charge you between 70k to 100k

20 to 30 check points
10 custom check points
6 soldier checkpoint.

Biko... who come dey sitdown station?
oh Nigeria... go to police stations in the evenings around 4 to 6pm, you will see them sharing money like market women right in the public eye.

Things to factor
1) fuel to abuja
2) police settlement
3) feeding on the way
4) his transport to come back
5) Accomodation to sleep over
6) extra money for unforseen circumstances
7) His pay after the work

The above is what i put into consideration before i drive from Lagos to ph or umuahia.

What's funny. At the present rate of fuel N123.5, 8k fuel is enough for a Toyota.

I drive a Peugeot 206. When petrol was N145, 8k fuel fills its tank from empty to full and it goes to akure from Lagos and back

Maybe your car transmission is faulty hence increasing fuel consumption and you're now thinking that's the normal thing
8k fuel no fit do from Lagos to Abuja Boss

[quote author=Oluromantic post=89906831]First is it a person you know or trust? Does the car have a tracker? Do you know the condition of the car before it leaves Lagos? Does he have a valid driver's license? Would you have him sign an undertaking before d deal? 60k is enough[/quote

10k is too small because the driver will take a bus to come back to lagos after delivery the car. They normally take 60k both their settlement on the road and buying of fuel. Fuel is 15k depending on the car, settlement of the police, custom, soldiers and other uniform personel and ununiform people too will cost about 10k then his transport fare back to Lagos from Abuja is 10k then the other 25k is for his risk and profit. But the car owner must make sure he has original and complete paid custom duty. If the car is a registered one, the document must be up to date or he will either lose the car or spend more.

For crying out loud, why is everyone attacking oluromantic for giving his sincere opinion? Even to the point of calling him names?? If you're not down with his suggestions then kindly give yours and don't try to downplay someone elses contributions just to stress your points. It uncalled for. Enough of the name calling and bashings already. Abeg.

Put yourself in the drivers shoe.. Even if he knows the person..,, trans back to lagos is how much, what will be left with him after transporting himself back to lagos, except if he will give him trans to lagos back., every other exps on his way.. Then extra 10k - 15k for work done.. Which still little to me

30k - 40k isn't too much (Inclusive of police share on his way to abj)

If the owner is to go pick the car, and get back.. Check out his expenses, time spent and stress driving back to Abj...

I paid 50k,he bought fuel.. Etc

So how does the person gets back to Lagos after driving down?
You mean a man should risk his life down to Abuja because of paltry ₦10k considering how unsafe our roads are?

Are there any conditions usually given?

Any thing that I need to know please.

₦10k for fuelling the car.

₦10k for his/her transportation back to Lagos.

₦20k for his efforts/service charge.

Extra ₦10k to sort police and Road safety official's if the Car is not registered.

Don't even factor this in your arrangement. What if he picks an armed robber. Police may charge him the amount they charge the transporters seeing that he is having a full load of passengers.

80k,

You are right.

That shld be the starting point. If you (OP) pay him 10k, hv u considered the risk and expenses if u driving it your self.
When some people are already offering him 40&50k?
Those ones hvent been on the road lately that's why, any serious person won't take anything less than 80k.

Yeah fuel money-8k
His trans back-6k
Miscellaneous-6k
His workmanship-10k
That's 30k. So negotiate for 30-35k when u call him. Highest he'll end it at 40k

You're just all over the place quoting rubbish price; are you that poor? Which company will carry you from Abuja to Lagos under this Corona interstate restriction of movements within states, for 6k? People are paying 25k to move from portharcourt and other Eastern states to Lagos and you are calling 6k from Abuja to Lagos. His workmanship 10k? So you are telling me risking his life to drive from Lagos to Abuja, all he is worth is 10k? Are you even thinking of the things you are typing out at all? If you are not knowledgeable about something, it wouldn't hurt if you keep quiet and allow people who know about it to talk. I've been paying drivers well over 50/60k to deliver cars to Abuja since 5/6 years ago. You are here telling people to pay 40k in 2020. Why don't you help the op drive down for that amount since your life is meaningless to you. How do some of you reason at all? You want to pay a full grown adult 10k to drive to Abuja when I paid someone 10k to deliver car from egbeda to ojodu berger just last week(service fee 5k,fuel 1.5k, cab to get home after curfew met him outside 4k)? Some of you are very heartless sha.
