So last night, Daniel Ademinokan got peeps talking after releasing photos of a reunion meet with ex-wife Doris Simeon and son, David. Many online users queried him for restraining Doris from her son and queried his new wife, Stella for destroying his marriage to Stella. Well, actress and mum of two who is now in her third marriage has responded by posting these below and the caption to follow; “You don’t need permission to love. You don’t need permission to have peace. You don’t need permission to be kind. You don’t need permission to be filled with joy. You don’t need permission to smile. These are some of the best things in life and guess what? They are FREE. So why aren’t we grabbing as much as we can? Why choose hate instead of Love? Why choose evil instead of kindness? Why choose fights instead of peace? Why do we spend almost half our lives on the negative stuff when the positive stuff are right in front of us and they are free. I made my choice and I am loving it. What about you?” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/06/stella-damasus-replies-those-killing.html

Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo state on Monday declared that he has set up a reconciliatory committee to reach out to all aggrieved members of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state. Ajimobi stated this in a statement issued on his behalf by his Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Mr. Bolaji Tunji, a copy of which was mailed to DAILY POST. The governor, while congratulating the National Working Committee of the APC on successful inauguration of elected state chairmen of the party on Monday, described the event as historic. He also congratulate the state chairman of the APC, Chief Akin Oke, who was among those inaugurated by the National Chairman of the party, Chief John Odigie-Oyegun. Ajimobi also congratulated all elected state party officials at the ward and local government levels for the ratification of their election, as evidenced by the inauguration of Oke by the national headquarters of the party. Ajimobi said, “I congratulate the NWC of our great party, the APC on the successful inauguration of party executives today (Monday). I also rejoice with my state chairman, Chief Akin Oke for being part of this historic moment. “By extension, I also congratulate other duly elected Oyo APC state executive members from the wards to local governments for the ratification of their election, as evidence by the inauguration of Chief Akin Oke today. “Let me use this opportunity to say that in Oyo APC, we are all members of one big family. As a result, I want to categorically say that it is a no victor, no vanquished scenario with today’s event. We are all winners.” Ajimobi, while speaking further, said he has set up a reconciliatory committee to reach out to all aggrieved members within the ruling party. He said, “Consequently, a reconciliation committee is being set up with the mandate to reach out to all our aggrieved brothers and sisters in order to move the party forward in the true spirit, norms and practice of democracy. “I hereby implore all and sundry to take advantage of this globally accepted platform to resolve our differences. By embracing reconciliation, our party will surely come out much stronger to face our immediate and future obligation of building a more virile nation. “As the number one party in Africa, the ruling party in Nigeria and the party in power in twenty-four (24) states of the country, including our dear Oyo state, it is not unexpected that there would be differences of opinions, methodology and strategy in accomplishing our constitutional responsibilities within and outside the party. “Our role, therefore, must be to successfully address and tackle the challenges such differences may pose to us. It is in the light of this, that I strongly appeal to our highly esteemed membership to embrace peace, reconciliation and the tenets of statesmanship in resolving our differences.” The governor stressed that the APC would continue to work hard in order to sustain its dominant position for the continued progress and development of the country. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/06/ajimobi-sets-up-committee-to-reconcile.html

The Senate President, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki has said that the Nigeria Police Force’s claim that he sponsored the buying of weapon for the Offa robbery gang is baseless allegation and that this is another ploy by the Police to implicate him by all means. Saraki said that there is no way he could have been associated with armed robbery against his people. He said that ‘when the Offa robbery incident happened, he was the first top public official to visit the place and right there in the palace of the traditional ruler, he call Mr. Ibrahim Idris, the IGP, requesting him to make certain specific security arrangements as demanded by the people. Saraki asked the Nigerian public to disregard this claim as a baseless allegation and another ploy by the Police to implicate him by all means. “Let it be known that there is no way I could have been associated with armed robbery against my people. When the Offa robbery incident happened, I was the first top public official to pay a visit to the place and right there in the palace of the traditional ruler, I put a call through to this same Mr. Ibrahim Idris, the IGP, requesting him to make certain specific security arrangements as demanded by the people. “Members of the public will remember that on May 16, 2018, I alerted the Senate about the information passed on to me by my State Governor, Dr. Abdulfatai Ahmed, over a plot by the Inspector General of Police, Mr. Ibrahim Idris, to frame me up by getting some suspected cultists arrested in Ilorin to implicate me. It is believed that the timely leakage of the plot in that case aborted the use of the suspected cultists to implicate me. Now, it is the Offa bank robbery suspects that are about to be used. “This plot is concocted to embarrass me and, in the mind of the IGP, it is his own response after his refusal to honour the invitation by the National Assembly, headed me, for him to come and offer explanations on the rampant killings and violence across the country. “Like the earlier one, this frame-up will also fail as I hereby state categorically that I have no link with any band of criminals. “As a person who has utmost respect for the rule of law and all constitutional institutions, when the invitation from the Police is formally extended to me, I will be ready to honour it without any delay. “It is however sad that this abuse of the criminal investigation process aimed at intimidating and over-overawing the legislature, thereby obstructing it from doing its work, is a big threat to our democracy “, the Senate President stated http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/06/senate-president-bukola-saraki-replies.html

Beauty, the widow of murdered Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, officer, Michael Maji, has revealed what may have caused the death of her husband, Inspector Maji, a SARS officer, killed by gunmen in Rivers State. Beauty, a student of Abia State polytechnic, told Punch, “My late husband, Inspector Michael Maji, was a special person, very friendly and hard -working “I think my husband’s death was a set – up. His killers were monitoring him immediately he left the house and went out to drink with some of his friends. “Although I don’t know the particular bar he went to hang out with his friends , I was told that after drinking for a while , he needed some money and he left the place to a bank at Polytechnic Road to withdraw some money from an ATM there. That was when the armed boys followed him . They said his assailants operated in a Toyota Sienna and two bikes . They double – crossed him and killed him on Polytechnic Road. “He told me that he was receiving some threat messages from some people. They were threatening him that they would kill him , but he did not show me the number or messages. “I believe that envy is the reason behind his death. This is because whenever his team goes out for an operation and catches an armed robber or an armed robber is killed , they will call Michael’s name . “That it was him that shot or arrested the person ; they would not say it is SARS men or any division; rather they would call my husband’s name. “I believe that the envy is from his office and some of his colleagues are among; they conspired with cult boys in Bori to kill my husband.” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/06/wife-of-murdered-rivers-sars-officer.html

Frank Ilaboya, Chairman of the Edo State Football Association has urged Nigerians not to be discouraged over the country’s defeat to England at a friendly match played at Wembley Stadium on Saturday. The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Gary Cahill and Harry Kane put England ahead after findng the net in the seventh and 35th minute of the first half. Nigeria’s Alex Iwobi pulled a goal back in the 47th minute of the game to reduce the country goal deficit. Ilaboya told NAN that the outcome of the encounter was not a bad result, adding that fans should be more concerned about the team’s quality of play in Russia. “We all know friendly games are test matches, so I believe we did not do badly against England. “I so much believe in the team and the ability of the players, individually they may not be skillful as the 1994 squad but they play as a team,” he said. He urged the Super Eagles handler, Gehr Rohr, tor block all loopholes in the team before the kick-off of the mundial. Bright Omokaro, an ex-international, told NAN that the team performed fairly against the 3 Lions of England. Omokaro said that the coach needed to work on all the technical lapses in the team. “We play fairly but the coach still have a lot of technical work to do in the team, there is no cohesion among the players. “All these errors should be rectified and the players should also justify themselves by playing well, “he said. NAN reports that the Super Eagles will play their last friendly match against Czech Republic before the World Cup in Russia. A 22-year-old girl, Agbone Esther, who hails from Efurrun in Warri, Delta State, has revealed how Nigerian girls are eking out their three square meals in Libya. The returnee, who possesses an Ordinary National Diploma (OND) in Mass Communication from the Delta State Polytechnic, Oghara, regretted that she joined the trip, after paying over N200,000 to an anchor-man in an unscrupulous manner on June 22, last year. She was among the first batch of 5,499 Nigerian youths, out of which 78 are indigenes of Delta State, that were rescued by the high-powered delegation of the Federal Government led by the Minister of Internal Affairs, under the auspices of the European Union (EU) in conjunction with the National Agency for the Prohibition of Trafficking in Persons (NAPTIP) in January, this year. Esther lamented how they were being fed with addictive foods inside the cell to make them sleep off and forgot about their meals. Esther, who narrated how they travelled by land from Kano to Niger, through Agades before they got to Libya, confirmed in Asaba yesterday that prostitution was the order of the day among Nigerian girls. She said: “From the point of departure in Nigeria to the landing point in Libya, it was prostitution all the way. I have no intention of staying in Libya, but my plan to pass through Libya failed. A lot of our girls go into prostitution when they are hungry. To get a loaf of ‘Umzr’ bread to assuage their hunger, our girls give sex to Libyan men at random. So, many get pregnant through unwarranted sex.” Her views were corroborated by another returnee, Okafor Abrahim, who hails from Umunede in Ika North East, Delta State, but said he embarked on the journey to Libya in November 2016, having paid over N150,000 to a middleman. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/05/returnee-reveals-how-nigerian-girls.html

A High Court in Jos on Wednesday dismissed a case against the Assemblies of God Nigeria and six other clerics for lack of merit. Justice Christine Dabup of the State High Court IV declared that the Church is not a juristic person or individual to be sued as contained in section 5 (91)(96) of the Allied Matters Act. Reverends Yohanna Bot-Dalyop, Luka Daniel, Daniel Billy, John Vwashi, Samuel Panchi and Samuel Chung-Pam of the Assembly of God Nigeria had on May 22, 2017, sued seven other fellow clergies and the Plateau Commissioner of Police. The Plaintiffs accused the defendants of not allowing them (Plaintiffs) access to the Church in Jos. The Clergies sued include Jocob Langs, Daniel Saje, Bulus Sambo, James Gyang, Luka Dung, Dachung Delson and Dusu Alison as well as the Plateau Commissioner of Police as 1st – 8th defendants. The Plaintiff, through their Counsel Mr I.O. Onah, prayed the court to interpret a Supreme court Judgement of February 24, 2017, which they (Plaintiffs) claimed did not prevent them from being members of the church or to hold any leadership position. They (Plaintiffs) had asked the court to interpret Supreme Court Judgement and issue an order to the defendants to allow them unhindered access to the Jos District branches of the Church as agreed between the Plaintiffs and the defendants, including the security agents. The plaintiff who asked for cost of N5M as damages from the defendants, prayed for an order against the defendants to tender an apology to them (Plaintiffs) for their arrest, harassment, invitations, prosecution and detention. But the defendants through their counsels, Messers Lawrence Erewele and Obi Ehiabhi, objected to the plaintiffs’ claims and declared that the High Court lacked the jurisdiction to entertain the matter already decided upon by the Supreme Court. “For the plaintiffs, who have been ex-communicated and expelled from the church to come back through the back door seeking the interpretation of a Judgement of a Supreme Court is but an exercise in futility. “My Lord, this court, as a lower Court, lacks the jurisdiction to entertain this matter and so should be dismissed for lack of merit, ’’ Erewele argued. Ehiabhi, in his own preliminary objection, described the suit as incompetent for suing the leadership of the Assemblies of God Nigeria and the church as an entity. According to him, “looking at section 5 (91)(96) of the Allied Matters Act, Assembly of God Nigeria as a Church can’t be suit because it is not a Juristic person or individual; only the Board of Trustees can be sued.’’ “I therefore pray this honourable court to strike out this case for lack of merit and competence, ’’ Ehiabhi said. The Judge, in her ruling on the matter, upheld all the prayers in the preliminary objections raised by counsels to the defendants and dismissed and struck out the case for lack of merit. “Having looked at the preliminary objections of the two counsels to the defendants, I hereby uphold all the reliefs sought for, considering section 5 (91)(96) of the Allied Matters Act. “I, therefore, hold that the suit filed by the Plaintiffs failed, and is hereby dismissed and struck out for lack of merit, ’’ Dabup declared. The judge awarded a cost of N30,000 in favour of the defendants. Speaking to newsmen shortly after the ruling, Ehiabhi, described it as “brilliant’’ and “very sound.’’ “By this ruling, the sponsors of the crisis in the Assembly of God Nigeria (North), in particular have been exposed and failed in their quest to create a separate Northern Church of the Assemblies of the God Nigeria,‘’ he stated. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/05/assemblies-of-god-crisis-jos-court.html

An FCT High Court in Gudu will today deliver judgment in the case of alleged misappropriation of N1.64 billion state funds filed against former governor of Taraba state, Rev. Jolly Nyame. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) charged Nyame on June 22, 2010 on a 21-count charge bordering on misappropriation of funds to the tune of N1.64 billion while in office. Justice Adebukola Banjoko, after the adoption of final written addresses on February 28, adjourned the matter to May 30 for judgment. Nyame’s counsel, Olalekan Ojo had told the court that the confessional statement the EFCC relied on was marred by inconsistency and therefore urged the court to discountenance it. He said no witness in the course of the protracted trial testified or brought out any evidence to prove that Nyame diverted any funds from Taraba Government coffers. However, EFCC’s counsel, Rotimi Jacobs (SAN), said the prosecution called fourteen relevant witnesses to prove its case beyond reasonable doubt and that Nyame’s statement reproduced as evidence supported the prosecution in the case. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/05/n164bn-fraud-ex-gov-jolly-nyame-knows.html

The Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, has warned police chiefs in Igboland not to interfere with Wednesday’s proposed sit-at-home protest, saying that the authorities have no right to determine how the Igbo choose to honour their fallen hero. IPOB was apparently reacting to a press release by the Anambra State Police Commissioner, Mr Umar Garba, in which he called on residents of Anambra state to disregard the sit-at-home order, stressing that IPOB was outlawed and has no powers to order the action. The group, in a statement by its media and publicity secretary, Emma Powerful, observed that police commissioners in all the states that make up “Biafra” were mostly from the north and had no powers to determine how the Igbo celebrate their departed brothers. He said, “All Fulani police commissioners that litter Biafraland must desist from commenting about this solemn occasion. Some of them have offered comments that we deem insulting to the memory of the dead. “We don’t have a say about how they honour their victims of Boko Haram violence in core North and those killed by their fellow Fulani terrorists. We have chosen sit-at-home as the best way to say thank you to all our brave soldiers for what they did for us between 1967-70. “It will be crass insensitivity of the highest order for any Fulani police or army officer in the East to intrude upon our grief.” The group insisted that the South-east and South-south, including other states marked out for the exercise, would be locked down on Wednesday, May 30th, and that nothing can stop it. They urged every family, kindred, village, clan, town across the length and breadth of Eastern region, Mid-West and Middle Belt to remain indoors from 6pm on Tuesday the 29th to 6pm on the 30th of May. The statement said it was expected that local and international observers would be on ground to monitor compliance and interview people of the region. It read partly, “All over the world in over 100 countries and territories, IPOB family meetings will gather to rally and offer prayers in memory of our heroes that sacrificed their lives that we may live. “We owe our Biafran soldiers that fell in battle an eternal debt of gratitude which our annual sit-at-home is only but a minor but significant contribution this generation can make in acknowledgement and honour of their supreme sacrifice.” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/05/biafra-ipob-warns-police-commissioners.html

The Joint Admission and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has refuted the report that candidates for the Police recruitment 2018 exercise wrote an examination in Arabic. Spokesperson of the exam body, Dr. Fabian, on Saturday said that JAMB examined the candidates in the English Language only, and that no one wrote examinations in any other subject or language. Fabian explained that JAMB generally examines candidates in 23 subjects which are listed alphabetically in its computer-based module, and that Arabic is one of the four subjects in the alphabetical categorisations. Dr. Fabian explained: “Alphabetically, Arts comes first, followed by Arabic, then Agric, and then English. “The software is designed to push four subjects per candidate; so, those three other subjects were dummy subjects that weren’t meant to be answered because there’s practically no mark for them in this particular examination. “The Police recruitment examination is only in English Language. “The instructions were clearly written, but we envisaged that some candidates might still not read them, so the examiners read out the instructions. “The candidates were to answer 60 questions within the 45 minutes they had for the examination. That being the case, how could anyone possibly write four papers in 45 minutes?” Fabian noted that Nigerians were afraid that because JAMB registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, is a Muslim, he wanted to Islamise Nigeria, saying it was a ridiculous claim. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/05/police-recruitment-2018-jamb-reacts-to.html

It appears that the drama between Ex-Big Brother Naija housemates, Tobi and CeeC is far from over as the former had just subtly shade the latter recently. Tobi Bakre might have stirred up drama and people assume that it’s directed at his former romantic partner, Cee C. After Tobi attended Adekunle Gold’s listening party for his new album ‘About 30‘, he disclosed on Twitter that he had a favourite song which he didn’t want to mention so as to not to start up any drama. However, he later disclosed that the song was named ‘Damn Delilah’. After listening to the lyrics of songs, one can understand why it would be his favourite track. The lyrics read in part, To hell with you Delilah You made me weak and left Burn in hell Delilah You took my strength Without you I am fine girl Without you I am doing well Since you Don go I am stronger. fin misilè oo Damn you Delilah Don’t you come back oh I used to think you took my breath away I lied, I was choking on your bullshit Give me the strength to throw your heart away You don’t even deserve it What do you think? http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/05/tobi-bakre-subtly-shades-cee-c-with.html

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo today said any leader who cannot perform in office by providing leadership should get out of office. Obasanjo, who spoke at the Lagos State University, LASU, Convocation lecture in Lagos, Southwest Nigeria said such a leader should not think of seeking re-election but to get out of office. The former President, though, did not mention the name of President Muhammadu Buhari in his speech, but his words betrayed him and pointed to the president. Obasanjo spoke on the “Role of tertiary education in promoting social cohesion and peace: Opportunities and Challenges for Nigeria.” He said four needs were basic features anyone leading a country must be ready to bring to fore because they worked together. According to him, “We need those four things. If for any reason, you, as a leader in any walks of life, you cannot give leadership, maintain good governance; you cannot understand what development is and maintain and cherish values within our cultures, you must ship out no matter any level of leader you are. If we continue with business as usual, our chances of development within the committee of nations will be very slim. We have to do things differently in Nigeria for us to get things right. If we do this, we will be reckoned with globally. But if we fail, the world will leave us behind. As a leader, you must be ready to Give, or get others to Give (delegate). And if you cannot do either of the two, you must Get out. If we don’t have them, we are deceiving ourselves. God has given Nigeria what it needs. But we will get there if we apply the three Gs,” he stated. The former president stated that though the country had diversified ethic groups, the problem the nation had with diversity was lack of management which brought nepotism, favouritism and others into the polity, adding that diversity in the country’s ethnicity must not hinder equal treatment for all since everyone is citizens of the country. In a statement released by his media aide, Kehinde Akinyemi, the former president said replied President Buhari and revealed that he is ready for a probe. According to the former president, the power project under his administration has been documented in his book, My Watch, and that if President Buhari cannot read it, he should give the book to any of his aides to read and then summarise in a language he would understand….lol. Read the statement below ‘It has come to the attention of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo that a statement credited to President Muhammadu Buhari, apparently without correct information and based on ignorance, suggested that $16 billion was wasted on power projects by “a former President”. We believe that the President was re-echoing the unsubstantiated allegation against Chief Obasanjo by his own predecessor but one’. Obasanjo argued that while it is doubtful that a President with proper understanding of the issue would utter such, it should be pointed out that records from the National Assembly had exculpated him (Obasanjo) of any wrong-doing concerning the power sector and has proved the allegations as false. “For the records, Chief Obasanjo has addressed the issues of the power sector and the allegations against him on many occasions and platforms, including in his widely publicised book, My Watch in which he exhaustively stated the facts and reproduced various reports by both the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), which conducted a clinical investigation into the allegations against Chief Obasanjo, and the Ad-Hoc Committee on the Review of the Recommendations in the Report of the Committee on Power on the Investigation into how the Huge Sums Of Money was Spent on Power Generation, Transmission And Distribution between June 1999 and May 2007 without Commensurate Result,” . The former president said President Buhari should read chapters 41, 42, 43 and 47 of his book, ”My Watch” for his insights and perspectives on the power sector during his time and that if the president cannot read, he should give the books to his aides to read and then summarise to a language he would understand. “If he cannot read the three-volume book, he should detail his aides to do so and summarise the chapters in a language that he will easily understand,” Obasanjo said http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/05/any-leader-who-cant-perform-should-get.html

The killing of twins in Nigeria was abolished decades ago, but a surprising discovery has been made, of a village where twins are killed by hanging. This practice was exposed by Nkwasi Obim Nebo, a maternal health advocate and humanitarian worker who led a team of PeachAid Medical Initiative medical doctors to the village of Kaida in Gwagwalada on the outskirts of Abuja. Nkwasi and her team arrived in Kaida one day before a set of twins were to be killed. When they got into Kaida the mother of a set of twins walked up to Nkwasi seeking help. Narrating the experience on Facebook, Nkwasi wrote: As soon as we arrived the community, this woman immediately handed us her newly-born twin babies, asking us to take them away; they were only 2days old. I asked her why she was giving up on her kids, she replied and said they will be killed in few days from today if still with her. She heard we were coming and came out just to give us the babies! This is her 4th pregnancy, and her 4th set of twins also! Oh yes! You heard me right! Twins are considered as evil in this community since time immemorial, and are killed (hanged) on the third day after delivery. In an earlier post, the Peach Aid CEO had narrated how the Initiative, comprising medical doctors from Garki Hospital, Abuja, and other medical personnel, distributed contraceptives to the villagers. She wrote: During our health intervention at Kaida Village, Gwagwalada, FCT, we made sure every woman got their choice of contraceptives which will last for 5years, and that the men present also got condoms as many as they wanted. We distributed clean delivery kits to prevent infection and bleeding at child birth; we checked their sugar level, and their blood pressure; we administered Vitamin A supplements for all the children between the age of six months to five years. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/05/abuja-village-where-twins-are-killed-by.html

No fewer than 100 students of Idogbo Secondary School, Benin, were lost to human traffickers in the last four months. This was disclosed in Benin on Sunday during an advocacy programme by Solomon Okoduwa, the Senior Special Assistant to Gov Godwin Obaseki on Human trafficking and illegal migration. Okoduwa said this fact was disclosed to him by some teachers in the school, concerned about how the institution has become the harvesting ground for traffickers. Okoduwa said government will not allow the evil to continue to thrive in the state. Government will step up its campaign against trafficking, he said, and the state Task Force Against Human Trafficking will be on the trail of the human traffickers. He warned the students to be wary of the antics of the traffickers who are bent on deceiving them into embarking on the dangerous journey. “Henceforth, report anyone who tells you to travel to Europe. They are simply taking you through Sahara Desert and the Mediterranean Sea and you may eventually end up in Libya. “The number of students that have been trafficked from your school in this short period is overwhelming. “The truth is that many of them might have been imprisoned there or facing one challenge or the other. “Taking the route of Sahara Desert and other illegal routes is hellish. “Many died of hunger, many were drowned in the Mediterranean Sea in search of greener pastures. “Worst still, the families of those people that died on their journey were made to pay for the travel expenses, when unknown to them their loved ones have gone to the great beyond. “If anyone tells you to travel abroad through Libya, tell him or her capital ‘NO’. If you must travel for any reason, travel the right way.” NAN reports that the state government had received no fewer than 3,400 Libya returnees within the last six months. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/05/edo-school-loses-100-students-to.html

Reno Omokri, former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, has mocked the All Progressives Congress, APC, over the conduct of parallel congresses in some states. The United States, US-based Pastor said APC’s name should be changed to “All Parallel Congress.” Reacting via Twitter, the former Presidential aide added that recent developments in the party show that APC cannot give peace to Nigeria. He wrote: “After the conduct of today’s APC Nationwide State Congress, it will be better for the party to change its name to All Parallel Congress because Parallel APC congresses have erupted in almost all the states of the federation. Can a house divided against itself stand? Be the judge! “Is there any state where APC held its party congress in peace? How can a party without peace give peace to Nigeria? Can you give what you don’t have? Their party is a reflection of what they have done to Nigeria”. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/05/apc-jonathans-ex-aide-omokri-mocks.html

In a chat with TS Weekend, 15 year old Nollywood actress, Daniella Okoye revealed how she was almost raped at the age of 11 while at a fashion show. According to her, she was lured into a room by the pedophile who immediately shut the door and pinned her to the wall. Luckily for her, someone came to her rescue as she screamed for help. “I was just a toddler then. I was 11. It was a traumatic experience I will never forget. But for providence, I would have been raped at a fashion show somewhere in Lagos, but I wouldn’t mention the place. First of all, the guy asked me to come inside the changing room, so I innocently went inside to change my costume for the next round of the show when he suddenly locked the door, got close to me aggressively and pinned me to the wall. But God Almighty sent someone that came to rescue me when I shouted with a loud voice. Speaking further, Daniella Okoye said rape is a terrible experience no woman should go through. “It was a terrible experience. Rape is not what any woman should go through. It’s a total abuse of womanhood. Though, I have forgiven the guy who tried to rape me, I (thank) God that my mother and manager, Ebuka Peters are always around me to protect me these days”, she said. She added that the experience motivated her to start a cause which educates girls on how to relate with the opposite sex. “In all of these, I have been motivated to start up a cause tagged: ‘Educate a Girl Child’. The reason is not far-fetched. When a girl child is educated, she knows her rights and has street credibility especially regarding to how to relate with the opposite sex anywhere she finds herself,” she said. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/05/how-i-was-almost-raped-at-age-of-11.html

The Senior Pastor of Praise Arena, Pastor Jummy Adetoyese-Olagunju has appealed to state governments across the country to reintroduce moral instruction as a main subject in the educational mainstream curriculum and set up programmes that would help in celebrating honesty, faithfulness and patriotism among youths within their states. Olagunju made this known at the 2018 couple’s dinner organised by the church recently in Lagos. The programme tagged ‘Stronger Bond, Greater Joy’, brought together hundreds of families and Christians faithful which featured song renditions, teachings, counselling, and prophetic declaration on homes. According to him, “we would only be building learned monsters that are not humane, honest and patriotic if moral instruction is not reintroduced back into the Nigerian educational curriculum.” He noted that there are more educated people in position of authority across the country but recent statistics show that Nigeria is still high up in the global corruption index. He opined that corruption in leadership position is worrisome, and is because the needed moral values that are needed to have been instilled in them when they were ordinarily citizens are missing thus, they cannot give what they do not have. Olagunju continued, “we need to reintroduce moral instruction as main subject that will teach leadership, selfless service, patriotism, respect for rule of law, and compulsory community service which would prepare today’s children to become selfless leaders who will serve the Nation with love of the people in mind.” He lamented that many youths join cults and engage in nefarious activities because they are disillusioned with the system that does not have reward for honesty and faithfulness, as corrupt people keep getting accolade for all the wrong reasons. Adetoyese, who lamented the recent upsurge of drug abuse and addiction among young Nigerians, said that some of the underpinning actors for high rate of drug abuse are the high rate of divorces, challenges posed by being single parents and failure by parents to instil Godly values in the children “Nigeria needs urgent attention as government and non-state actors to step up their intervention campaign against drug abuse by promoting and supporting healthy homes and responsible parenting,” he said. He cited a statistics in the United State of America which states that 70 per cent of children in prisons or reformation homes are by-products of broken family. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/05/cleric-tasks-govt-on-need-for-moral.html

A statement by the Assistant Director, Public Affairs in the Office of the Wife of the Lagos State governor, Folashade Kadiri, said that other welfare arrangements by the governor’s wife for the newborns include: supply of diapers for one year, supply of baby milk and other essentials for one year, all these in addition to two bus-loads of baby essentials like beds, mattresses, diapers, boxes of cloths, socks, pants, caps, etc, that accompanied her on a visit to the infants, at the Lagos Island Maternity. Governor Akinwunmi Ambode also gave an undisclosed sum of money for the care of the babies — three boys and two girls — who weighed between 1.5kg and 2kg respectively. Speaking at the maternity ward, the governor’s wife, who was visibly elated and brimming with smiles, thanked God for the safe delivery of the infants and commended their mother for regularly attending her ante-natal sessions in a government hospital. Wife of Lagos State Governor, Mrs. Bolanle Ambode (2nd right), warmly hugged by the mother of quintuplets, Mrs. Jessica Obiefuna (2nd left) while her husband, Mr. Augustine Obiefuna (left) and a COWLSO member, Mrs. Ronke Solomon (right), watch with admiration during the presentation of baby items to the infants by the wife of the governor, at the Island Maternity Hospital, Lagos, on Wednesday, 16 May, 2018. She urged expectant mothers in the state to shun quacks and self medication, but to register early and diligently attend ante-natal clinics in government hospitals, for standard medical care. The statement quoted her as saying: “You can all see why it is good to register in a government hospital where standard medical care is guaranteed. This woman registered early and regularly attended her ante-natal clinics. The result is that all five babies were safely delivered to the glory of God.” She commended the entire medical team, especially the Consultant, Dr. Ogungbemile Babalola, for their professional service, stressing that the government would always prioritise health care service for expectant mothers, to eradicate maternal and infant mortality in the state. Mrs. Ambode, who later inspected the maternity ward, promised further donations to the hospital, to strengthen maternal and infant service delivery in the hospital. Father of the babies, Mr. Augustine Obiefuna, copiously thanked the governor and his wife for their rare benevolence and generosity, which according to him, transcended ethnic and tribal considerations. “We are surprised that despite being non indigenes of the state, the governor and his wife could show us so much love and kindness. They are just wonderful. We never imagined that Her Excellency could personally come here to see our new babies. We cannot stop praying for them and their children, for God’s favour, protection and wisdom at all times,” Obiefuna was quoted as saying. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/05/ambodes-wife-gives-n500000-monthly.html
