I hope you can name the ringleaders since you know who they are and what they do.

I don't know why you people are so mad and upset over basic laws designed to protect your life and property.

You sound extremely lawless too.

What is this saying... You better no make i swear for you here.... A driver driving one way killed Bayo on 17 of March 2015 and you are here trying so hard to sound intelligent.

In saner climes, they crush the cars not even auction them.

This is 2021, please and please let's only talk when we have something to say and not when we have to say something.

A driver driving one way killed my mom’s friend in the New Garage-Apata road in Ibadan back then.

The woman is a primary school headmistress, she just left school to do something around Orita Challenge and one man just drove through one way and crushed her, she died on the spot.

If I am the Governor, I will crush their cars like you said because We Nigerians are lawless and if they say they should pardon them, they will still do the same thing the next time.

If people know their cars will be crushed if they drive one way, they will be scared to do that in the future.

Thank you.

Some Nigerians are just too lawless for their own good, they go to other countries and obey their laws, but never in Nigeria because Nigeria is their jungle where they get to do whatever they want, disobey laws as much as they want then turn around to shout and yell that other countries are better than Nigeria.

Very mind bugling.

Why do you think Nigerians go to other countries and obey their laws but the minute the land at Murtala Mohammed Airport, they become lawless.
The simple answer is that in those countries, no one is above the law. Everyone is subject to the law irrespective of class, connection or position.
Here is Nigeria the law only applies to poor people or people without position or connection.

First of all I support D.J. switch, why? Because they would only impound the cars of poor struggling Nigerians. Big men like senior members of the armed forces, police and paramilitary, senior political leaders, even ordinary rich business men and religious leaders (who have police escorts anyway) drive one way and break traffic rules without the risk of being arrested, not to talk of being prosecuted.

If Lagos State government wants to be tough on traffic offences, why not be tough also on corruption offences. I would support impounding cars that drive one way if Lagos State government pass the death penalty for corruption and political violence.

I like and admire DJ Switch, but she got it all wrong on this issue.

The cars being auctioned are those confiscated for passing one way or driving against traffic.

The fine/punishment over the years kept increasing from cash fine to jail terms to psychiatric evaluation to community service to crushing before this auctioning.

The govt has tried everything to stop people from driving against traffic and this is where it is right now.

The real question is why are we driving against traffic?

This is what I don't get about the so called Nigerian youths and the lost, destructive, lawless and misguided Sorosoke loudmouths, they lied and spread dangerous fake news and propaganda that destroyed Lagos state, destroyed jobs, destroyed businesses and decimated the IGR base while demanding a better country when in fact they are the most destructive and lawless people in Nigeria.

Now we have lawless mentality youths and hypocrites rioting and demanding a better country, but simple laws and reflections of a better, sane and orderly society they can not obey, abide by or even support.

People don't drive against traffic in sane and orderly societies not only because they know that it's very dangerous and deadly, but also against the law and it comes with serious repercussions.

Bro look link you post nah, nah repeat offender. In as much as I do not encourage breaking traffic rules, I think the Government ought to do more as regards enforcement... Fines, community service could come as 1st time offenders punishment, when it becomes a repeat offence u can feel free to even incarcerate that offender.

Also, it would be nice if all 1 way are properly labelled to avoid mistakes by people who do not know.

This lawless and thoughtless woman need to explain to families and victims of these dangerous and reckless drivers why they should not be punished and just receive a slap on the wrist instead.

The government putting laws in place and enforcing the laws to protect and save the lives of law abiding citizens is showing that they care about the people, the heartless people are the evil people and lawbreakers on our roads killing innocent people.

So, the government enforcing the law to protect innocent Lagosians is heartless, but the lawbreakers and killers on our roads are not heartless.?

I don't even see any sense in your post, sorry to say.
You won't see sense because you are biased. Every breaking of law has a penalty and I have never see one day in Nigeria or Lagos law that breaking of road rules lead to the auctioning of cars or if u have seen that rule In Lagos or Nigeria constitution . what Lagos government is doing is misuse or abuse of power and since you have that slave mentality of accepting bully as a normal thing u won't see anything wrong

The fact that other people are breaking the law doesn't mean you too have to break the law.

You don't have to steal or rape because other people are doing the same thing.

Just obey the law as a good citizen.

I don’t really understand the hostility towards DJ Switch from the general public even without this matter

I’ve seen the lawlessness of people when driving in Lagos and it is out of this world. Auctioning sounds harsh but perhaps it’s the only way to get people to listen? Especially when lives are at stake. But then the fact that these rules are coming from such a corrupt, criminal government is both annoying and humorous at the same time, I don’t know o maybe it’s one of those things I shouldn’t put mouth for since I’m technically an outsider

Nigerian security forces kill 18 during curfew enforcement

At least 18 people in Nigeria have been killed by security forces during the enforcement of measures to curb the spread of COVID-19, a figure higher than the documented toll inflicted by the disease, the country’s human rights body said.

In a report released late on Wednesday, the National Human Rights Commission said it had received and documented “105 complaints of incidents of human rights violations perpetuated by security forces” in 24 of Nigeria‘s 36 states and Abuja, the capital.

Of these complaints, “there were eight documented incidents of extrajudicial killings leading to 18 deaths”, it said
