The fact that other people are breaking the law doesn't mean you too have to break the law.
Leadership. People tend to follow their leader - whether for good or for bad. I call in role modelism. You role model could be your father or mother, politician, religious figure, historical figure, etc. In Nigeria most of our role models are politicians or rich men of questionable character and wealth.

You don't have to steal or rape because other people are doing the same thing.
People do infact steal or rape if their role model encourages it. People even commit suicide at the prompting of their role model

Just obey the law as a good citizen.

It impossible to obey the law when the lawmakers and law executors don't obey the law.

Obey the law and they won't impound and auction your car.

Obey the law, simple.
The Lagos State government or any other government don't have the powers to impound and auction your car. That's is against section 44 (1) of the Nigerian constitution, which states and I quote;

44. (1) No moveable property or any interest in an immovable property shall be taken possession of compulsorily and no right over or interest in any such property shall be acquired compulsorily in any part of Nigeria except in the manner and for the purposes prescribed by a law that, among other things -

(a) requires the prompt payment of compensation therefore and

(b) gives to any person claiming such compensation a right of access for the determination of his interest in the property and the amount of compensation to a court of law or tribunal or body having jurisdiction in that part of Nigeria.

How can people obey the law when the government itself is lawless.

Lol. 12 pages of idiocy addressing the attention-seeking lunacy of an IPOBian witch.

How many of you drive in Lagos daily is what I want to know. I don't have time arguing with bored, hateful, anti-government, attention-seeking or idiotic douchebags.

I drive in Lagos daily and cannot count the number of times I have come close to losing my life because of lawless drivers driving the wrong way against traffic,

Nigerians are lawless and very irresponsible. Full stop. Normal deterrent that work elsewhere is nothing to the most abnormal, hardened, lawless and irresponsible people on Earth.

Auction their cars, burn it and then jail offenders. That is the suggested solution coming from a real and fed up user of Lagos road who is in danger every single damn day.

The IPOBian witch should know her 15 minutes of fame is over. She now needs to stop the attention-seeking. Let her go to Abia and Ebonyi to begin championing the cause of lawless killer drivers there.

I am sick and tired of everyone in Nigeria coming to trend, shalaye and seek attention with Lagos and SW matter. Rubbish.

That was how one okada guy driving oneway almost knocked me off...one way punishment should be for both cars, keke and okada.

Again, the fact that leaders are not following the law doesn't mean you have to be lawless to.

You don't have to steal and rape because other people are doing the same thing.

Imagine you and other L;agosians driving against traffic and killing innocent people just because other people are driving against traffic.

Nigeria is lawless because the leaders, the old and the youths are all lawless.

The youths with their own lawless ways and mentality have zero moral authority to question lawless leaders because they are all the same.

You can do better if you really want a better Nigeria.

You misread and misinterpreted the law you referenced.

Yes, the government can not take over your property for no reason and without adequate compensation, but not when it has to do with criminal activities and infractions against the law.

It's already ben decided that the FRSC by law can impound your vehicle.

FRSC can impound vehicles on all public roads, court rules

The Federal High Court in Abuja has affirmed the powers of the Federal Road Safety Corps to enforce traffic laws on all public roads in Nigeria and impound violators’ vehicles.

This is why these social media activists lack credibility and sense of community, this woman should be out there doing PSA and advising people to stop driving against traffic because people are dying, but they are too misguided and obsessed with criticize government by any means necessary mentality.

That section is taken from the part of the constitution that addresses the fundamental rights of citizens. No right is absolute and the constitution always states the limitations beaneath the rights. He stopped before he got to the limitations. This is the full thing. Note the part in bold text.

Auction is better. Perhaps the owners can buy back their cars, and learn.

In "saner climes" like Australia, not only is the car impounded, but it is crushed.
