Look at that guy up that will not be going for service now because he's no longer eligible for NYSC due to ur incessant endless strikes. Why must we the students always pay for this often strikes even wen we have other issues in life to battle? Now that man will not graduate on time again. #EndASUUstrikeNow. |

I think it's high time ASSU explicitly show the public what each level ought to earn and what they're earning under the IPPIS. Afterwards let them identify the allowances that weren't paid and then show evidence of work done for it. Taking side can be difficult, if we don't know where the gap is. |

Puloc: Are you also asking members of ASUU to suffer for the sins of the federal govt?? Can't you see that the only guilty party is exempted? FG has nothing to lose if you haven't noticed. |

9jatriot:Is ASUU asking for higher pay? Is ASUU saying no to accountability? So, what in summary is ASUU's fault in this? Is it a crime to protest? Is it a crime to say "this is bad for me..I don't want"? How is the FG perfectly right? |
Re: FG Blackmailing University Workers Into Enrolling On IPPIS –ASUU by sonofthunder: 1:46pm On Oct 12, 2020 |
9jatriot: You keep missing the point. ASUU has no problem with fishing out ghost workers or staff earning multiple salaries. Maybe you should tell me, why is ASUU against joining ippis? If all you have to say is already in the post mentioned then I don't think we have anything to discuss anymore. |

9jatriot:The case of the Nigerian government is like an investor who bought 30 buses and employed 30 drivers. He negotiated their salary monthly as N40,000. And he forgot about the business. He did not tell them where he wants them to go, he didn't tell them what he wants from them. He feel that they should know that their job is to drive the buses. This investor pays their salary dutifully every month unfailingly and he has done that for 25 years. Since the drivers were tasked with nothing, they do whatever they can with no overall objectives. Now, if you were an auditor to assess this moribund company who will you pass the bulk of the blame to? The truth of the matter is that you have a short sighted government who believe only in using government to get money and spending those monies as fast as they come in. Nigerian government, my friend has NO DIRECTION and no long term purpose! This is the beast killing us all |
Re: FG Blackmailing University Workers Into Enrolling On IPPIS –ASUU by 9jatriot(m): 1:55pm On Oct 12, 2020 |
They claim there are peculiar and should be treated specially, at least that is the vibe I am getting. But the guy paying the salary says, how can you say a system that you have not even tried will not work. Every organization is peculiar, from the hospitals, to the millitary to police to MDAs, they are all peculiar, so what is ASUU about being special sonofthunder: |
Re: FG Blackmailing University Workers Into Enrolling On IPPIS –ASUU by 9jatriot(m): 2:00pm On Oct 12, 2020 |
Then after 25 years, a new guy shows up and while looking at the books noticed that not only are the drivers not doing anything, they have probably sold the buses. Now he decides, henceforth, to ensure this does not happen in future. He comes up with a system (IPPIS) and says drivers must register and be fully responsible for the buses. They will also do daily returns via that system (IPPIS) so that the system becomes transparent. Now tell me, will you now say that you will agree that the drivers go on strike saying they will not register on the system (IPPIS). The your analogy better be a wrong one because it even presents ASUU's case in a bad light. shadeyinka: |

MT:It's still saying the same thing that NNPC, CBN and co GENERATE their own income which clearly is not true. They manage the income generation facility of the government NOT that they generate money for the government. Do they TRADE with their money? Do they INVEST their money? Do they CREATE with their money of effort? The answer to the above is a big fat NO! |

Re: FG Blackmailing University Workers Into Enrolling On IPPIS –ASUU by Nobody: 4:30pm On Oct 12, 2020 |
sonofthunder:Oh so a whole ASUU can not come up with new ways to achieve their demands? The are still sticking to methods that have not achieved anything to their demands for decades. I thought those lectures think but no, all they do is sit back and stick to the same old methods even in their academic works. No Nigerian prof has ever invented anything serious or publish vanguard researches. All the know is copy and pastes from other foreigners work and citations. #EndASUUstrikeNow. |

9jatriot:You seem to miss the key to everything. The investor need to tell his drivers 1. Either to do local running or inter-state running 2. The route of each driver and bus 3. The target expectations for each route 4. Method of fueling, repairs and disposing of vehicles after a certain age. etc. It is after this he can expect anything meaningful. What does the FG want from the Research institutions? What does the FG want from the Universities? It seems they don't have the smallest idea. This is their major failure. It's amazing that a country as big as Nigeria cannot in 2020 completely manufacture a bicycle and your government doesn't see it as their failure of management. It's amazing that a country as big as Nigeria cannot in 2020 completely manufacture a pin or needle and your government doesn't see it as their failure of management. It's amazing that a country as big as Nigeria cannot in 2020 completely clothe itself and your government doesn't see it as their failure of management. If I lie, please speak up? |

This your write up is strange. Even the name research institution means you are supposed to do research. I don't understand you at all. Every institution or parastatal that has been set up has a mandate. Even if there was no mandate, mission statement or vision statement. You mean if FG set up a hospital, the doctors will not know what the place is for? CRIN for example is research institute for Cocoa, without being told, is that place not supposed to improve the yield of each seedlings? Is it not supposed to help farmers improve their yield per hectare, plot, acre If this is the argument you guys have with government, then I would also see your organization as a liability if you do not know what you are supposed to do. Now to the driver analogy. the 1-4 you wrote are correct. However, if the owner fails to tell you, what was then in your application letter that you wanted to do? If you are really serious, why not ask the employer what exactly your role is? Instead you were doing nothing for 25 years... This nonsense cannot happen in the private sector, never. shadeyinka: |

People who know nothing about IPPIS will take sides with the govt..this scheme has benefitted none who enrolled in it, even with the recent promotion of last December i was shocked when i saw the first IPPIS Salary alert(twas reduced). It keeps flaunting like Nigeria's electricity or is it the part that you have to wait till the middle of another month before being paid for the previous month. |

9jatriot:Like our government, you still dont get it! Research for what? Research is vague if it is not targeted to a purpose. It is not the job of the researcher to determine or set the purpose. It is the employer of the researcher who determines what the direction of a research will be. A Researcher is just like a LIBRARY! A Library (Just like a research institution) has capability for many things however, what you get out of a library is a function of your intention. WHAT IS THE INTENTION OF NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT FOR OUR RESEARCH INSTITUTION? NOTHING! |
