This Federal Government is only concerned forex. Local Price of gas keeps surging becausse of importation of gas they didn't think of doing something. Now that Europe needs gas, they have solution to Europe's gas problem. |

BluntCrazeMan:Can you just keep quiet and think? Gas will still be in use for the next half a century.. And even if the Russia Ukraine conflict ends, it has already opened the eyes European countries not to depend on only one country for its gas. So they will diversify their markets to other countries so as not to be independent on one country like they've been dependent on Russia.. What other best thing should Nigeria put her money at the moment? 1 Like |

Perfectbeing: You are not getting it that gas can be used to make 24hr electricity. Europe needs the gas to power their electricity and keep them warm in winter. No problem in selling the gas but why is the gas not used for Nigeria’s development. |

Perfectbeing:Using the Nigerian gas within Nigeria is still the best option. You only export excesses, or the ones you cannot immediately use in the form which it is. (Crude Oil for instance). .. We cannot be in shortage of gas, and we are here planning of exporting the same little gas which we don't produce in good quantity. .. I mean, what type of stupidity is that? |

MrDickless: Where did you get that from? Nigeria is expanding her gas market as a way of earning more USD for the country. No be una dey cry say one dollar na almost 700 naira? The government is trying to correct that through natural gas supplies to the European market because Russia is currently starving them. 2 Likes |

quickly:And the plants and generators that will use the gas will be gotten how? The gas will magically transform into transmission wires, dams, the electric cables etc and when the Government wants to pay the workers working in the power stations, they will pay them in gas abi? Most of you Nigerians doesn't even know there is paining you. Most of you don't follow news. Buhari paid for the building of some power plants way back in 2017 and it's not until December this year that they will be transported to Nigeria. You think everything good can just be willed to happen and it will happen. 2 Likes |

Dabok: The power sector in Nigeria is divided into three: Generation, Transmission and Distribution. While we are slightly getting it right with generation, transmission is failing and distribution is helpless because they don't get enough and theft by customers. What we lack in Nigeria is the infrastructure to transmit the quantity of energy we generate. Since we don't have the infrastructure to evacuate the energy we generate, the national grid gets overwhelmed and keeps collapsing. Nigeria generates more energy than she distributes. So, Nigeria needs a lot of USD to stabilise her ailing economy because we practically import everything and acquire equipment needed to evacuate power from the points of generation. Selling gas to Europe will put Nigeria on the map, reduce the influence of Russia on Europe and generate Nigeria a lot of USD. 2 Likes |

BluntCrazeMan:And see how the petrol subsidy is killing us? We budget for on petrol subsidy than for power, education and road combined. But thank God Dangote's refinery will soon begin. Buhari will remove subsidy completely before he leaves. And if any candidate that wins feels it's the wrong thing to do, he can put it back. |

pquaver: First, remove Peter Obi from that statement because he has neither been your president nor minister of power/petroleum resources. Secondly, if Buhari was a sensible man, he would know that it was more logical to borrow and fix power instead of railways. For goodness sake, Nigeria was doing so fine without those so-called railways because we had federal and state roads all over the place. The borrowing should have gone into power generation, transmission and distribution. This is critical in Nigeria's economy. Sadly, he chose to fix railways because northerners are only interested in easily moving their imported goods from Lagos ports to their region and Niger Rep. Oga, stop defending the undefendable because it makes you appear senseless. That's why it is said that people lose their common sense the moment they join the APC. 1 Like |
