This is a serious affront to the state declared amnesty program. We expected our security men to use a style of bravado to capture or kill all the unrepentant criminals all of this while which actually did not yield any results and now the government with good intention of repositioning the state in matters security is being frustrated by the same security that has failed the state since.
There is actually a twist to this which I will submit as follows:
1. Nigerian security agents do not want a lasting peace in the region, they may be directly or indirectly benefiting from the permanent reluctance, therefore chosen to undermine the amnesty program which will certainly prevent other criminals from surrendering their arms anytime soon.
2. Either the guy called Gana has information to provide that could have indicted some senior officers.
The same people who happily celebrated the so-called repentant BH are no longer comfortable with extending the same treatment to Benue State.
I just hope this action by the security men gets a full investigation

Do u really blame the army? Only God knows how many soldiers he had killed, then claimed to retire to embrace an amnesty program that would grant him safe custody. The army couldn't forgive him for their personnel that lost their lives through him, so they avenged their death.

What other options, the army has been chasing bokoboys for 10years and gana for 5years, the Governors only accepted the reality that the army cannot end anything soon, it's better to give money to bandits and they genuinely ceasefire than to continue giving to the army and the state kept on losing lives and properties to their activities.

Calm down. You guys are not seeing the big picture. It's not about the guy anymore, he's dead. It's about the aftermath, the implications of his death. The government should be one of the most trusted entities and when they promise amnesty, it's pertinent that they stand by it, otherwise such a promise wouldn't hold water next time and it would then be more difficult reaching a truce. The army just frustrated the governor's efforts and he needed to make this statement to make it he wasn't just orchestrating a grand plan to lure in the repentant bandits with fake amnesty promise. That's the only way he can make such a promise next time. We may not all be in favour of amnesty and we might advocate that it should never be granted but when it's granted, it should be followed through for integrity sake. The governor might be a suspect but so is the military. Why were they eager to kill him off when he wasn't fighting back, is there something they're not telling us too? They couldn't kill him all this while, and when he was then surrendering, they shot him.
