I am not a loan agent. If you know you can't abide by the payment agreement and you wouldn't pay at the appointed time, simply do not patronise these loan apps. It's that simple. Grown Nigerians need to learn how to hold themselves accountable for their choices and stop their sense of entitlement.

What do you expect when you can't pay back? To receive a pat on the back and get polite and gentle reminders of your outstanding payment? Lori iro! If it is like that, things for spoil for them. If they didn't harass the op, he wouldn't have hastened up to borrow 3k to pay them back. Before you fault loan sharks, first rid yourself of any fault (by paying them back as agreed).

Money doesn't grow on trees and with the amount of scammers out there who are willing to run away with loans, it is imperative that these loan apps make things hot for defaulters. Put yourself in the shoes of the these loan apps; what if you were in charge of these loan apps and op was doing you like this?

My friend was clever about this, He bought a different sim card, fixed in a lot of contact he didn't know, saved the numbers like they were his friends, boss and workers nuumbers.....

Used one of his cousin account number, who was late, they so much looked alike, and borrowed up to 200k with 50k interest after telling them that he worked as a constructor....

I got a loan of 3k from them on October 21. I was supposed to repay back with #3700 on 28th of October but I couldn't due to insolvency. After 3 days of being overdue, Easy Money started sending blackmailing messages to my contacts, telling them that I am a criminal and a thief with all sort of unestablished claims.
Because of the embarrassing messages being sent to my contacts, a family member help me with some fund to clear the debt, I transferred #3000 to Easy Money
Their agent called me and threaten that he will not clear me and that he will keep sending those messages to my contacts after I told him I will not pay the interest on the loan
It was after that I start receiving another form of threat from this agent

you shouldn't have paid since they already sent blackmailing messages to your contact, thesame happened to me, they threatened me, and I told them not to forget ask the contact to pay them, they went ahead and sent the blackmail, letter they called me begging me to pay, I told them I won't pay because they've blackmail me, or else they start sending another mail to all my contacts apologizing, we then bargain, they removed all the interest, and gave me 30% discount off. At this time I paid. They are the ones forcing Nigerian to collect loans having known things are hard, and thier interest na disaster, some even charge as much as 45% interest. If you are on Facebook and you use Android phone, you will understand how these online loan will be disturbing you to collect thier fraudulent loans

There's a law called Data Protection Regulation of 2019. If any company or App or website is to access your contacts, they must state it clearly where you can see it. Merely writing terms and conditions is not the same with a Privacy Policy.

The terms and conditions are for your perusal, you agreed to it after downloading the apps and you agreed to your contacts synced with there platform. It's well stated the charges/intrest rate and for prolonging to pay the debt you know automatically it attracts extra charges.
It will be of interest and for peace of mind to clear ur debt plus interest accured.
Rather than borrowing money from loan app/loan sharks, speak with your trusted friends or colleague to borrow you money. This kind of attitude of your to be honest is killing business and taking food off people's mouth.

There are many banks that are given loans to people, if a particular company didn't work for him, he should look for another. Just the same thing when you are pricing a chicken and your money is not enough to the the bigger one you needed then you got no other choice than opt for a cheaper one (the same thing with interest in a loan). Loan apps failed on their own way by evading people privacy through their app but that's only way to deal with a typical cronic Nigerian debtor. You want it sharp sharp! Be ready to pay higher interest just like when you borrow credit from MTN or Airtel and moreover why is it that people don't complain about borrowing airtime from mtn.

which bank do you expect him to get 3000 loan from? Someone who needs to borrow 3k must be very broke, adding illegally high interest rates on top the capital is unspeakable evil. Many of these people who are chronic debtors are so because most times the interest rates are so high they have to borrow Peter to pay Paul, in the end they become tangled. I believe most of you supporting this are lenders too charging exceptionally high and wicked rates. don't be a sissy, there are laws regulating interest rates, let the loan apps follow the laws is what I'm saying. According to the law, no lender can prosecute until after 1 year of oweing, interest rate is maximum of 48% per annum which is 4% monthly. If you are not also another wicked lender then I am sure you will not be supporting this. People no longer invest in business in Nigeria, they loan their money out to receive interest as high as 25% monthly plus capital. That is unspeakable evil of man to another man and if you cannot see it then it is because you yourself are part of this grave wickedness to humanity.

Were they contacted when such fund was to be given? If the answer is no, why should they be contacted except if they are his guarantor. If I received such message, I might take it up with them.
