Margaret Dery, the winner of Miss Ghana 2017 beauty pageant has resigned while stating that being Miss Ghana was one of the worst experiences of her life. The beauty queen, who was crowned 8 months ago, claims she sent the organizers an email informing them of her decision to step down. She also took to Twitter to confirm the news, writing: “Being a miss Ghana queen has honestly been one of the worst experiences of my life, yeah, I know it looks good on the outside, but it’s just one big sham on the inside. All that glitters is not gold. Ladies, you don’t need a crown on your head to succeed.” She also added: “Never be afraid to raise your voice for honesty, truth and compassion against injustice, lying and greed. No more will I cover up for anyone that doesn’t deserve it. The whole world will know the truth soon.” The organisers in a statement issued on Tuesday, July 31, said they got the news of Margret Dary’s resignation through the media although the 2017 winner had claimed that she sent the organisers an email. The organisers say they have “gladly accepted” the resignation of Margaret Dery. Fourteen members of the same family were killed in a car crash in central Vietnam Monday en route to a wedding party, including the groom who died instantly when their van hit a container truck, police said. Road accidents are the leading cause of death in Vietnam, where traffic laws are loosely obeyed and road infrastructure is patchy. The victims of Monday’s car crash in Quang Nam were members of an extended family, including the groom, who were heading to the bride’s family home in a neighbouring province, a police officer told AFP. Their 16-seater van collided with a container truck at around 2:30 am (1930 GMT Sunday), killing 13 people instantly. Another died later in hospital. All victims’ bodies were brought back to their home for burial. We are treating some of the injured in a local hospital,” the policeman said, requesting anonymity because he was not authorised to speak to the press. Local authorities said Monday they were investigating the cause of the deadly crash. PLEASE READ MORE>>>http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/07/oh-my-god-groom-13-others-die-in.html

The Lagos State Government says nine bodies from the Otedola Link Bridge fire incident which occurred on June 28 have been successfully matched to the families. The Commissioner for Health, Jide Idris, who confirmed the development, said that 11 families had shown up at Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre, LSD&FC, for testing and only nine families had been matched. “On July 5 2018, samples from the incident were picked up by LSD&FC staff from the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) Forensic Pathologist, under secured chain of custody,” said Mr Idris. “Reference DNA profiles were generated at LSD&FC from representative family members and compared to the DNA profiles generated from the victims’ samples received from the Forensic Pathologist. “Based on the DNA analysis performed at LSD&FC, all victim samples were successfully matched to relatives’ samples. Nine bodies have been successfully matched to nine families, out of the 11 families that showed up at LSD&FC. “They are now ready to be handed over to the rightful families for necessary burial arrangements.” He said collection of the remains would commence from 10.00am July 28 at the Seminar Room of the Pathology & Forensic Medicine Department of the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH), Ikeja. The commissioner said that this was the first time unidentified victims of a mass disaster had been successfully identified locally using DNA technology. He said that the identification process was completed in less than four weeks after the incident as against over six months when the practice was to take samples abroad for analysis. “I also wish to note that rigorous effort is made in ensuring that errors are reduced to the barest minimum in order not to compound the agony already being experienced by the bereaved families. “As a government, we share the concerns and anxiety of the affected families and associates on the identification and the need for prompt release of the remains of their loved ones. “However we believe that the thorough investigation which was conducted is in the best interest of all concerned. We wish to reiterate that the entire cost of management and treatment of the surviving victims and DNA forensics for the dead and their families was borne by the State Government,” Mr Idris added. He said that some of the victims of the accident are currently being treated at the Trauma & Burns Centre, Gbagada General Hospital and LASUTH and are responding to treatment. Ten patients were admitted at the state’s various hospitals, two died, three have been discharged and five are still on admission. For Nollywood actress and producer, Ify Adibeli, who would be 22 years old in September, life has been a roller-coaster ride of triumphs upon triumphs. Since hitting the screen at age 16 as Oge Okoye’s daughter in the film “Sound of War” there has been no stopping her as she has featured in many films and have produced almost ten films of her own. She’s living the life many of her peers only dream of and she’s savouring every moment, wallowing in the glitz and glamour that comes with it. But what she probably hasn’t bargained for is that life doesn’t offer anything without a price tag. This, seems to be what she’s finding out the hard way and is certainly ruffling her feathers. “I don’t care if people call me a biaatch. It’s just another word for feminist and I say it with pride,” she wrote on her Instagram page on Monday, clearly letting loose sweltering emotion confounding her mind. When Potpourri reached her, it was clear there was indeed smoke behind her fire and she explained as best as she could. “Nobody has really pissed me off. I’m just fed up with people who think nonsense of you just because your lifestyle has changed. They see every girl that is doing well in life and on Instagram as a runs girl. Just because of how classy you look, they tag you ‘small girl, big God’, which is what they call runs girls now. When they call you ‘small girl with big God’, they are actually calling you a runs girl. It makes me laugh each time I see that comment on people’s posts, she explained with a note of displeasure in her voice. “The word ‘biaatch’ means a whole lot of different things and it depends on who calls you that. My own definition of biaatch has different meanings. It is not the way others see it. Like I said on the post, to me, it is another word for ‘feminism’. I hate it when people call me ‘small girl, big God’. How can you ascribe such a dirty thing to God? It is not right. I’m working very hard for my money, they should allow me to enjoy it”, she added. Ify, who was once tagged ‘Nollywood’s hottest virgin’ is working on a new production billed for the cinemas. “I will start production after my birthday on September 25. However, my latest film produced by me “Bad Time” will be showing on DSTV soon,” she said. Exceptionally stunning Nollywood actress Adesua Etomi recently did a photo-shoot with Genevieve Magazine and has been releasing more photos from the shoot. Sharing this new photo on her IG page, she wrote; Peace. Serenity. In her interview, Adesua charms with her wit, intelligence, beauty, and talent as she shares her thoughts on married life, space travel and so much more. Read excerpts from her interview below: If you could, at this very moment, go anywhere – with no limits – where would you go and why?: I’d go to space. I’m very curious about the things that I can’t see and things I haven’t experienced. I know that there are many places on earth but I’m very curious about space and particularly envious of people that have been. They’ve experienced what most people have never – and will never – experience. Do you agree that if you share your private life with the rest of the world, it is no longer yours alone?: I don’t necessarily agree with that because it depends on what is consistently shared. People share what they are comfortable with and withhold what they’d rather keep private. I can see the rationale behind it, but I don’t think it’s so black and white. Sunny Ejiagwu, the All Progressives Congress chairman in Ideato North Local Government of Imo state, has been murdered by gunmen suspected to be assassins in the early hours of Friday. According to Punch Metro, Ejiagwu, popularly known as Ohaneze was one of the 27 LGAs chairmen inaugurated on Monday by the new state chairman, Daniel Nwafor, after the state APC rescheduled election as ordered by the court. The state commissioner of police, Dasuki Galandanchi, who confirmed the murder to our correspondent in a telephone conversation, said that the corpse had been evacuated to a nearby mortuary. According to the CP, the politician was killed along the Akokwa road in the Ideato North LGA . The CP said “the APC chairman in Ideato North has been murdered. I was at the scene of the crime and only came back. His corpse has been evacuated to a mortuary. There is no preliminary suspicion but the investigator would find out. The blood of the innocent would expose them.” Briefing newsmen at the state party secretariat, APC state chairman, Nwafor, said that the killing was condemnable. He said that political killings and violence has no place in a democracy. Nwafor said; “The killing is condemnable because APC preaches peace and political tolerance. People should practice politics without bitterness and violence. “The constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria guarantees freedom of association. “We, therefore, call on the Inspector General of police to press on the commissioner of police to nab the culprits. Imo is a peaceful state and an example of how politics should be played. “The deceased was in our meeting on Thursday and he expressed concern about political violence in his area. He told us that his area is volatile and called on us to come to his rescue when the need arises. “From the information made available to me, he was double-crossed and when he tried to move back he fell into the gutter. His killers went there and shot him severely. “ PLEASE READ MORE>>>http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/07/breaking-news-imo-apc-chairman-murdered.html

Senate President, Bukola Saraki seems not to be getting off the hook of controversy anytime soon as a team of detectives from the Nigeria Police on Thursday afternoon interrogated at his office in the National Assembly Complex. Saraki’s Special Assistant on New Media, Olu Onemola, made it known on his Twitter handle. He tweeted; “Further to the invitation to the Senate President, Dr Abubakar Bukola Saraki, by the Police on July 23, 2018, and his written response to them on July 24, 2018, on why he could not see them that day; today at about 1:40 pm, the Senate President met with a team of investigators on the Offa robbery case in his office. “Dr Saraki used the opportunity to reiterate the fact that he had nothing to do with either the robbery incident on April 5, 2018, or any other criminal activity.” The Inspector-General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, had on Monday invited Saraki to report to the Force Intelligence Response Team office at Guzape, Abuja, for interrogation over alleged links to the masterminds of the crime. The IG, in a letter dated July 23, asked Saraki to report to the police on Tuesday at 8am to provide further clarification on his relationship with the five leaders of the robbery gang who attacked banks in Offa, Kwara State. Saraki had on Tuesday written to the IG. The letter was leaked to journalists in Abuja on Thursday. In the letter, Saraki gave reasons why he could not honour the invitation on Tuesday, including an instruction by President Muhammadu Buhari that the police should send their personnel to him for questioning or take his defence in writing. He wrote; “You will recall that Mr President had earlier directed as a courtesy to this office, that in the event of any request for further information from me, you should either send your personnel to my office or obtain a written response from me. I need to place on record as well that following the incident of being harassed and threatened at my residence by the police early this morning, I am deeply concerned over my physical security.” PLEASE READ MORE>>>http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/07/another-day-another-trouble-for-saraki.html

The soldiers arrived the community with two gunboats with the inscription P376. The gunboats were stationed at the Jetty in Oporoza where they allegedly harassed and intimidated indigenes of the community. The soldiers reportedly towed the speedboats belonging to indigenes to undisclosed locations. The Fiyewei (spokesman) of Gbaramatu Kingdom, Chief Godspower Gbenekama, confirmed the report in a statement signed and made available to DAILY POST in Warri. He cried out over the purported harassment as well as intimidation of indigenes of the community by security operatives who are alleged to be men of the joint military task-force. According to him,”The JTF team stormed Oporoza, the headquarters of Gbaramatu Kingdom, early of hour of today and started intimidating community members who were asked to raise their hands in the air.” Gbenekama wondered why the mobilisation of armed security men to the traditional headquarters when the kingdom was not at war. He noted that the kingdom has been very peaceful especially with the kickoff of the Nigerian Maritime University at Okerenkoko. “It was just last week that the JTF Commander and all sectional commanders paid a courtesy call to the Palace of the Pere of Gbaramatu, HRM. Oboro Gbaraun, we had a fruitful meeting with all sides vowing to keep the peace in the area. I wonder why two gunboats (with the inscription P376) are now stationed in Oporoza Jetty to intimidate our people,” the community spokesman said. He appealed to the leadership of the JTF, Rear Admiral Apochi, to urgently wade into the matter to save community members who are yet to get over the bombardment of the kingdom from psychological trauma. The Ijaw Youth Coucil, IYC, has faulted the reason given by the Nigerian Air Force, NAF, for stopping the chartered flight conveying Southern leaders to the Middle Belt Conference from landing at its Makurdi Base. The youths said President Muhammadu Buhari was gradually turning the country to a police state. DAILY POST had reported that some members of the Southern and Middle Belt Forum led by President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Chief John Nwodo and Edwin Clark were on Monday denied flying to Benue from the Abuja airport. The President of the IYC, Pereotubo Oweilaimi, who spoke to reporters in Bayelsea concerning the matter, said Nigeria was sliding into full blown fascist state. According to him, “We fear that Mr. President is gradually turning the country into a police state where the will of the citizens will be subjected to his whims and caprices. “Nigeria is sliding into a full blown fascist state where dictatorship is the order of the day. “The news that prominent Southern leaders, who were going to Benue State to attend a meeting on restructuring were prevented from landing at Makurdi Airport by the Presidency on a flimsy reason of security issue is, to say the least, the height of insensitivity of the government towards its citizenry. This is a dictatorship in a civilian garb. “Indeed, it is now glaring to all and sundry that our democracy is under serious threat. For Buhari to allow his appointees to display such disdain towards our leaders in a country we are supposed to be free citizens means Nigerians are not safe under his government. “The action of the presidency in preventing the citizens of this country from moving freely only portends danger.” PLEASE READ MORE>>>http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/07/ijaw-youths-attack-buhari-for-stopping.html

Hassan Sherriff, the Sarkin Arewa of Bauchi State, has berated the leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for allegedly trying to woo former President, Olusegun Obasanjo back into the party. The PDP’s National Working Committee, NWC, led by the party’s National Chairman, Uche Secondus, had recently met with the former President. PDP reportedly begged Obasanjo for forgiveness. But speaking during a briefing in Bauchi, Sherriff said the move would relegate the party to the background. He noted that there was no sense in PDP begging the former President to return to the party as Obasanjo had publicly denounced the party by tearing his membership card. He said: “What is PDP National Working Committee looking for from Obasanjo, who only a few years ago threw the party into the dustbin by tearing his membership card? “I think this is the big question the entire membership of the PDP and its supporters ought to be asking themselves. “I have decided to quit the PDP after serving the party for over 10 years because of all these anomalies in the party. The deliberate delay of the passage of the 2018 budget by the National Assembly members for seven months put a cog on the wheels of national development.” PLEASE READ MORE>>>http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/07/2019-sheriff-faults-pdp-for-begging.html

The Peoples Democratic Party is currently panicking and mapping out strategies to make sure that it does not suffer defeat in the September 17 governorship election in Osun State as it did in Ekiti State on Saturday, The PUNCH has learnt. It was gathered that the members of the National Working Committee of the party would meet this week to review what happened in Ekiti State that made the party to lose the election to its main rival, the All Progressives Congress. It will be recalled that the Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday morning, declared the APC candidate, Dr Kayode Fayemi, as the winner of the election against the PDP candidate, Prof. Olusola Eleka. Though the PDP said it would contest the outcome of the election in court, our correspondent gathered that the party was already planning on how its outcome would not affect the Osun State governorship election. The party had planned to use the outcome of the Ekiti State governorship election as a stimulant for its desire to win the Osun State governorship election. A member of the Board of Trustees of the party, Chief Ebenezer Babatope, told our correspondent that the party was sad about the Ekiti loss, warning that its leadership needed to brace up so that such “calamity is not transferred to us in Osun State.” Babatope, who was a former minister of transportation, insisted that the Ekiti State governorship election was rigged, alleging that the PDP led the poll with more than 60,000 votes before the result was allegedly altered. But he said that the members of the PDP in Osun State would resist any plan to either manipulate the election or scare the electorate away from voting on the election day in the state. He said, “What happened in Ekiti State on Saturday was a tragedy. Both President Muhammadu Buhari and his party, the APC, will soon rig Nigeria out of existence if we are not careful. “But we are ready for them in Osun State. They said they would kill people to show us that they are in power. Let them come and kill us. We will not be afraid to die. “With what happened in Ekiti State, we now know that we should be prepared and be ready to fight with everything that God has given us. We will fight in Osun. “The PDP was leading the APC with more than 60,000 votes in Ekiti State before they started their rigging. We will not allow that in Osun State. It will fight to the finish in Osun State. Let them come and kill all of us.” In his reaction, the National Publicity Secretary of the PDP, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, said that there was no way the PDP would allow a repeat of what happened in Ekiti State to happen in Osun State on September 14. Though he refused to give details of the party’s preparation for the election, he nevertheless said that the party was getting prepared for the “all-important election in the state.” “What I can tell you is that we will never allow a repeat of what happened in Ekiti State to repeat itself in Osun State. We are more than ready for them. I can also assure you that we are going to regain our stolen mandate in Ekiti State as well,” Ologbondiyan said. A member of the House of Representatives in the state, Mr Oluwole Oke, also said that it would be dangerous for the polity if the PDP “is again rigged out in Osun State.” Oke, who is a delegate to the party’s primary on Saturday, said that turning the entire South-West into a one-party state would also be injurious to the ruling APC in the country. He said, “The result of the Ekiti State governorship election is a wakeup call to the PDP. It shows that we need to work harder to get Osun State on September 14. Taking all the states in the South-West by the PDP will even make the party explode. “At the end of the day, it will lead to political unrest and killings because of the scramble for positions. So, for political stability, they should not alienate the opposition in the zone.” Meanwhile, 3,439 delegates are expected to elect the governorship candidate of the party at Osogbo, the state capital on Saturday. According to a document obtained by our correspondent which was signed by the National Organising Secretary of the party, Col. Austin Akobundu (retd.), the delegates were made up of statutory and elected delegates. He said that an appeal committee that would adjudicate over complaint arising from the primary would sit in Abuja on Monday. It will be recalled that the national leadership of the party recently cleared 11 aspirants for its Saturday governorship primary. The aspirants are Sen. Akanbi Abdulrasheed, Dr Oyewumi Olalere, Mr Nathaniel Oke (SAN), Sen. Ogunwale Felix and Alhaji Fatai Akinbade. Others are Dr Ezekiel Adeniji, Dr Akin Ogunbiyi, Dr Ayoade Adewepo, Rafiu Bello, Sen. Nurudeen Adeleke and Prof. Adeolu Durotoye. Oke told our correspondent that a seven-man committee was working on the possibility of having a consensus candidate who he said would emerge before the primary. Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari on Monday confirmed that 44 lives were lost, while 20 people were missing in the overnight rainstorm that ravaged Katsina State border town of Jibia. The rainstorm was said to have started about 11 pm on Sunday and lasted over two hours. The governor, who made the disclosure at a press conference in Katsina, said he had never seen such a disaster in his life. He said, “You need to go there, it was a real disaster. As of the time we left Jibia, no less than 44 people were confirmed dead while over 500 houses were completely damaged. “I have informed the President about the incident and he has called to sympathise with the people. “As a government, we shall find permanent solutions to the problem. “We know Jibia is a flood-prone area and we build drainage. But what happened was that instead of water to flow to the river through the drainage, water from the river was flowing back into the drainage, thereby causing the flooding during the rainstorm. “We are going to redirect the water flow and I have passed out necessary instructions. “We have also taken measures to ameliorate the sufferings of the victims. “The National Emergency Management Agency has also been duly informed and they are sending relief materials to the victims.” The Executive Secretary, Katsina State Emergency Management Agency, Dr Aminu Waziri also speaking on the incident said, “What we are doing presently is to find temporary accommodation for those whose houses have been washed away or damaged. We must provide them where they can put their heads for heaven may open up again. “Sympathisers from our neighboring country, Niger, helped us fished out two bodies from their river.” Areas badly affected include Tundun Takari, Dan Tudu, Unguwar kwakwa and Unguwar Mai Kwari. When is a person able to quiet down? The reply just isn’t at all times as apparent as we’d like. In a tradition as visible as ours, we demand probably the most conspicuous of tells. If a man is roofed in maritime tats and wears Warby Parker specs, he is most likely open-minded and down with composting. In case you spot truck nuts dangling from his jacked-up Ford F-350 Tremendous Responsibility, he could really feel that “the previous methods are the perfect methods.” Sadly, except a dude picks you up in a minivan that is not his mother’s, the clues about his readiness for long-term dedication will not be as blaring as his Coexist bumper sticker. As a married man, I can let you know that I felt prepared on the precise second my now-wife advised me that she would not be relationship me for a fifth 12 months. #Romantic! What can I say? I am a recovered louse who wised as much as an excellent factor. However I typically hear about my sister’s — and my spouse’s girlfriends’ — relationship debacles. And primarily based on these tales, I perceive that the battle to discover a high quality man who desires one thing severe is actual — scary actual. There’s a in style theme that appears to run by lots of their tales. The dudes they hyperlink up with are both “not on the lookout for a relationship proper now” or “making an attempt to get my life collectively” or “simply not in that place proper now the place blah bity blah, blah…” Or no matter useful victim-of-circumstance strains males use to keep away from emotional intimacy. Maybe you’ve got dated these varieties of men. From what I’ve noticed (and overheard from individuals on dates at eating places), any baggage you may maintain from losing time on “dedication cowards” surfaces in these tense moments when two newly relationship individuals gauge their respective ranges of emotional availability. When a girl drops these very sincere “Are we on the identical web page?” questions on a dude — “Would you like children?” “Why did not your final relationship work out?” — it is clear she would not need to waste a minute extra on a man who cannot lock it down. I’ve seen these questions are inclined to put guys on the defensive. However why? I imply, past the plain reply: Males are emotional larvae. Girls are, after all, entitled to sincere solutions to those queries, however as a result of many males boast sensitivity ranges that might make a toddler take pause, could I recommend asking a distinct set of questions solely. As an illustration, as a substitute of asking if he desires to get married, ask if he has been going to plenty of weddings these days. A man whose pals are settling down round him can have a number of marriage ceremony invitations. Which of them will not? The dudes whose pals are all single and suppose happiness is being facedown in a cabana at a Vegas pool get together. Or do this alternate line of questioning: Are individuals in his household hitched and completely happy? It is potential your man may very well be an outlier, but when his relationship function fashions are mother and father whose marriage ended badly, it stands to purpose that he could also be uncertain about taking the leap himself. However from observing the connection patterns of my man pals and coworkers, I’ve developed a completely unscientific concept that I feel blows all different theories out of the water: In case you actually need to know if a person is prepared for a dedicated relationship, ask him how his profession goes. Sounds bizarre, I do know. However so far as I can inform, there appears to be a powerful correlation between a person’s readiness to quiet down and the place he’s on Profession-Purpose Mountain. Historically, society has anticipated males to be suppliers. And till we’re in a position to fairly present for extra than simply ourselves, many males really feel insufficient. And it is this sense of inadequacy that informs plenty of guys’ relationship habits. As an illustration, I do know loads of younger, formidable guys: writers, entertainers, bankers, builders, medical doctors. As soon as they get pleasure from somewhat profession success — a promotion, some precise stability, or an enormous break — their world is vibrant and so they change into open to every kind of prospects, together with settling down. That is after they get engaged to the lady they’re relationship. The remainder, who have not caught the brass ring or aren’t enthusiastic about the place their careers are going, typically forestall marriage endlessly in interminable relationships, Tinder hookups, or porn searches. Briefly, if he is not feeling happy along with his stage of success or his place on this planet, he is not going to be able to quiet down with you … or with anybody for that matter. There are caveats after all. If a dude simply is not prepared for dedication, there’s an opportunity that after he will get a whiff of success, he’ll redeem all his miles for a one-way ticket to Doucheville. Likewise, I’ve seen conditions the place a man is in a snug relationship for years, and as soon as he experiences a profession surge, he up and decides he desires a contemporary begin with somebody new — by no fault of his girlfriend However unscientific as it’s (I am not an knowledgeable, however I used to be on MTV’s Man Code!), I am assured that almost all males have a relationship candy spot, and it has quite a bit to do with assembly the interior objectives they’ve set for his or her profession and funds. In case you meet a man throughout that point in his life and also you need long-term love, the chances are in your favor. And in case your man is not able to commit, please do not suppose that you simply’re at fault. He could love you, however when you’re not somebody he sees as part of his future, you should make him part of your previous. Chika Ike made this revelation while speaking with Sunday Scoop. She maintained that she was aware the negativity spreading all over the Internet, especially on Instagram, had the ability to spoil one’s day. “Instagram can spoil your day if you are not careful or strong. There is so much negativity in the world right now; so, you have to guard yourself with prayers. There is a need to start your day in a positive light and when you pray, your day has started positively,” she added. Share Speaking on why she wrote a book on her failed marriage and father’s rejection, she said God deliberately made everyone to go through certain things in life so that one could learn and share. The actress said, “If you go through a lot of things and you are not willing to share, you’ve not achieved the purpose of God for your life. People will always have their perspectives about life and they talk about the dead too. I have gone through the phase of being scared or afraid of being judged by the public. I am learning every day to focus on myself; I cannot control anyone’s thoughts. I was rejected from birth by my father and I addressed it in my new book.” Why I pray before going on Instagram - Chika Ike lailasnews 2 In the said book, Ike also stressed the role her mother played in her life before she died: “Before my mother died three years ago, I had a discussion with her in the hospital. She wanted to know when I would publish my book; she was once an author too. I told her I was scared and she told me to tell the truth,” said the actress. “When she died, I lost myself for two years and I did a lot of therapy to get myself together. I was so attached to my mother and I didn’t want to disappoint her because she gave me her last word. My mother’s death made me understand that life is too short and we don’t have much time on earth. We don’t know how tomorrow would be; so, the earlier we started achieving our set goals, the better for us. It took me seven years to write my book because I was afraid to share some private things about me at some point. ” READ MORE AT>>>http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/07/why-i-pray-before-going-on-instagram.html . .

The umbrella body for herdsmen in Nigeria, Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, MACBAN, has provided reasons it cannot be proscribed like the Federal Government did to the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB. Speaking with the Sun, the Spokesman of MACBAN, Ismaila Ibrahim Ribeji, said unlike IPOB, that was proscribed and declared a terrorist organisation for trying to create a separate country from Nigeria, which was a constitutional breach, the herdsmen have not done anything to warrant branding them, terrorists. Ribeji, who first claimed that they don’t know why the IPOB was declared terrorist group by Buhari, later explained that the Biafra group breached the constitution by trying to create another country. According to him, “I don’t know why Buhari declared IPOB terrorist, but I want everybody to understand that herdsmen are not terrorists. “It is not all of them that are committing crimes. I’m not blind to say that some of the herdsmen are not involved in the killings, just like other tribes are also involved in the killings. “It has to do with the constitution of the country. The Fulani are scattered not only in Nigeria, but also in Africa and other parts of the world, but if you consider the Nigerian state, I don’t think there is any state where the Fulani organised themselves and say they were going to fight the government and declare their own country. “But in some states, IPOB has said they were marginalised and they have organised themselves and said they were going to declare their own country. “So the Biafra people were trying to declare for themselves an independent nation, why the Fulani people have not declared themselves an independent nation, not even a local government. If you look at the Nigeria constitution, anybody who tries to organise a coup plot or people looking for another country from the Nigeria state, there is a punishment. “I don’t think that there is any part of the country that the Fulani have declared as their own state, but those people have carved their states, and said it is their own nation, and the government saw that it was a breach of the law of the nation and no group was supposed to behave in that way. The Fulani are not doing that.” READ MORE HERE>>>http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/07/herdsmen-killings-why-we-are-different.html . .

The Nigeria Police on Friday reacted to claims by the Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose that he was manhandled by police personnel in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital. Force spokesperson, Jimoh Moshood said Fayose was been dramatic as no police officer manhandled him. Recall that security operatives had on Wednesday blocked the entrance to Ekiti State Government House in Ado Ekiti. The operatives had allegedly shot teargas canisters which affected Fayose. Commenting on the attack, Fayose had claimed that he was equally slapped and beaten by police officers. However, speaking on Channels Television, Moshood insisted that the incident was over dramatized by Fayose. The Force spokesperson also insisted that Policemen attached to Fayose were not withdrawn. According to Moshood, “We did not remove the police personnel attached to Fayose, what happened on that day was over dramatized. “Fayose is still the executive governor of Ekiti State and he was not manhandled, nobody slapped him, though there was allegation that the governor was slapped. “What were his ADC, CSO’s doing? What were the other security agencies doing at that point in time? “This was why those two were summoned to the Police Headquarters to make a statement. “They were asked if they have stopped their duties and why they allowed a state governor to be slapped. They came and made statements to the fact that there was nothing like that. “The bottom line is that we are interested in providing security for people of Ekiti State.” READ MORE>>>http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/07/ekiti-election-police-speaks-on-fayose.html . .

All Progressives Congress (APC) has rejected the claim by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) that policemen were drafted to Ekiti State to harass PDP supporters in Saturday’s governorship election in favour of the its governorship candidate, Dr. Kayode Fayemi. Bolaji Abdullahi, APC National Publicity Secretary, in a statement, said as usual with elections, extra security deployment was routine to keep the peace for credible and transparent elections. He said: “With PDP’s claim in its press statement, it is obvious that its leadership does not have the facts of the actual events in Ekiti State or it is deliberately attempting to divert public attention from the comical performance put up by Governor Ayodele Fayose on Wednesday, which was clearly contrived to give the impression to the public that he was being persecuted. “Somehow, Fayose has contrived to make this election about himself. But it is not. The contest is between Dr. Fayemi and the Professor that has continued to hide behind Fayose’s fingers. “What is clear to every voter in Ekiti is that to vote for this Professor is to hand Fayose a third term. Given their horrid experience with him, they have wisely rejected them both. “The PDP in Ekiti have read the handwriting on the wall. They know they have lost the election. They therefore have to save their face with these wild allegations. “The story of how Fayose used the security agencies to manipulate the last election is still fresh in the memory of the people. Unfortunately for him, he has no such opportunity this time. Winning a free and fair election is a strange territory to him and that’s why he is looking stranded. “It is therefore mischievous of PDP to continue to claim that the Police assaulted Fayose on Wednesday after Fayose himself has apologised to the Police authorities for lying against their officers. “The ultimate decision about who governs Ekiti lies with the people of that State, which they will make on the principle of one man one vote.” READ MORE>>> http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/07/ekiti-guber-apc-carpets-fayose-replies.html
