Luckily, with maturity comes the ability to not "give up" on all, just because of a few (well in this case quite a bit). I also have to remember that a lot of the folks in here are teens & 20 somethings (& maybe even young kids.....which is scary) Although I'm not old, I definitely am not a teen or 20 something year old. Well, I still like the site overall. I'm gonna visit other rooms on the site. If anything, I'm gonna keep reading the he threads to learn words, hopefully their meanings, sentence structure! Sorry folks, Didn't want to overwhelm you guys with so much info. If you read this, it's supposed to come after my firsr post. So let me finish my list.
2.) Size/Shape-I though Nigerian men didn't mind a fuller woman...yet in the "Romance" section, all I see is guys begging for "slim women." 3.) Obsession (with) Money- So many guys complain about the women wanting money...but it seems that the guys want it just as much. 4.) Oversexualization-I though Nigerian men were (for the most part gentlemen). If I hadn't seen the foreign words (which I don't know the meaning of...I would've thought I was in an American chatroom. This is NOT a complaint post....I just am seeing oposite of what I expected....maybe it's just that times have changed..perhaps?? You have to be very careful the impression you get on this site. Most of the folk posting stuff are trolling or just being mischecious. It gives them more likes and make them more popular/notorious. I'm surprised you didn't mention the unnecessary insults. Don'ttake what you see here to heart. The average nigerian is better than this. |
Family › Re: What Men Feel After Divorce? by 5minsmadness: 1:43pm On Dec 17, 2016 |
What men feel after divorce
Loss: most men do not want thier marriages to break down and feel a deep sense of loss after the act has been finalised. However they quickly get over this. Depending on the reason for the divorce or if they or the wife initiated it, the feeling of loss lasts about an average of 6months.
Retrospection: A lot of men give up their dreams for marriage, although men arent great talkers so you hardly hear about it. A divorce allows a man the solitude and silence of deep introspection and the opportunity to pick up where he left off the track when he married.
Women: I personally know of a colleague who got divorced one day and the next day three women (one married) brought dishes for him on the pretext of "caring". More women start knocking on your door to see if you're back in the dating game, many of them admiring you from afar but being able to approach on account of 'madam'. When u see divorced men getting back to the altar quickly, most times it because another woman has rushed in to fill the vacuum. This isnt a gender-salvo. Its just the way it is.
Food: Has been taken care of by the women above. The man may feel a small sense of loss at his wife's cooking, but the convinence of fast food joints, bukas, and random offerings from the office put a quick end to that dilemma.
Love: Most men have a plateau like gradient when it comes to the emotion of love. This means that, if they were indeed still in love with their wife after the divorce, rather than fall into bitterness like thier womenfolk, they assume a state of coldness or nonchalance. They may not pass a general judgement on tye rest of the world's women as being evil, but they will never let thier hearts go to love as deep as they did previously with thier wives. Their guard will always be up and will view women as people to be used and dumped.
Children. This is the part where the man usually feels the most bitter, once again depending on the nature of the divorce. A man tends to be more practical and would want to know where his obligatory rights stand. Most men would want an all or none conclusion. Either the children stay with him and he takes care of them or they stay with thier mom and she takes care of them. Children staying with thier mom while the man doles out cash from afar feels like disloyalty and a perpetual irritant. How is he sure the woman he currently hates (depending on the reason for tue divorce) is not taking his money meant for the kids for her own selfish gains? Recurrent thoughts like this are a constant irritation.
Health: is directly related to his relationship with his wife. If she was the cause of his ulcer and high bp, his health imporves drastically as soon as she is gone. He looks more alive and is more friendly and outgoing both at home and at work. If the wife was one who took good care of him and catered to his well-being, his health naturally drops. |

Kazrem: Sorry, I couldn't on time. The one they sis this morning was 172. This after is 190. I have not asked for evening figure. The nurse said the morning figure is the real one. Ok. Its not so bad, a little more and they should be able to reach her target. From the pics you posted there it is evident that they know what they are doing. Mesporin and levoflox at the same time indicates they are battling hard with sepsis/infection. The second X-ray i guess is to see the level of bone involved. From all indications they are doing a good job. There is hope yet. What's her bp like this morning? Is mama chatting with you guys or is she sleeping most of the time? Are her responses coherent? That leg should come off by next week. If she survives the surgery she should be well on her way to recovery. Another thing, anyone of you guys there giving her food that the doctor has not recommended are just making things worse. No eba, fufu, akpu, rice, yam, bread, honey, herbal concoctions, bitters, or what have you. If you are sneaking it in to her you have to stop that now. Unripe plantain, wheatmeal, quakeroats, beans and bean products like akara, moi-moi: that should be her diet for now and she should be strictly on it. This will bring her sugar level below 140mg/dL and hasten her recovery. |

merahki: Hello Mine has to be very successful, and wealthy, and more (covers face) However this need of mine is not because I am a leech.... but deeply stems from the fact that I need the man to be "God" in my relationship (no blasphemy intended)
That God of mine has to be superior to me -riches, knowledge, experience, power, age, wisdom, you name it, a mix of father and lover who is very indulgent of my wildness, my excesses, my "unrealistic" expectations about life . As such, I would be most intolerant of a bad lover, of a man I know more stuff than, of a man that is not a total provider. He lets me have puleeenty money to play with, even though I am a professional who earns money too. Having me "bring to the table" will kill my respect for him. He has to know things ...at the same time, I dont want a Googler, if you know what I mean. He is beautiful to look at, does healthy living without much puffing, huffing and preening (if obvious, he would turn me off). He definitely is not a calorie counter, and not vegetarian. He is a drinker but not a drunk....not an alcoholic.
Of course I do not expect him to do chores..not because he should not, but because my fantasy would be crushed seeing my man getting into all the equality movement about house chores. Sometimes would be nice...the way I can get up and get him treats sometimes too....not all the time. He would indulge my love for my family, he would simultaneously be mildlly obssesive and aloof at the same time.....he is not clownish about religion, that is, it would be most hard for me to fall for the "saved and vocal about it" type....if he identifies as Christian it is cos that was how he was raised.....but he is also broad -minded enough to know that it is something to be really quiet about and if pushed, mildly ashamed of (the fact that we have no philosophy of our own)....but, he is not an atheist, have to say this.
There is no man like this is there? . I am now closer to 40 than 30....jeez, and obviously single.... I believe my flights of fancy are too much for being a wife....I have tried many times but I am more comfortable with males as friends and relatives.....this way, they can be flawed and I would still love them....with a significant other, they have to be infallible demi-gods. The men in my life love me, but all consider me "too foreign" (suspect they are being kind here)
It is no wonder I am single, but I have met two people who came close (will share one) - one was "it" until I drove with him from my city to the capital city in a car and trip that had it all....until I smelt it, never heard it....in a closed car with AC and soft music, this smell came and killed off all the romance in me. No words, just the shock on my part, and I dunno, the entitlement? on his part...considering he did not wind down or say sorry. I was grateful he did not though, weirdly so, acknowledging it would have been too much for me to handle then. I jes sucked it in.....while love was sucked right outta of me. Afterwards I never could keep that outta my head. SMH, at me. Well, fart smell in a car....I did not do it, and there were only two people there, so no brainer who did it. Gods do not fart like that! They do shaa...I know, butti.....
Well, this is why I am comfortable being single....there has to be the "God" ...if not, I am totally fine. I think I am a terrific relative , friend, girlfriend/lover, and ironically a person people want their advice a lot on relationship issues...I dunno why.....I have a suspicion that as a wife? The typical one who is earth mother and all that? I am not it . But it is okay too. Maybe one day would find that man who wants to just pamper me to pieces as a companion who lights up his life....he is not looking for the conventional wife and mother to his kids, he ideally does not even want kids, or can just consider one....that would be me. (Shrugs)
This could be why NL gender wars fly over my head...I know I might be atypical in my wants and desires...I side with the different stories based on how they touch my heart. But I despise unkindness, desperation and manipulation of any kind...so my guilty party is almost invariably the person who has these. (Hope I have answered your question?....this is my truth..well, there is more, but that should be for when I write my memoir! Excuse this already too long post) Cheers Wow! This was awesome! |

Mimzyy: What a country we live in! This is so sad. Her condition keeps deterioration by the day and the doctors are just acting at snail speed. This is so unfair. Someone's life is at stake here. Its not that easy dear. Hypertension is the first issue. If she is taken to the theatre she might suffer a stroke or the increased blood pressure might make her bleed out. She's also at risk of a cardiovascular accident(heart attack). So they need to sort that out. If her glucose levels are not under control she might go into hypoglycemic shock or Diabetic Ketoacidosis/hyperosmolar non-ketotic coma( big words for very high sugar levels that induces coma) and not wake up. That on it's own is a sword of damocles. Then there's the ever present threat of overwhelming sepsis from the necrotic/gangrenous/dead foot. And then there's her age to consider. She's and elderly/geriatric patient and they dont do too well under anaesthesia/surgery if all parameters are not optimal. The only issues i am having with the doctors is that they dont seem to be explaining what's happening to the op. Also i dont see the need for the other X-ray of the foot unless the first one wasnt clear. Unless it was a chest xray? It may not be a spiritual attack but she definitely needs prayers. P. S in my opinion that foot should go off now to give her a fighting chance. My colleagues may disagree. |

From the referral note, Mama is hypertensive with a blood pressure of about 180/110, it is such a huge risk for surgery coupled with the her diabetic state. No sane doctor will tempt it. It has to be reduced and controlled before making an attempt.
I wish mama quick recovery. Amen. She's hypertensive as well?! Oh dear. |
