I guess the flogging aspect was part of the game to gets her attention, flogging a student for coming late to Geography class is absolutely unnecessary.

I hope many of us will learn something from this. That is, the teacher never take his time to find out why the student was always coming late. Many of us are guilty of this, at work, at school, in our business.
