lexy2014: I do not expect you to recognize that I have answered your questions. These things are way beyond you. You have allowed hate for Buhari to becloud your reasoning. If you care, do your research on government's earnings from non-oil sectors in the last 15 - 20 years to figure out things for yourself. Make I leave you...you obviously do not have what to say. 1 Like 1 Share |

CoolAmbience: Where is ur comparative analysis of d buhari administration with all other Nigerian govts since 1960? Since u did ur research, answering my questions shouldn't be a challenge for u: Is this what u call a comparative analysis based on ur conclusion that "There has been no single President better than Buhari since independence"? I don't see any indices in what u wrote. In ur number 3 point for instance, what are d figures? What's d reality on ground? What's d living standard of Nigerians since 2015 compared to before 2015? How has d economy been diversified? What has it been diversified to? how much revenue came in since 2015, how was it utilised that made u say "prudent management of economy"? You have to take every aspect of governance since 1960 (taking into cognisance section 14 (2b) of d constitution), compare every administration since 1960 and mirror against d buhari administration using every single aspect of governance as indices. |

lexy2014: Do your own research. Stop being lazy. How long ago was the Itakpe-Warri Railway started? How long ago was the 2nd Niger Bridge conceived? Why do pensioners now receive better attention than before? Why has nothing been done to solve the notorious traffic gridlock on Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, such as constructing a railway line until now? How is Nigeria surviving despite about 60% drop in oil revenue, when it is supposed to have shut down completely? Who will believe that we will have locally grown rice flood markets across Nigeria? 1 Like 1 Share |

calcal: This infrastructure is paining you guys this much, I don't believe it. You will now travel abroad and be snapping pictures on similar infrastructure to diss Nigeria. Now there's one reason less to diss Nigeria, and some people are so angry. You now have to search harder to find things we don't have at home. Buhari is a bad man to make you have to search farther. So industries will rush to establish where there's no infrastructure? What sort of sick comedy is this? |

stanluiz: How do you become a producing nation without infrastructure to power your machines and transport your goods. You people are just punching at the wind. All these nonsense will not stop investment in critical infrastructure. Yet even your useless leaders never invested in the education and SME when they held power and earned humongous sums |

Zenithpeak: Another nonsense, borrow money to make the economy stable and strong, how? By putting the money on display at a museum? So industries would locate in a place without roads and power? Doubt you know what infrastructure means. Are you sure we're not under a zombie attack? |

Ovamboland: After the pandemic in US, why didnt the government build more infrastructure to revive the economy? Why were they paying citizens and business owners? What did Nigerians get with the infrastructure? |
Re: If Not Infrastructure, Then What - Femi Adesina by Ovamboland(m): 10:03pm On Aug 13, 2021 |
aribisala0: The answer to that is to increase revenue collection since we still have a huge scope of uncollected revenue with our collection ratio at 6% while Ghana is doing 16% hence with tiny GDP, have up to half of our budget to invest. We should not be in the category of arguing over $10-15bn projects but $50-100bn, but you are still arguing over tiny amount while Egypt and South Africa our immediate African competition are doing $30-50bn projects The way out must not be and can never be to stop investing. Better to tie up a good chunk of our future earnings to useful infrastructure than keep it intact for some future crook to come and steal it. The way you people are going it's like you prefer a crook running the country. After all integrity doesn't pay bills not so? |

Ovamboland: The Bible says: Cast not your Pearl to the SWINES for after they've casted it to mud, they will turn around and rent you. It is an effort in futility to engage an unintelligent and uncivilized zombie like you in any form argument.... It can only lead to decapitation of one's integrity. Imagine a dirty destitute and a scavenger like you gallivanting all over Nairaland calling people names all over the place. Errant zombie..... |

Ovamboland:Who are you people To listen to you one would think you love Nigeria more than anyone or that infrastructure is a new religion The point is a simple one spending must be balanced and "infrastructure" must have a point the fact that you spend $10 billion on concrete and steel does not mean it is the right infrastructure . Not all projects are sensible If it was that easy to raise revenue why has it not happened Did anyone suggest stopping investing? There is a different between waste and investment a lot of money was wasted in Abuja by IBB if that was an investment where are the returns The big elephant in the room is WHERE IS THE POWER?? That is the number one priority not rail to Niger republic Or an Army University in Borno Is there any government that has said " we don't believe in infrastructure" ? So why now make it a religion The truth is the impact is not felt and the contracts appear bogus and inflated What one infrastructure project of this government has made the most impact in our lives Previous governments built Ikeja Airport, Kainji Dam , Egbin Thermal Plant and the 1st Niger bridge , Lagos Ibadan Expressway What one project can this government boast of? Just one? |
