Things Nigerian Wives Expect From Their Husbands

1. To be a servile retard_ who puts up with their every excesses, ranging from feminism to incessant nagging e.tc etc.

2. A fat bank account.

3. He must be a virgin, but must have excellent skills in sexual matters.

3. He must be tall, super handsome with six packs and pink lips, even though they are anything but beautiful.

4. He shouldn't take offence as regards her flirting freely with random dudes, but should automatically transform into a faggot_ immediately he steps outta the house.

5. He must be an embodiment of kindness, honesty, compassion, docile humility and gentleness.

6. On no account should he raise his hand to strike them, despite the fact that they launched the first blow, or provoked him to the limit of human endurance.

6. Sweeping the house, doing the utensils, bathing the kids, preparing the meals are the basic responsibilities of a husband. Without objection. Unless he's no real man.

7. Staying away from sex under punishment (reason not taken into consideration) from madam should come easy to him. But must always be ready to rise to the party whenever wifey beckons.

And more...
Even though there is some level of sarcasm in this post, I think it is quite realistic and a dream of many nigerian women.

1) faithfulness

2) respect

3) support (financial, emotional, physical etc. the whole being a partner thing fits in here)

4) conjugal obligations. We understand if he's not in the mood once in a while. Always is a no-no.

5) respect and care about our family members too.
3 is quite vague. Emotional support how?
Nothing about helping you carry baby for an hour or two?
4. If he's not in the mood? When are men never in the mood?
Anyway, I trust u. If he steps out of line even once you will divorce him grin

This is what i want from my man:

* A listening ear
: Don't increase the volume of the TV when i am having a discussion with you. Let me know that you are paying attention to me.

* Be honest with me
: Tell me things exactly the way they are, do not tell me what you feel i want to her. Don't try to sugar-coat the truth no matter how bitter it is.

* Understanding: If you do not understand me, then, who else will. You need to understand my mood swings, everything. You should be able to tell why i do the things i do.

* Loyalty: I know that i am not the most beautiful girl in the world, i can be a mess to handle at times. I might not give you sex when you want it 'cos of the "i am tired" flimsy excuse but please, stay loyal to me. You saw that beautiful, yellow, flawless skinned chick with a big, round ass before you decided to settle for a chocolate diva, you knew there was (still is) something unique about me. So, whenever you are tempted to be unfaithful, remember that thing!

* Be Financially Independent: I will not saddle you with responsibilities but please, be hardworking and success oriented.

* Be Caring/Romantic: Why do you want to stop doing all the things you used to do before i agreed to date/marry you? We need to keep the spark alive please. Don't stop. You do not have to break a bank and it doesn't have to always be monetary. A one minute phone call to me just to tell me you love me will leave me shinning my teeth like i am a close-up ambassador for the rest of the day. wink

*Be Compassionate
: You need to have human feelings. Be kind and help people as much as you can.

cc: 5minsmadness
Nice list. Very concise and self explanatory wink Communication is veey important in a relationship and you have done very well.
Financially independent though... For the guy? What does that mean? That you will take care of the family but he shouldn't place his financial responsibilities on you? Hehehe

It is interesting no one mentioned wealthy and successful outright.

Or that they expect thier husbands to help with the housechores.

Or that they want thier husbands to give them time alone with the TV sometimes

Or that they woukd like him to listsn to their conversation instead of brushing them off.

Or that the husbands should do a little romancing before sex.

Or that the husband should not leave them alone with the kids all the time. They are his kids too.

Or that the husband should be pleased with whatevermeal they prepare and not insist on a fresh meal when he gets home.

Or that the husband should allow them privacy with thier phones when they are facebooking r whatsapping

Or that the husband should be patient with them and liaten when they are pasaing thier message across.

Or that the husbands should let them win an argument / have the last word in an argument.

Or that the husband should never ever hit them(no one mentioned this!? )

Or that the husband should take them out once in a while, not just only on thier birthday or anniversary (even that one sef, some men no dey do!)

Or that the husband should appreciate them when they spend hours making up and dressing in those killer high heels to too beautiful for them

Or that the husband should appreciate them when they come home with a new hairdo.

Or that the husband should allow them progress in their educational careers

Etc

These are common complaints by women I have come across. However, they hardly pass this message directly to thier husbands. They want all these things (and more I am sure) but when it comes to communicating it, for some reason thet are unable to, however they nag and vex when such things are not done!

See na, I give una chance oh, una dey give telemundo list grin

It may just be a soft tissue infection/cellulitis. Its a bit difficult to say if that's just some necrotic tissue on the skin. I would say its more of a cellulitis which some antibiotic and sugar control will sort out after some weeks.
Let the OP find time and discuss with those managing mama to know what's up. The xrays should help to determine if its more than a soft tissue infection
It seems you are a doctor.

Update.

I left the hospital yesterday to attend to some also important issues at home and at work. But my sister was there. She told me that the doctor came and check the two xray we had done. He then wrote two other xray, one blood test and also wrote that she should take another pint of blood. All will be done today except one of the xray. That will be done on 19th (Monday). The person in charge gave that date for it.

I will go back tomorrow or early Friday morning. I need to vet teacher's report card and record my pupils' work too. Whatever happens I will keep you updated. Thank you all.
I didn't want to get involved in this for certain resons.
However you need to know what's going on.

From your first pic, that leg looks gangrenous and it has affected the sole of the foot.

I'm sorry but most likely the leg will be amputated.

This needs to be done so as to stop the infection from spreading further and also to control her sugar level. Both problems are potentially life threatening.

Do you have an idea what the sugar level is now? Is it below 150mg/dL? If above 150, that may be the reason why they are delaying amputation. Some doctors believe you amputate quickly no matter the sugar level. Others feel the sugar level should be under control before you amputate. All decisions are taking in view of what will provide the best survival chances for the patient.

All the best.

This is kind of like a counter-thread to the "30 things Nigerian husbands want and expect from their wives" but with a twist. I would have drawn up what I think women want from thier husbands but I thought it would be best if we hear from the women themselves. For us men, we feel women complain and argue and vex a lot, but they never really tell us what they want. They think we are mind-readers and when we do ask them what the issue is we get answers like "Use your common sense! ". That is not an answer. It leads some of us to believe that women really dont know what they want, but argue and complain when whatever that thing is isn't done.

So here's passing the ball back to the women. List five things you want and expect from your men/husbands. You can see in our list that we are not assuming, we go straight to the point and we dont barb our list with insults(lol). Of course if you can list more than five points pls go ahead. Let us the men also have an opportunity to hear and learn from you.

Let's go.

Godly? I'm a christian, i believe in Jesus.
But nobody is above mistake.

Also most guys in my situation won't think twice about abortion.
But I feel the foetus deserve the right to live once the egg is fertilized.
You never know the baby maybe a light to his/her generation.

I also believe there nothing new. What matters is how I handle the situation.
That's why I seeking for advice.
You came to the wrong place to seek for advice.

Like you have seen, most of the people here dont give good advice, they are just here mostly to insult others and gloat over other people's misery so they can feel good about themselves. They speak like life for them is perfect and they have never cheated or aborted or made bad choices before. The least they would do for you is give you a second chance. Ignore thier insults and curses. They know no better. When they experience life they will think differently.

To your matter.

You have made the mistake already. You got lonely, lost control of your sexual urge and sought solace outside. It happens more often with men than with women. Men need more self control to keep their libido and excesses in check. Having said that, your ladyfriend is pregnant and this is going to place some serious emotional hurt on your wife. How do you plan on comforting her or making it up to her?

Secondly,

Does your religion allow you to practice polygamy?

I'm glad you are responsible enough to accept your mistake and be there for the woman and her child to be. Most men would force the girl to abort or would leave her high and dry outright (and the same online rabble insulting you for owning up to your mistake will still insult and curse you for deserting her if you did so). I think your plan to sort this out is good. I dont know about marrying your baby-mama (unless your religion allows it) but i guess you should tell your wife about that first before you do. Its one thing to betray her trust by impregnating a girl outside, its another thing to marry same girl witbout her being in the know.

Yes polygamy can be difficult but i assure you (as one who counsels various couples), it is not all doom and gloom and there are many harmonious polygamous families out there. As long as you treat both wives equally and well, your family will thrive.

Even godly people make mistakes. The true christian battle is learning from those mistakes and rising above them, becoming wiser from it. Dont make a similar mistake again in the future.

All the best.

thanks Everyone.

Initially when I was planning to come over, he wanted us to do an intro. But because I still needed to spend quality time with him without the distance barrier, I hesitated. I told my parents then, and they were like they just have to meet him in person, to at least have an idea of who their daughter is getting married to.

Now They talk on phone, whatsapp and all. He wants us to get married. And I totally understand that. He is almost thirty five and he really wants to start a family soon.
@Dbestdoc and others, the only issue I have is he never told me about the permit issue till i got here. I know families can meet, but my family is quite sensitive to marital issues. My parents are marriage counsellors themselves, and being the first, they have been talking about my marriage for a while and they are very sensitive about it. I intend to talk to them though.

@Splinz. yes. That was what he was suggesting, but i said no.
From all you have said eh,

I dont think you want to marry this guy.

Dont get me wrong oh, i am not forcing you to do anything, but looking at the way this thread is going, you have even began to put doubts in my mind.

This guy is good and kind and blah blah, yes we get it.

But I don't think you love him.
Either that or you are scared of commitment.

I've had that experience and I can tell you it was not funny. The kids here shouting "you're a weakling" ain't seen nothing in life. Don't take them serious. In my case, my ex usually displays such aggression when she's climaxing. She would dig her nails into my neck bro while vibrating like cassava leaves in the wind. cry

We had to talk about it when I couldn't bear it anymore cuz the post-secx pain was unbearable. We settled for her to cut her nails. Though she still continued her clawing but there was very minimal bodily injury. I actually enjoyed the fact that she's expressive in bed... except the clawing part. grin

Have a heart-heart talk with your wife. Let her cut the nails. Don't make her feel bad though. Enjoy your marriage!

Modified.
She is not a piece of rag.
She is the most beautiful thing he ever set his eyes upon. He remembers the lovely fragrance of her hair days after she has left his company and that alone makes him smile. He stays up at night and watches her sleep, not believing how lucky he is to have found such a gem. She can do no wrong in his eyes, no wrong at all. Her kiss has more meaning than all the other kisses he has ever experienced, heck, he is blind to any other woman around him. She is all that he sees. She is everything to him.
She is his queen, and he has known her even before they met.

But life is not perfect. People, tribe, the past keep bearing down day after day, night after night. Family and friends fight him and those he holds close to heart offer him no help, no help at all. And the worst if it all is, she begins to crack. She isn't strong enough. Her flaws begin to show. He tries to be strong for the both of them but her mother wont let her see road. His parents are already against him. His blood are already against him.
Love has a surprising way of quickly turning sour. Love alone, sadly, is not enough. And when she begins to act insecure and he realizes those men didnt leave her, she left them because she is fickle...then the sacrifices are all for nothing. Nothing at all.
