Peter Obi believes that Nigeria is under-policed. That other African countries which are smaller than Nigeria have up to 1 million officers. I absolutely agree.
But where will the money to fund them come from? The current officers are poorly paid despite being too few in number.

The number one cause of this short recruit is*NO HOPE* in Nigeria especially in Nigerian security system and peradventure Peter Obi wins and rejuvenate that hope again, you would see millions of recruits in every security departments/sectors in Nigeria...
Secondly, the money to pay for their salaries, wouldn't be any problem because Nigeria is very rich buh just few pocketed Nigerian money (1/100) and when Peter Obi block some loopholes of corruption and cut down the cost of governance, you would then see that the money to pay for their salaries wouldn't be an issue...
Lastly, the political elites are fighting against this because they wouldn't want that to happen via they are benefitting massively from this Nigeria damaged settings buh the masses will definitely win at last....
I rest my case...Gracias!!

Look i share your points that subsidy has to go, but not at this time that crude oil prices are soaring and the naira is shit compared to the US dollar. it will worsen an already bad situation in Nigeria. The issue is there is no accountabiliy in the subsidy regime. and he will not end like Buhari if he does, then since we elected him it has sent a message to everyone that the electorate for once have power to remove anyone and we would remove him as well.

I know, but let's be honest....no one , unless your name is Dangote and BUA, wants to build a big new refinery because one will refine fuel at NN200, or more and sell it at N165...and be happy.

At the end, we have to decide whether we want to keep on running deficit budgets or not...because we have to pay a rising cost of money for subsidy when oil prices rise.

If you put the right thing in place, from consumption to Production, there will be funding
And you think all those changes will come to fruition in a year or two?

Most people supporting PO, do not know that if he actually do what he says he'll do, there will be better hunger (even worse than Buhari's hunger) in the land for at least 2 years before the positive side of his policies will start showing. But his supporter don't know this. They think he'll solve all the problem in one year. They think he will just replicate what he saw in Egypt in 1 year, and things will just get better.
And this kind of too much hope will cause them utter disappointment when they don't see what they want in a short time.

They don't know that insecurity will remain the same or rise for quite sometime before anything meaningful will be done. Even if he changes security chiefs every month, how many would he change. He won't be able to do anything meaningful in 3 months securitywise. In those 3 months, can he stand the heat? When on his first day in office, he hear they bomb one village in Borno and tomorrow they've bombed a city in Kaduna and next tomorrow they've kidnapped school children in Sokoto, can he stand the heat. Or would he resort to blaming the previous government?

The fact he's making all the problem in the country easy to solve will be his greatest nemesis if he gets there.

Do you actually think Fashola didn't think truly with his heart that electricity was a problem that could be solved within 6 months? And here we are after 7 years we're still in darkness.

The fact that we all think one politician alone is going there to work while the others are going there to worsen the problem should stop.

I thought that by now Peter Obi would have stopped his incoherent, stop and start way of answering questions giving the office he is vying for. He always appears to be wandering into different thoughts at the same time which affects the words that come out of his mouth. Either that or he doesn't have a real plan on any issue.

What baffles me most is that some of the paid demented deranged miscreants castigating and abusing Peter Obi here,do not even know that the probability of getting a good paying jobs and exalting offices would be higher under Peter Obi's government than in the government of Tinubu or Atiku because these two believed in connection and contacts while a common man believed in his ability and excellency of which Peter Obi stands for merit and not for*political elites, cronies and friends*..
Lastly,Peter Obi's government would be a government where a son of a nobody becomes somebody without knowing anybody...

The money Nigeria and Nigerians have paid bandits and kidnappers in the past 4 years can fund 100,000 gallant officers for 8 years.

Nigeria is not rich. And please don't compare it to countries like UAE, Qatar and Saudi Arabia. If you sum all their population together it won't still reach Lagos. That's why they are rich cos they have less people to enjoy such plenty crude oil. Nigeria has similar amount of crude oil but with over 200 million people.

You are sounding like PO here...yes and no. Subsidy has to go, whether cost of transport or power cost. If I was government and you were a business selling books at N1000 per book, and I told you to sell at N30 instead to help the poor, how would you make a profit that would enable you to pay for restocking, transport costs, etc?

And if subsidy goes, all the fradulence would end. Since there is no more free government money...people will bring in fuel and sell and make a profit without having to lie that they are bringing in 10 million when it is really 2 million.

I mean, no subsidy, so no one can make subsidy claims, and people will just simply bring in and sell what they really bring in. And since they are making a profit, no need to lie or to smuggle fuel out of the country.

.

My problem with PO and Buhari and company on this subsidy issue is their lack of decisiveness. Subsidy has to go. No buts. It is fuelling the corruption in the system, it is causing inflation of fuel import figures, so that people can make fradulent claims, and it is losing us billions via smuggling to the whole west africa .

Subsidy has to go, and go now. No buts.
I would have offered you cold gulder for this truthful post but I don't know if you're a Muslim.

Truly subsidy has to go. No buts. No ifs. E gats go.

Boko haram is a franchise. People are living big off it. Have you heard of the journalist that exposed why a certain Major committed suicide? Have you heard why he had to leave the country with nothing?

Listen, there is nothing like we don't know if.... these people have antecedents. Go and read my watch on Atiku. He is just interested in being the president. He is the one that started the bribery at the NASS.

Mr Tinubu cannot lead. He just wants to be a president. It is his turn. Somebody told you his plan for the youths and insecurity and you are still in doubt. He blacks sometimes. How do you expect him to function? Like Buhari?

I hope at least in your private moments even if you dont admit it publicly that there are real concerns with Peter Obi and what he says... he is too vague.

yes or no are you removing subsidy, are you introducing state police, are you restructuring, these things dont require story. Tinubu has already stated he will introduce state police, he has stated he will restructure and I am sure he will remove subsidy because the truth is no Nigerian aspiring for office can acheive anything if we do not remove subsidy. Subsidy in 2023 for example is more than our entire budget for education health and roads combined. Our subsidy in 2023 will build lagos to Ibadan rail 5 times, These are not issues on which a presidential candidate can be vague.

pepter Obi claims he wants to invest in the people, you cannot invest in the people without health and education, where will he get the money, in 8 years he didnt raise the IGR of Anambra, is it this same person that will raise the IGR of Nigeria? so if he has no track record of generating revenue, the only other option is to look at areas of waste, therefore subsidy is a key area especially as I said we spend More money on subsidy than we spend on Education, health, roads combined!!!
That is why Buhari should just remove fuel subsidy before he leaves. He's already hated by almost everyone. There's nothing he'll do that will make those who hate him to hate him less. So let he just remove the fuel subsidy and go. Cos people will hate the next President that removes it. I won't tho

What debt burden, he left Obiano with a debt burden of N185b but omitted it from his handover notes.

He increased IGR by a paltry 8% in the total of 8 years, in a period of economic boom for the country and in a country where inflation is above 10% PER ANNUM meaning in real terms IGR actually reduced under him, but you are probably not enlightened enough to to understand what I just typed. The man before him achieved 800% in only 3 years, the man after him achieved over 200% in 8 years of economic difficulty and social upheaval and you have mouth to talk? You motivation is clearly not facts, logic and good performance. Just state what we all know that you are supporting Obi because he is Ibo and save us all the BS about him being the messiah.
