Nigeria Break-Up Could Lead To The Extinction Of The Igbo Race!

Igbos keep saying ''let everybody go his own way''.

But if that happens, Igbos will suffer the most.

There are millions of Igbo people living all over Nigeria.

They will be deported back to Igboland en masse in the event of a breakup.

Can Igboland handle 20 million angry, hungry Igbo returnees with lost businesses and sources of income?

How will you employ them?

How will you house them?

How will you feed them?

How will you educate them?

How will the Igbo states, currently reliant on monthly federal allocation from Abuja, replace that income, since no more oil money? (The Niger Delta would not be part of 'Biafra' of course)

So what will they do for money?

Sell coal?

Nobody wants any gaddemn coal or palm oil in today's world.

Igbo industrialists, manufacturers, businessmen, and traders are dependent on access to the Nigerian market - Africa's biggest by a long shot - for their continued progress and expansion.

A breakup of Nigeria destroys that access, as whatever nation(s) takes its place will raise protectionist measures to build up their own industries.

I just don't see how this ends well for the Igbo people.

I fear a break-up of Nigeria could lead to the extinction of the Igbo race!

Hahaha, this dude is becoming increasingly paranoid as the signs of Nigeria's breakup become very clear. Just look at the rubbish he wrote here and I wonder who he thinks he can decieve with this trash. Now, let me enlighten you as I counter each ridiculous point you made grin grin

1. Igbos are not just all over Nigeria, we are all over the world. Now, what will happen when Nigeria eventually breaks up is that many will return home while those that can't cope with the competition in the East will find themselves moving to other African countries. And boy, are Igbos capable of overcoming the initial challenge? Yes! Even in 1966 when there were relatively more Igbos in the North percentage wise, we would have been able to easily absorb them if not for the blockade. Are you saying there are up to 20 million Igbos in the North? That's obviously not true except you mean we constitute 20% of your total population. Again, when you say North, you are lumping together the middle belt which is quite funny because the middle belt states like Benue, Plateau, and Taraba would rather chase you fulani terrorists away than chase Igbo developers away grin grin

How to educate, feed, house or employ them? Don't worry. Definitely more schools would be built to accommodate them. More demand will equal to more supply and you can't argue we don't have enough money bags to invest in education. People like that man that built a private university in Kaduna only for his students to be kidnapped will gladly build them in Biafra under a conducive environment! Same applies to housing. Even though slums may start appearing in our cities in the interim, but I will bet you that the demand for housing will lead to a construction boom! Millions of our diaspora population and rich people in Igboland will gladly build more houses! About food, is Nigeria feeding Igbos for free? Don't we buy the food with our money? Or you think we will starve if you don't bring some of the food we buy from North? We will simply buy elsewhere and you guys in the North will sink deeper into poverty since your food will perish with no buyers tongue tongue

Did you say we rely on Abuja for allocations and we won't have oil money? You're ignorant! There are enough oil and gas deposits in Igboland to give us far more revenue than the peanuts we get from FG. Mind you, all the hydrocarbon deposits in Igboland within SE and SS will now be under the government even though the provinces or states will be in control and pay tax to the government. Again, are you aware that remmitances is already rivaling proceeds from crude oil exports? Which people constitute the bulk of the diaspora population? Is it not Igbos?

Did you say Igbo industrialists depend on Nigeria market? You forgot that once Nigeria breaks up the market also breaks up and we will experience more influx of people. You forgot you already claimed 20 million Igbos will return? That's the market! So, while you lose your market share, ours will book! However, don't forget that ECOWAS and now Aftcta has removed all barriers to inter-African trade. This means that we can still produce in Aba, Onitsha or Nnewi and still sell in Cameroun, Ghana, Senegal and even in YOUR AREWA grin grin grin

In summary, a break up of Nigeria will never lead to the extinction of Igbos, rather on the contrary, it will make us to blossom and soar to high heavens above the mediocrity Nigeria entrenches.

Don't cry for us my brother, instead cry for your Arewa that will definitely be the world's worst country in many indices cheesy cheesy cheesy

I'm actually Igbo.

Tufia!

I very much doubt it! However, the likes of Igbokwe have shown me they’re actually some who may have Igbo blood running in their veins yet are full of hatred and malice towards the Igbo race...either due to being born and brought up in the north or west, or simply out of pure greed!

You were not entitled to a DIME after you LOST THE WAR.

You arrogant, demented narcissist.

You are even ALIVE today because of Gowon's 'No Victor, No Vanquished' policy which stopped federal soldiers from going in to finish the job after you surrendered.

And you're talking of money?

Do you know anything about warfare?

Do you think it is the job of the winner to give money to the loser after the conflict?

You don't know you're even lucky to retain control of your cities and towns after losing a war in which you surrendered?

Look, Mr Man, don't annoy me this morning.

Go and study the history of warfare.

When you lose a war, you lose EVERYTHING.

Gowon's magnanimity was an aberration that shocked the entire world.

Be thankful.

And after Gowon and other clowns that ruled Nigeria to date , how far ?
Hold on we are coming.
We will buy your father's grave side and develop it.
We are coming.

It will set Igbos back forever.

In terms of sheer economics, secession is a suicidal move for Igbos.

Look at Air Peace. Chief Allen Onyema.

Simply by operating a fleet of aircraft WITHIN NIGERIAN AIRSPACE, he became the biggest airline in West Africa.

Now, based on those profits, he's expanding to New York, London, Dubai, Jamaica etc.

He's competing with Ethiopian Airlines for African dominance.

Could he have done this if he was a guy from Sierra Leone?

Or Congo?

Impossible. Where is the market in Sierra Leone or Congo to support such a heavy airline investment?

Even in Ghana. He couldn't. Those ones that only have one serious airport in the entire country.

Being NIGERIAN is a blessing for Igbos, Africa's most industrious ethnicity, with free access to the MARKET of NIGERIA, a country projected to become the 3rd most populous on Earth after India and China by 2050.

I mean, you're basically sitting on a goldmine here.

Igbos could easily become the richest ethnic group in Africa by being part of the Nigerian family.

INNOSON?

Without Nigeria, how can INNOSON grow to the next level?

Who will patronise them to reach that level? WHY?

Only NIGERIANS have a reason to buy INNOSON vehicles, today.

Without the Nigerian market, INNOSON might as well pack up and close shop.

I guarantee you right now, if you walk into the INNOSON CEO, Chief Innocent Chukwuma's office in Nnewi, and suggest the break-up of Nigeria, he will chase you out of his office.

You are not intelligent.. The Ethiopian airline u mentioned is thr market as huge ad Nigerian market how come they lead... Is british airways market as huge as Nigerian Market..

U re so dull..

If you want to see how broken Nigeria would be let's first start with regional system of government

One of the important component of this break up is seat of power, then IGR, and allocation sharing

*Will Anambra State agree with Enugu State, to be the Seat of Power of Eastern region?!

*Will Anambra that makes the highest Internally Generated revenue in the 5 eastern State, agree to share the revenue with economically no viable state like Ebonyi

*Will Imo State and Abia State give up their financial autonomy they enjoy as an independent state collecting allocation and spending it as they like agree to new arrangement of going to central government in Enugu FCT to get project funding and approval

.

this argument doesn't hold water. take a look at the western state who recently are clamouring for Oduduwa Rep. will lagos agree to share with Ekiti?

look at Nigeria, are a the state viable like lagos, Kaduna, rivers and akwa ibom?

do a bit of digging, some countries don't even have half of what the east have and they still survive better than even Nigeria.

it just about knowing ur SWOT with a good economics of scale it's a go.

the break-up go affect every region.

There are millions of Igbo people living all over Nigeria. Also oversea

They will be deported back to Igboland en masse in the event of a breakup. not an issue they will be accommodated

Can Igboland handle 20 million angry, hungry Igbo returnees with lost businesses and sources of income? sorry some will sell off their business and who tell you they are hungry most are doing well financially.that's the entrepreneurial success

How will you employ them? No more federal character Bro ( Biafra Army,Navy,Airforce,Road safety,Civil defence,Custom,Fire service etc)

How will you house them? no take para for someone headache. during Osu Abiola etc most returned and where accomodated

How will you feed them? most are successful in their entrepreneurial and food bank without Federal character

How will you educate them?entrepreneurial success

How will the Igbo states, currently reliant on monthly federal allocation from Abuja, replace that income, since no more oil money? (The Niger Delta would not be part of 'Biafra' of course) All can survive without oil money. note Imo, Abia and now Anambra has oil

So what will they do for money? stupid question. have you ask yourself why Hausa hate Igbo its because of entrepreneurial success. that is what they will do for money

Sell coal? just one igbo man can start activated charcoal company and make it a brand, Biafra Charcoal etc metallurgical and chemical purposes

Nobody wants any gaddemn coal or palm oil in today's world. are you for real?

Igbo industrialists, manufacturers, businessmen, and traders are dependent on access to the Nigerian market - Africa's biggest by a long shot - for their continued progress and expansion. don't worry its better they sell oversea and earn in dollar the world is a global village and Igbo man see the world as his village

Why not worry about ur waste land? Every reasonable person knows the region that will suffer the most when nigeria is no more. Igbos will definitely not find it easy at the initial stage of the breakup cause nothing good comes easy but will surely overcome all challenges at the end of the day. Igboland is blessed with a lot of natural resources like gas and oil even palm oil which the op knows nothing about is currently more expensive than crude oil. Igbos are one of the most endowed ethnic groups in the world which is a great asset if properly utilized cause every nation is judged according to the quality of human resources that is available to it.

Don't cry for the Igbo. You can lend your voice to quicken the process , then watch the Igbo will survive. Why do non Igbo worry more about what happens to the Igbo after breakup than what happens to them?

He's not worrying about the wellbeing of Igbo people in a Post-Nigeria, he's trying to use fear as a reason why Nigeria should remain intact. Every ethnic group in Nigeria would do just fine without Nigeria. Yes, there are some benefits to Nigeria remaining one, but as of right now, they are far outweighed by the disadvantages, which are growing by the day.
