[Go to Germany,if u have a younger brother or cousins send him to Dubai to help ur frien,or pick one of this guys here on Nairaland begging you to change their life by giving them the Dubai job as u plan on leaving for Germany.

In other words, just ensure u find a good, loyal, perfect replacement for that ur friend,he has tried for you very well.He is a true friend indeed.

quotepactValue post=107922630]Greetings, good people of Nairaland

Please I need a piece of honest advice from experienced nairalanders, I am a Software Engineer, I got an offer from a very close friend (He is like a brother to me) of mine that resides in Dubai to come and manage a club he co-owns to enable him time for other activities. I will need to learn how nightclubs operate since I have little or zero knowledge about the nightlife. I have the freedom to pick up side gigs (or remote work) when I can and He is not in any way restricting me but he needs me to learn the business with him.

The plan, in a simple language, when I learn the business well enough he will pull out and open his own so I can be his manager since he doesn't want recognition.

He paid for my flight ticket and was the one that processed the visa for me (tourism) and he is currently working on how my visa can be extended and my work permit too.

Before I came to Dubai, I applied for this opening with a tech firm in Berlin. I completed the last stage here in Dubai and have been sent the offer but I will have to relocate to Germany because the work is on-site, the company bare expenses regards flight ticket, travel insurance, visa process et al. The start salary is 56K euros per annum (gross).

Also, I resigned from a bank as a development specialist (full-time staff not yet confirmed though, was earning 450K naira net with other benefits) prior to my trip to Dubai. I was doing well in Nigeria because I earned a total of up to 800K (with all my works combined) just that the work ethic (the bank work) is toxic to me because you will work your brain out debugging code, plus I am looking at a good place that I can start a family when I am ready and Nigeria is a no for me unless I have enough money to send my kid abroad to study.

What do I do now that I am already in Dubai? I am passionate about tech and I love the echo system. Please any input from experienced fellows will go a long way for me.

Thanks in advance. Mod please help so I can get as much input as possible

Hallo!
I will try to say this in a very clear and simple manner.

Accept the job offer in Germany.
Reasons: If you move to Germany, you will get at least a 2 year Arbeit vertrag ( job contract). If you can extend the job contact to at least 3 years, then you will be qualified to apply for the EU Blue card( Permanent residence). At this stage, you can start a family, and enjoying the privileges of a German system.
In addition, you will be qualified for a German passport when you have remained in the country for at least 5 years. Career-wise, you would have developed to a very senior position, which will unlock more opportunities for you.

In summary, If you take the German route, you will possible obtain a passport in less than 6 years and a PR in less than 3 years.
Please take my advice.
Goodluck!

Get outta there, pack your load and head straight to Germany for your destiny path. He can still edge u aside to retake the Dubai club. And your course field is full of massive potential. Learn German Language gradually too. There is democracy, and it is a tech country. Everyone must take their fate into their own hands, while we seek God's blessing and protection.

During the covid pandemic in 2020, UAE laid off tens of thousands of foreign workers, hence sending them packing. Always aim for job security, which you will get in abundance at Germany

This story doesn’t add up, if you earn 800k per month, a sponsored trip via tourism visa to Dubai isn’t worth it going by how much you earn.

Is the company in Germany?

This is german law.

There is a law of employment in Germany that all companies must strictly obey. They must not employ any third country nationalities unless they can proof to the foreign office that they were unable to find a suitable employee from Germany or EU

I know the the Law.

Germany hires a lot of people out of their country. This type of employment is very very very common in tech.

Don't argue with what you don't know.

I am curious, since you earn 800K in Nigeria, why did the Dubai option come in? Anyone who earns N800K as a permanent staff in a firm in Nigeria has relevant skills that can get the person better options abroad than a tourist visa instead of a working one.

Nigerians and this senseless one-way thinking and mentality...? Very greedy and will never think they have enough.

1) You earn up to 800k and you still think that you're poor.

2) You don't think you have enough money to raise a family? That's not even a problem. THE MAJOR PROBLEM IS YOU WANTING TO SEND YOUR CHILDREN ABROAD TO STUDY. THIS IS VERY DISTURBING...
Did your parents send you abroad before you be were able to develop yourself up to this stage?

I don't know what essence and joy there again to give birth to children you can't grow with.

A very odd thought process you have there. So, parents should not provide better options for their children than their parents did? What if OP's parents never went to school, according to your thought process, they should not have sent him to school?

How is it disturbing to aspire in sending one's children to the best schools (all of which are located in developed countries)?

Honestly, it is your thought process that is disturbing if not, what is wrong with a parent who graduated from a state university aspiring to send his child to a private university?

That law has been changed even before Corona emerged and tech workers (since the skill is universal) are the biggest beneficiaries. In fact, the new German government aims to copy the Canadian model in attracting skilled workers: https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.express.co.uk/news/world/1507358/germany-news-immigration-points-system-skilled-migrants-update/amp

Bro he can actually get rich with 56k per annum if he can save. I have a wife and a kid and I earn less than that here in UK. I know how much I have as saving at the end of the year. This guy he's single and he has no reason not to save at least 15k yearly.
that 56k na before tax o! Now tell me how you will safe 15k yearly? Maybe you will be living under bridge, here in Germany if you are a single person your tax class is the highest.

Yes, the the point system is an idea but what you stated earlier is wrong as employers can employ someone from outside the EEA/EU without showing the evidence of no suitable applicant from within the region as it's done in Switzerland.

I will urge you to go for the Germany offer Brother, because it has clear prospect for career integration and better life. Compared to Dubai-UAE where everything is tied to work permit... I've been in Dubai here for 4years but not too cool but we thank God.

And if peradventure you need a reliable person with UAE experience, I am wholeheartedly available bro coz I have a freelance visa. May God help and direct your path bro.
