This my guy needs to be enlightened. Cut-off mark is based on the number of students that apply from each state. Because Igbos did not go to school for several decades, however over the last one decade Igbos have started going to school, this is commendable. However, because many Igbos are now going to school, the cut-off marks for the states are very high, this has no relationship to how brilliant Igbos are but the population of Igbos that are applying to go to Unity Schools.

On the contrary, Hausa/Fulani are still not going to school, children born by the road side do not think of school, instead they are rbought up to beg. So the number of students from each Hausa/Fulani state going to school is very negligible, that is why the cut-off mark is almost zero.

Conclusively, Yorubas have been schooling for long and Yorubas are still schooling, so cut-off mark for Yoruba states will continue to be high, but may overtaken by states that are applying more.

Open your heart and see clearly that this post of mine is not meant to put any tribe down. If however, I want to pull any tribe down, it will not be a fellow Southern tribe, but the blood suckers from the Sahara desert.

If you are 1 million applying for a post and I need just 5 people, the cut off mark will be the 5th highest mark.
If the exam is over 100, and 5th highest mark among 1 million of you is just 5/100, the cut off mark will be 5.

If another group have just 20 applicants and have still 5 slots.
But the 5th highest score among them is 70/100, the cut off mark will be 70.

So you see, the cut off mark has little to do with population of applicants, but the value of the score scored by the applicants.

Notice that the best 2 highest scores in the exam were made by Igbos too.
