Tosinville:Not just scammers in Africa. There are alot of scammers everywhere around the world and Im shocked but I just wonder why does the blame have to be on Africa especially on NIgeria? Im surprise really! I know they are tons and tons of Non Nigerian scammers out there. . . And even the law have caught them red handed people still wanna blame Africans. . . WHat a shame. . . ![]() Last week our Malaysian police caught a Singaporean scammer scamming our Malaysian lady but the guy was released its because he said that he didnt steal her money. He only make up a fake story but in the end of the day, its her choice to give out the money or not and just like that he was release. What a lucky b4st4rd! |

ogugua88:At this point in my life having failed English does not matter in the least, thus the smile. Grammar police are a bore and have nothing better to do, if that is the reasoning behind the attack they are a pitiful lot. roymary:In your world you actually believe that. Tosinville:I am repeating myself once again. My Nigerian has long ago invited me to come to Nigeria as he would love to show me his country. Also, how would I actually know he is not putting on a show for me if I do come to Nigeria? It's his neighborhood, he knows how to work it. I wouldn't have a clue if what I seen was any more real than what he has been telling me. |

I believe it has more to do with people seeing the Black as in Nigerians and they are then easily scapegoated for the rest of the world. Mostly in the Northeast of the U.S. there is/was a big problem with Russian scammers and I have seen lists on the internet about them also, but they have not gotten the big press of Nigerian scammers. |

Imari:Well, you were discussing dialects and Nairalanders not knowing anything American, so I had to point out your flaws. Tosinville:Oga cool temper. I'll give you three reasons. I'm fond of counting to three tonight: 1) She has never left the country and has already mentioned not travelling to our homeland, hence, I find it safe to conclude she is close-minded about the country. 2) If she enters Naija with her negative mindset, then more than likely she won't benefit from it. 3) If she is being scammed from abroad, wetin make you think say she go survive NAIJA? Not Nigeria o, NAIJA! Abeg no even start with fairy tales. U know very well say oyinbo na fresh target for scammers. |

ogugua88:So it was tit for tat for tit. gotcha' ![]() Tosinville:Now, you have come to the question I had in mind to ask you since you seem to be reasonable. Instead of cash what if I buy his airline ticket to the U.S. for a visit? My neighborhood. My element. |

Pweety4me:I said I changed details and that one I said is less than 20. Ok, it's 17yrs. I am 17yrs his senior. Do you think that will make it "easier"? roymary:BUT. I seen earlier posts in this thread claiming it was some others. I wish people would make up their minds and settle on one poster. |

What if? We prepare our first Nairaland Search & Rescue Team. If things turn for the worst, then our first NSRT will become our very first NFD (Nairaland Funeral Directors). White caskets are in this year. Pz. |

You know in 2011 I can't fathom how people are still being "scammed". Instead of saying this woman is being "scammed" she should be called a "financial fairy godmother." While the man might or might not be telling her a few choice lies, the decision to send $200/month * 3yrs is her personal financial decision. I don't know many American men who are willing to date women that are 20 yrs older than them, so I'm not sure why someone would think that a. . . This incident sort of reminds me a topic where a 50 something year old British grandma went and married a 20 something year old man. When she found out he had been using her, she refused to divorce him. |

HaveSense1:There are tickets that can only be cashed in buy the person who purchased them. The person doing the travel can only travel and not benefit from the tickets in any other way. savanaha:So, there is no such thing as a Cougar in Nigeria? Of course there is just one standard and you know nothing of anything that is not of this one standard? People of all ages and sexes can and do get use by those who only intention is to use them for their gain. That is not the case each and every time for the same exact situation, but is very unfortunate for the one who was used. |
| Re: American Needs Help by savanaha: 7:24am On Feb 22, 2011 |
Imari:My understanding of a cougar is an old woman that goes after younger men. Based on my understanding, the relationships do not actually mature into anything productive. However, if you enjoy playing Suga mama, then good for you. Like I said before I think that you are a "financial fairy godmother" who has doled out around $7,200 if anything you have said here is true. Since it is your money I say if you enjoy giving then more "grease to your elbow" (or something like that). No need to complain. That is if this story of yours has not been concocted to get responses. |

Tosin, You got me bleeped up with your silly ass Kenyan girlfriend. I did not do an online date, engaged, and marriage. I met my NIGERIAN AMERICAN HUSBAND at a family event and HAD AN OFFLINE ENGAGEMENT and marriage ya nukka. I did not GO TO AFRICA FOR NO DICK AND I WENT TO AFRICA WITH MY MAN. No offense to those who did and are going to Africa for some rusty dicks. |

Pweety4me:That is why I am here and posted as I did, the thread title says "American needs help" That help I am seeking from those who know their countrymen as I have stated I know very little about Nigerian men. I have gained a lot of insight from this thread as I haven't talked with him since I posted it. I am giving myself time to straighten all that has been said out in my mind before I confront him with anything. I can't run into a conversation with all this new found knowledge about Nigeria as I want him to believe it's all still good to see where he is coming from I will mete out little by little. I said that I haven't sent him any money in months now as the plan was for him to come for Christmas this year and that would give enough time for two big amounts, so I am ok with not sending any cash, as of now we just talk about things. |

Imari, If you are telling the truth, Just like anywhere you have to be careful meeting someone you haven't seen IN PERSON especially across continent. You have to be careful meeting strange men in a foreign country where you have no families nor friends. Police aren't reliable over there and Embassy can only do so much. If you must meet you sugar boy, bring a girlfriend with you so that you can at least have someone that you know with you. You can also invite a brother or an uncle who wouldn't mind meeting your sugar boy. The bottom line is BE SAFE AND SMART. |

savanaha:Your understand is somewhat in line to what a Cougar is. I guess you didn't understand the rest of what I posted, being that what is "based" on your understanding is only one of the many things that can happen as in any relationship. You wonder, yet you respond. ![]() [quote author=Mrs.Chima link=topic=608521.msg7777663#msg7777663 date=1298356369]Imari, If you are telling the truth, Just like anywhere you have to be careful meeting someone you haven't seen IN PERSON especially across continent.
