This 5 -10 days is not sure. Since August 2nd till date the medical report is still in progress. It is well over 10 working days now

I wanted to say that after his post. As at the 11th working day after my medicals, IOM had not sent my results to IRCC. I had to send them a mail expressing strongly how disappointed I was, before they sent it and tendered an apology.

So, I suggest you send IOM a reminder.

PPR alert!! I still cannot believe this has happened. It's been so long since I applied that it's felt like a daily delusion to keep up with this application. My case was ridiculously complex and I'm not even sure where to begin from. This is going to be long so prepare for a short tale.

In 2019, I got adopted by my father (who lives in Canada) and neither of us had any idea of how to work an application but we assumed it couldn't be that difficult if there were available funds. He sent me an invitation letter, his financial documents and a prepared itinerary of places we'd visit in order to give the application some substance.

Within a month, it was denied and that was devastating for both of us because we'd thought it was a straightforward process. In 2020, I hired an agency that had a visa approval rate of over 90% and they took a very pricey fee for the help.

One thing I will say about agents is that they can make or break your application. It is true that the average one in Nigeria is a con person but there are also very genuine agents and you just have to know where to find them. Even on Nairaland here, many end up hiring gurus to do the work of an agent so unless you're completely qualified to do the work and prepared to be as thorough as possible, please hire competent help.

They told me outright that only a study permit would give me a chance and my biological mom would have to be my main sponsor. They also told me I'd have to apply to a major university as it would ensure a tuition fee that would be worth showing IRCC I was serious about studying there. After supplying them my information, they applied to University of Concordia, Ontario and Ottawa. I got into all three within the month to study English Language.

I was going to pick the University of Concordia because it's in the same state as my adoptive father and I wouldn't have to pay for an apartment but they gave me a conditional acceptance dependent on a timely submission of an IELTS result. I found that silly and racist because my English results in WAEC and my high school transcripts were stellar and everyone knows Nigerians speak English as their main language. I probably speak English at a higher reading level than their Teaching Assistants so I responded declining their offer and applying with the University of Ottawa.

The agency wrote my letter of explanation, addressing my former refusal in a way that I probably couldn't have done and they established strong home ties.

On the 23rd of August 2021, I applied. I wouldn't hear anything till October 15th when my medical request form came in. I got that done at IOM on the 20th of the same month and when they discovered I'd had tuberculosis at 16, they asked me to do a sputum test that week to save time because IRCC would definitely want additional medical attention.

On the 26th, 27th and 28th, I got my sputum tests done. I wouldn't receive any feedback till December when I was told I passed. On January 20th, I got the final xray done and my results were sent to IRCC. I remember thinking the worst of it was over when I received yet another email to go for a pulmonary testing at a recommended tuberculosis specialist and I had breathing exercises done. She also filed a report about her findings and cleared me.

On February the 17th, my medicals changed to "under review" and I hoped they would be passed before the month's end. When February was over and I didn't hear anything, I joined Nairaland to ask questions about what I could do. I got advised to send emails and web forms so I did those but I kept getting automated responses about "being in queue for processing" or being "under review".

In April, I contacted the MP office of Montréal and they gave me information saying my application was under eligibility review. That month, I ordered my GCMS notes and saw that it was not even true. My eligibility and criminality had been passed since the same day my medical request was sent in October 2021. My medicals had been stalled in the Central Admissibility Unit for months.

On June 1st, I got a Procedural Fairness Letter for medical inadmissibility. I take supplements to ensure my tuberculosis remains latent and apparently they cost more than was allocated for international students yearly. I was asked to prepare a mitigation plan to show how I'd cover the amount which exceeded the threshold.

Since I'd paid a tuition fee of $10,000 for my Fall semester, I had Healthcare coverage. I confirmed that it was active with the university pharmacy and they redirected me to my insurance provider which confirmed that not only was it active, they had my medication and covered it. I took a letter from them and the campus pharmacy and I submitted the health care plan on July 18th.

On July 26th, I passed my medicals. Once that happened, a part of me began to feel more assured but more nervous than ever. I started sending frenzies of emails and web forms requesting a final decision as my application was set to clock one year.

This morning I was about to have breakfast when I got the "donotreply" email. While trembling, I checked and there lay my BVL, Medical surveillance form and Original Passport Request. This has been the most difficult thing I've ever done and I am grateful for everyone who contributed to making this a reality, most especially my dad.

Hello house, please can I travel ending of October if my classes resumes January 2023. I need a quick response please as I'm about to book a flight.
I need a quick response please!!!!
Hi Immacbaby,

I would strongly advise you against booking that flight. 3 months before your enrollment date would raise the CBSA officer's suspicion.

Please do not even attempt it. Anything from 4 weeks is fine.

Love you and have a safe flight!

To God be the glory, great things he hath done! It's PPR my people.

I thank God Almighty for approving my SP application. It's only Him that can actually do it. IRCC, or the VO in charge of my file, was just a conduit for His works. I praise the name of God Almighty. Thank you Jesus!

I specially thank my spouse. I understand you just always want the best for the family. God bless you real good.

And now to the big masquerade, Makano, I can't thank you enough for the encouragement and support. Your professional guidance right from the onset is part of what we are celebrating today. You sure know what a sure application is. Despite my worries about the delay, you were cock sure that the visa would be issued, and more so in August. I know I didn't take to some of your advice, but I'm sure you'd understand that was due to anxiety about out nation. Thank you Makano. I recommend Makano to you all.

Meanwhile, Makano, we go still find way resolve that good dilemma.

Worthy mentions also to Mama12345, Ketima, Tobe1997 and Toceen2022. God bless you all.

Key information about my application and my timeline below:

1. First time applicant/New portal
2. Sponsor: Spouse
3.Tuition for 2 years: CAD 31,274
4. 1.5m + 2.9m (Applicant)
5. 5m (Sponsor)
6. USD 6,888 + USD 7,000 (Sponsor)

O ya o! Make una help with visa submission process. I know it's been shared several times. I just need reassurance on the choice that can deliver my 'visaed' passport within a week. School resumes early September.

Thank you all

My post was never intended to encourage account inflation, and I mentioned it in my earlier post. I just explained how the process works because people who do business might think they can’t use the money in their account after submitting my bank statement. And in one of my earlier posts, I also mentioned that IRCC could ask for an updated bank statement if they suspect the money was inflated but this rarely happens.

Please learn how to criticize constructively. Nobody is here for a fight.

Please note that my response was never meant to make you panic. Instead, I wanted to explain the process so you can understand the possible reason for the delay and be proactive.

HouseRavenclaw:

If you're referring to the time it takes for it to reflect as passed on your profile, that is untill IRCC processes it, mine was update to passed after a month of upfront medicals.
This is quite different from when IOM transmits it to IRCC.

My biometrics was transmitted same day I went for capturing, it's over a month and it's yet to change to passed on my profile.

Good luck.

I just got a scholarship that covers my tuition fee after I have submitted my study permit application.
Would it be necessary to upload the proof of scholarship after submission and if I can still send this document, how do I go about it?

You can apply for your form A request, don't panic.

The processing time is quite long, this is usually within 30 - 40 days so if you have an alternative or a deadline you might want to rethink.

Some people feel that smaller banks process faster than larger banks but I'm no sure how true that is.

Once you apply please ensure your account is funded from when it is approved till it's processed so it doesn't get rejected with insufficient funds as the reason - you will start all over and wait another 30-40days for it.

Good luck

Email IOM to request for your medical report. In the same email, ask them in whether they have transmitted your medical result to the IRCC and when. This is just to confirm.

But I'm sure IOM must have transmitted it. It's IRCC that are yet to update it on your dashboard. I learned here that it does not matter whether or not IRCC have updated it as everything may be done together with BVL and PPR.
