it has been happening about 10yrs ago. US states released many people that have served 30, 40, 50 years for crime they did not commit. rascism did play huge role but at the same time there are minute non-black people who faced the same. A Jewish guy was also released after 44yrs in prison for crime he didn't commit back in the days.

So it was a hole in justice system too. Yes, many of them were compensated but to be honest the money was not enough. A back guy that served 45 for crime he didn't commit was paid only 1.2$. this is way to small for wasted time. Another black guy also rejected compensation. It is just what it is. Remember attorney's fee and other fees are included in the compensation. That's messed up.

Very good movie. But he spent 6 years on death row. It was his former cell mate that spent 28 years on death row.

This is why it shdnt be taken lightly for a lady to wrongly accused a man of rape in Nigeria

While going through your comment, I got VERY emotional. Why? A man that was sentenced over 40 years ago still has chance at life. And you have the mind to be talking about sue. And you are talking about injustice. because it he was sentenced by white. Yes it was injustice. And yes, he can sue. But the same system. That is not my point. My points are below.

NIgeria comes to mind. If it were NIgeria, would you have talked about sue? When I remembered the number of NIgerians languishing in jail who have not even seen a court room for years. The condition NIgerian prisoners are kept (even pig pens in Europe have air-condition). SARS kills inmate at will in their cells. Inmates on death row are swap and the unfortunately one killed in place of the one with connection. Human being eating what animal could not eat in some clime.

In 1772, part of the arguments in support of slave trade was that slaves that were marooned to US are living better than free Africans in Africa. Hence, slavery was to improve their standard of living. The same is true today. Inmates in US eat better than most free folks in Nigeria.
