As for the second, if u have seen rose flower growing before, the thorns and all,
u will believe that some children can come from a dysfunctional home and still be okay in the society..

I agree with your first paragraph with you however kids are humans that deserve respect and dignity who should not be beaten anyhow in the name of discipline.

A child is not like a book, the child can always grow up and decide for him/herself and write a whole new chapter so it does not always stay because some of us have unlearned some of the things we learnt while growing up.Some children in dysfunctional or bad environments still turn out right who vice verse it is up to the child to carve their own part as parents we are to aid, guide and advice our children not live their lives for them or make choices for them the child will later on be able to tell right from wrong

Under the child rights act of 2003 which has not be ratified in many Northern states the age of consent is 18 if this lady is in a state that has adopted the child rights act she was statutorily raped and this is enough grounds to terminate a pregnancy what does a 17 year old in today's world know about parenting?that such a child will be burdened to become one at an age where she cannot feed herself..

This is highly messed up, Nigerian is a messed up society where women are not protected, this girl will likely bear the consequences alone and the rapist may not be held accountable.

you are right. Sadly, African parents had been brainwashed to see abortion as a free ticket to death or hell. Most African parents will never consider abortion even if 10 men gang rape their daughters and got them pregnant. Just few fraction of them are wiser and smart enough to see the importance of abortion. We Africans still have a long way to go truly

Better study the psychology of children beating does not work on every child sometimes what they see you do is enough to correct them, for others communication helps it depends on the kind of communication languages some children have some are auditory others are not.

The parenting of those days were no better because the kids still turned out bad and hid things from their parents that wasn't discipline but fear.Parenting is with love you are raising humans not animals that you must always abuse in the name of beating without correction.If the parents of old were so good we won't be so corrupt, hateful and bitter and lack basic human emotion/love or call it decency.
It was the older generation that thought us every known corruption and vices we have today despite all the beating, no ground breaking innovation or progress attributed to the Nigerian society.

You don't know the meaning of "woke" study it and don't make it look like a bad or terrible thing, you Nigerians should stop buying into racist conservative narrative that was designed to attack the true purpose of what "woke" means which is to be alert and aware of racial/social injustices in our society there is nothing wrong in being woke.
