A lot of folks also leave the Ac on inflow instead of circulation. Most of those buttons don't even work, so the car Ac is on inflow, fumes from the engine leaking manifolds get in.

Well , I did not read any part of the whole write up that states the engine was running , it would have been stated that they found people inside a parked vehicle with engine still running , they claimed they want to force the door open but decided against it before informing the police. If the engine was running who off it , the police? Or the lovers put the engine off before they died? Or better the SUV go out of fuel , then the engine went off by itself. Lot of questions to be asked before concluding whether its CO suffocation or they were driven to the spot dead on arrival.

Carbon II oxide becomes poisonous only in the absence of fresh air or in a vacuum. Going by your analysis, anyone who dares to use AC in, let’s say 30 minutes hold up is a sitting duck. I don’t mean to insult you brother man but how does that sound to you?
