zexy2030:someone made this comment in an earlier thread one dude went out to engage on this menial job and the guy said he now uses his brains to survive, I think it was u. honestly you're so right. I had to learn digital skills, develop myself with writing and research and made use of my intellect to survive. At least when I'm hungry and out of funds I can contact my clients and write articles for them and get paid, the remuneration is even more better than this cheap labour and stress free 5 Likes |

I have done this before. That we used to collect 500 per day. From 500 it was increased to 8pp.. later it get upto 1000 before I left the work I was paid 2000. Mind you to before a bricklayer can get his day pay he must have mixed 2bags or more depending if is bricklaying.. plastering 4bags. And day pay is 2k. Now back to what you are saying I believe is casting they told you of, casting is not more than 500.because if you are hard working you can cast more than 10bags before the work finish that day. I believe you didnt hear the person very well. If you are doing casting calculate 100 bags or 200 bags that work will take you mean casting should cost over 300k its not true sir. Sorry sha that your expectations was cut low it's your first experience 1 Like |

I can perfectly relate with all you’re going through.. the truth is an average man from an average home can relate with this ( atleast 80%).. Stop waiting for help or trying to garner sympathy ., Replace hard work with smart work, stop fooling yourself!!!!,, I’ve worked as a farmer, we would transport ugwu from ijebu itele to ikorodu, later I moved to tomato farm, we would take that one down to miles 12, then I moved to pineable, we go carry that one to Ijebu ode, later I move to poultry, later I did teaching job , worked at local pharmaceutical company , worked for coke as sales boy ( big supplier ), airtel motor boy , Lg show room( that time wey LG Dey sell Mobile gas, we go carry am go oshogbo, I go dance tire on top bus ), worked as a security at hospital ( I held 7 posts here, I go on gen, cutgrass, pump water, wash doctors motor on top 22k salary wey I go spend 8k for transport ), worked as a computer operator, and I no fit count numbers of time I do labor work self, there was a day we were casting concrete, the carpenter did not bind the plank well, we were almost finished around 4 pm naso the whole pillar open and the concrete went down, I cried that day cos I no go get paid without us completing the work ( the engineer wicked ehn), I left site after 8 at night ,, Mind you, I did most of these while I was still school o. From abk I go go to Lagos , there’s a particular school at Johnson bus stop in surulere/aguda I don forget the area, we follow cast all the pillar Baba nobody told me before I started using my number 6, I’ve been a husler from day one I started crypto vendor , and nairaland has been a blessing to me 19 Likes |

OP I can relate with your story because son of man has been there before. Back in the days cement finish both hands and leg with sour and part of the skin will be torn off. Then, I use to prefer filling because it pays better like 12 tires will be given for 7K to 8K depend on the Engr. I thank God for his mercy and grace that abounds. My advice, to you, is to keep at least you'll have change to sort out one or two at the same increase your search for a job while trusting God to pave the way. 1 Like |

azraeljaheel: Same thing we are saying. How will engineer be giving u permission to be snapping bag of cement and sand when u are supposed to be working? And look how neat your feet are after carrying cement and mixing cement. Meanwhile, na only one of bag of cement na im make the client hire engineer? |

azraeljaheel: Story don de change. From engineer to chief engineer and now bricklayer. So you didn't know the difference between engineer and bricklayer? You just came on site to work, beg for work and then they allow to snap pictures instead of working. Like I asked, is it one bag of cement that made the client hire engineer? |

Goodfellow21: I am lexy. who are you? can u show me where i said it is a crime for him to snap where he go work? huh? so how did u come to the conclusion that if i question buhari, nigeria will become better? if you knew that asking buhari questions would automatically make nigeria better, why havent you done so since 2015? so you mean that you had the solution to nigerias problems and you just kept it to yourself and did nothing about it? thats very selfish of you oga. if you had done the needful, maybe this gentleman wouldnt be looking for menial labour to do. Pls, where did the "young man" fall that he needs to "rise again"? meanwhile, how does asking him the questions i asked him prevent him "rising again"? |
