That means the banking system of that country is worst than Nigeria.

Most people on this faceless forum are braggarts. Other nationalities do visit this forum but you are obviously a Nigerian.

No other country’s banking system is worst than that of the poverty capital of the world that tells its citizens/customers to call on their powerless god when their banking system and financial policies fail.

Also, never said I was a foreigner, just simply asked “hope you know not only Nigerians visit this website?”

Any bank that tempers or operates any customer account without his consent is not following due process wether Oyibo or not.
I see you have a problem with god.

And y did u asked "hope you know not only Nigerians visit this website"? What was your aim?

Problem with god?? To have a problem with something, you must first acknowledge that it exist, and for me, there is no god. If you believe there is one, then we can both agree that he is doing a very poor job looking at the current state of the world.

The reason I asked that question is to remind you that there are foreigners here as well as Nigerians not currently living in Nigeria, hence you should not commit the fallacy of hasty generalization.

This country is a big joke and religion has done it's worse also. How could a trained bank official utter such disgusting and unprofessional statement to a customer?

If the U.S. had relied on prayer and not create FBI, Hushspuppi and other fraudsters would still be living large by now as free individuals.

This country is shit!

So what could they have done differently?
To help arrest the guy or what? Someone made error and reported to the bank. The bank placed a lien, what else?
If they tried reaching the guy via phone and it’s not going through, there is nothing unprofessional about asking him to pray over it. It’s just an honest feedback.

Yeah I understand your point. After waiting for like 2weeks, I contacted the bank again to send a message to the account officer of the guy to persuade him to come to the bank. Up till now nothing.

U don't expect d bank to just debit someone else acc just because u made an erroneous transfer. The best they can do is lien d acc and contact the customer. I have been I this situation and that what d bank did for me. U lucky it's an internal transfer sef.
Bro, if it were to be my ex, haba I won't bother myself. It's the married men that will understand. My wife was in labour and if you see the way she was shouting even before we got to the hospital. O boy, I was scared at a point. It was during the shouting and crying the Dr asked me to deposit 30k which I did. The Dr called me and said he didn't see it. I was like is something wrong with you ni? Money that I have been debited for. I now forwarded the debit slip to him. That's where we discovered the error. It's more than a month now still nothing. Thanks bro

quote author=DrChukki post=109940996]What they told you is exactly what you should do.

How sure are we that it's truly an error?

Do we know if it's your gf but you broke up with her and want your money back? grin

My dear go and pray... grin
Thank you, this is exactly what I told the guy at the bank. I even suggested they can arrange a meeting between me and the person involved. I said, I don't mind any state the guy is I will meet him in the bank. Nothing was done. It's more than a month now.

What happens to bank calling the customer to explain to him what happened? Wouldn't that make things faster.
Re: Bank Official Asked Me To Pray Over Erroneous Transfer. by Macolapablo: 8:41pm On Feb 16, 2022
You're even lucky you have the person's number. I don't have any of the person contact. I don't know him either. So I can't even reach him. I told the bank to give me the guys number they refused. I understand that.

quote author=JustPowerApps post=109941309]It happened here too last month, 3rd of January. Someone tried swindle me for a tshirt delivery. I reached out to my bank to dispute my transfer to the person's account and not only did they block the account I transferred to, they removed the money from the recipient account cause I got a call from the guy begging me later. He claimed his account have been blocked and my money returned.

That I should pls release my hold on the account since I already have my money back. Till date, the bank never returned the money back to my account.

The last call I had with their customer representative. She hung up on me. I visited their branch close to me like 5times and they keep saying it is under processing and will be returned soon. The money nah 7k and it didn't pain me but what if it was more than that what if it was 70, what if it was 700. That is how my money would have been lost without a trace.
Re: Bank Official Asked Me To Pray Over Erroneous Transfer. by Macolapablo: 8:49pm On Feb 16, 2022
I requested for the customers number but they refused giving it to me. I guess it's against their policy. Don't even know what to do again. I just tire

elo47:

The bank can't remove funds from the customer's account without their consent. Because that is a strong basis for a lawsuit. So ask for the customer's number and talk with him/her. That's the fastest way to resolve this.
Re: Bank Official Asked Me To Pray Over Erroneous Transfer. by Macolapablo: 8:55pm On Feb 16, 2022
They refused giving me the number. They said a message has been sent to his account officer. That's all. I don't know the person, I don't have any of his contacts not even on social media

My problem here is that I don't have the person's contact. Nothing to connect me with the person. I even asked for his number they decline.

quote author=Ashirioluwa post=109946481]You account will not be credited until they talk to the owner of the account to confirm or verify your claim. The bank will have to talk to the owner of the account before they can credit you back the cash.

The truth is that you won’t get the cash if they unable to talk to and verify from the owner of the account.

Bank cannot transfer money from a customer’s account without verification. They will ask him / her question about the transfer. You won’t get the money if he / she claims that he was actually expecting the cash transfer from you.
Bank will never give you its customers information because that will amount to breach of PRIVACY ACT. Your best bet is to write a detailed letter to the bank to help you contact the 3rd party concerning the wrongly transferred cash.

If he agrees that he wasn’t expecting cash from you then you can get your cash back.
